I was just looking for a normal checkup right now and noticed these oil marks everywhere.
    What is this Leakage?

Recently I've seen Pawan's bike leakage issue in real & here, is this the same head leakage?
The first leak at the top is common occurrence. You need get the valve cover gasket (NOT head gasket) replaced using a bit of gasket sealant (grey loctite, svc should be having this). DO NOT let them smear the sealant from the outside(i've seen them do it) like plastering walls!
It is done for free if under warranty and a new gasket + sealant will arrest that leak for good if done correctly.

The other leak seems to related to blow-by.. please open the air filter box and check for any oil residue. Get it thoroughly checked at the svc.

I also have oil leak as in your first picture, my oddo is 11k, its common and need to get fixed under warranty. i going to get it fixed in next service.
      Get it checked and fixed.

      ----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

New RC 390 at Rs. 2.25 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) The major features and upgrades comes with the new RC series are

      Ride by Wire,
      Side slung exhaust,
      Adjustable levers,
      EVAP system,
      CAN BUS

What you guys think are the useful updates that can be retrofiited on old RC??
For me underbelly exhaust is still preferred as it is of low weight(?) and more importantly helps a lot while movig in traffic due to its compactness.

It has much more than what meets the eye. A new ECU, new fuel pump by Bosch with revised pressure, wider front alloy(different place for abs mount due to the same), ABS model is now displayed in meter, If kill switch is off, it displays 'KILL SWITCH OFF', adjustable brake and clutch levers, some part changes to engine, more rubber mounts to reduce vibes, bigger front disc, sintered front brake pads etc are the very few things. There are many more which I dont remember at the moment.
Ride, ride and ride.. But always do it responsibly..

Beautiful, Ivin. What piques my interest is the new fuel pump by Bosch, wondering who were the the earlier vendors for the fuel pump? Any insight into that? Secondly, I'd like to know more about the subtle part changes in the engine, would be really helpful if you can throw some light when you get hold of any information regarding the parts changed to the powerplant, and especially the wheels, wider front wheels, meaning width, keep us posted.

          Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
          The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

          THE END

            Thanks Ivin for details.
As a owner of old version RC, my concern is that i will be in trouble if these new parts are not compatible with old rcs (2014/15/16)

2017 Updates------------------------------- Can Be retrofitted/Compatible with Old RCs?

New ECU ------------------------------>> I think No due to increased sensors/electricals for ride by wire and new fuel pump
fuel pump by Bosch ----------------------->> I think No due different ECU
wider front alloy --------------------------->> Yes can be retrofiited
adjustable brake and clutch levers ---->> Yes can be retrofiited
bigger front disc---------------------------->> Yes can be retrofiited
sintered front brake pads --------------->> Yes can be retrofiited
Ride by Wire, ------------------------------>> I think No
Side slung exhaust, ---------------------->> Yes can be retrofiited
EVAP system, ------------------------------>> What is this, not sure?
CAN BUS------------------------------------->> What is this, not sure?

So I think Old RC owners will be in trouble say after 2-3 years if your ECU/ Fuel pump give up or malfunction and New one looks incompatible with older models.

PS: All these are my understanding and could be wrong. So comments are welcome.

Let's not jump to conclusions without seeing the parts in real and understanding how they work.
CAN bus is a standard for interfacing the various electronics/sensors on a vehicle. It uses fewer wiring/electronics to manage the various parameters.
EVAP canister is used to collect the fuel vapor from the fuel tank and dump it into a charcoal canister (one more 'pollution control device'). This is located on the LHS close to the radiator iirc (already present on the previous gen ktm on the EU/US and maybe other export markets too)

And present owners shouldn't have a problem in 2-3 years as bajaj/ktm would continue supply of the appropriate parts for the different models. Launching an updated model doesn't mean the old spares will be discontinued immediately.

Does anyone have a audio/video of how the new rc390 sounds?

That is what I also want to hear. I am expecting a more grower exhaust instead of current sound.

The current dukes & RC's also use the bosh fuel system (apart from the bosch ecu and abs)

Yes could be by Bosch itself as I really don't know who manufactured it. But on the ones launched yesterday, its a new one with revised pressure. Old one reportedly fails too fastly when you run without the adequate fuel that is needed by the pump and KTM had to replace quite a number of ones under warranty. Hopefully this will atleast stay more than 2 years, even when not taken care properly.
This is completely my understanding regarding the matter..

                      Cheers

How much of 9.5l tank capacity is usable? I am considering 2k17 RC390

With sedate riding you can expect 170-180 KMS before hitting reserve, with reserver you can drive 30-40 KMS without probelm.
So you can drive 200 KMS safely with sedate riding before requiring refill.

With agressive riding you can expect 150-160 kms before refill.

So the usable quantity is around 7 lts I guess? Apart from carrying extra petrol along, is there any other solution to enhance the tank range?

Also, how are the headlights? Does anything needs upgradation on that front?
