Get a bungee net and use that to mount the helmet on the pillion seat(maybe with a bit of juggad if needed)

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
Why would you want to carry the helmet in such a way!? Am not sure if I am missing something here.. since the helmet is only attached at one end, it will easily end up coming off across the seat and maybe hit your tire or someone else on the road! Dangerous man.Originally posted by kaushik12041985 View Post

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
1.due to weight of the helmet it will not bounce if you cross pothole with moderate speed.Originally posted by Adilkadri123 View PostKudos for being innovative.
My concern would be that unless the loop is secured again to the the bike after attaching to the helmet it's just gonna bounce off the pillion seat the moment you hit the first pothole. Why don't you use a bungee cord instead with one end bolted to the bike and the other end with the usual hook which will securely clip onto any bit of the chassis after passing through the chinstrap.
Secondly because of the way the bolt is attached to the bike it's just gonna work loose over time as the strap will exert a ratchet like action on it when it's being used. This could be solved by using some blue threadlock on the threads.
2.it will be always with bike so you can use it when you want to carry an extra helmet. No need to carry bungee cord. And if you attach helmet over pillion seat of RC390/200 it will be difficult to cross your leg over the helmet(as already the height of pillion seat of rc is very high)
3.this type of bag strap is very sturdy and can easily handle the weight of helmet.
4.and for loosing issue - i have to work on that.

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
Weight has nothing to do with the helmet sitting firmly on the bike. Trust me if you hit a bad pothole at speed etc even the rider might bounce off the bike. The helmet with your technique unfortunately just won't be secured properly. Anyway test it out.Originally posted by kaushik12041985 View Post1.due to weight of the helmet it will not bounce if you cross pothole with moderate speed.

Yes friend i have to test this setup at high speed.I have tested it at low speed(30-40) on average road condition and there is no issue.Originally posted by Adilkadri123 View PostWeight has nothing to do with the helmet sitting firmly on the bike. Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
See, if you are carrying a pillion then that helmet is supposed to be on the pillion's head not dangling from the bike.Originally posted by kaushik12041985 View PostYes friend i have to test this setup at high speed.I have tested it at low speed(30-40) on average road condition and there is no issue.
And if you are not carrying a pillion, get a bungee net and put helmet under it on the pillion.
If you want to park your bike, then you are better off carrying the helmet than leaving it on the bike.
Coming to the bungee net, maybe you could work out a juggad to use it on the petrol tank rather than the pillion seat?! Now, that would be smart use of space.
What do I mean by 'bungee net'... well a simple Google search will give you some information.

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
No offence .Just my thought
If you keep helmet over pillion seat it will be so high that it will be difficult to cross your leg[as pillion seat of rc is enough high]
If you keep helmet over tank it will be inconvenient to ride due to riding posture
Yes helmet can be fixed by the side of bike using bungee net but in that case you have to carry it separately[e.g-you are going to drop someone.if you have this strap setup you can easily hang that extra helmet(after drop pillion) from this strap ,you need not to carry bungee cord with you.]

Check engine oil level, if its low top up 100-200ml recommedned oil and head to svc if alarm is still there after 10-15 minutes.Originally posted by jackofsome View PostConsole showing low oil pressure. What can be the problem?
if oil level is ok then it could be sensor problem.

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
Low oil pressure in the console means, either you have a faulty oil pressure sensor or the oil level in the engine is low. This must be looked into with utmost significance. Check the oil with the bike standing on a plane surface and once the engine is cooled or leave the bike overnight and check the oil level next morning, the oil should stand in between the high and low mark on the sight glass. If you observe the oil is just slightly above the low oil level, or almost touching the low oil mark, a top up is required. Observe, and ride the bike for a few KMS, if you observe the warning go off, it indeed is low oil. If you still see the warning, your oil pressure sensor might have gone kaput. First try the top up method and keep us posted.Originally posted by jackofsome View PostConsole showing low oil pressure. What can be the problem?

The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
Are you sure it's sprocket seal leak? Sometimes, an excess chain lube splash too can seem like an oil leak from front sprocket. But if you can clearly differentiate between the engine from chain lube, then no, it's not common to see the sprocket oil seal leaking. Get it replaced, and if you're under warranty push for it.Originally posted by vijacdblz View Postare leaking sprocket seal common in ktm? its just been few weeks since my valve cover leak got fixed now this happened, is there anything that i should be aware of?

, Yes i am pretty sure its from sprocket seal , either that or its leaking along with crankcase cover. my chain hardly sees any lube , due to dusty roads here.
I checked with the service center , they also verified it but couldn't fix it cause they didn't have the spare with them right now, so topped up oil for now.
planned to give her back to the service center by next week.

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
My bike is currently standing at 16,750km.
Last service was done at 16,050.
So some 700km is done after the last (third) service.
I was just looking for a normal checkup right now and noticed these oil marks everywhere.

What is this Leakage?
Recently I've seen Pawan's bike leakage issue in real & here, is this the same head leakage?First I was Scared But then We Made a Deal
