Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
Yes both the 390 and the RC series can be upgraded to the slipper clutch. Plus the newer versions do come with softer clutch setup with reduced clutch springs and a change in clutch actuator arm.Originally posted by jaswave125 View PostHi guys I searched the thread and could not find any answer.
Could the OLD RC390's be retrofitted with a slipper clutch from KTM?
I hope somebody could answer me. I'm based in Philippines and could not find any help here.
PS: I own both a duke and rc 390 I just love them so much!!
My oil change interval is no more than 3 to 3.5k, There have been only a few instances where I've extended the interval to more than 5k, with absolutely no negative effects whatsoever. The key is your riding pattern, sedate riding , doesn't require frequent oil changes, hard on the right hand coupled with frequent dusty conditions do warrant frequent oil changes.Originally posted by Deathwing View PostYes my friend, if your riding at that range , my advice change oil at 2000-3000km range for a longer engine life! Its bad for the clutch plates too, just make sure you check the colour, smell and viscosity, I'm certain you've been running on burnt engine oil.
Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
Hey guys,
I've crossed the 10k mark, and my rear tyre is showing signs of wear. While it would give a few thousand kilometres more, I figured I'd look into replacement options in the mean time.
As far as I'm aware, the stock configuration on the RC is 110/70ZR17 front and 150/60ZR17 rear for the Metzler Sportec M5.
I had a few questions regarding this.. could someone decode what it means?
150/60 is the configuration for the rear, what would be the difference if it were say; (160 or 140) / (50 or 70)?
Are there any alternatives to the Metzler that are better? While I know the Pirelli/MRF are used as they are cheaper and last longer, but do they provide better performance, especially in gravel/sand and wet conditions?
In addition to this, I came across the Metzler M7, which seemed rather lucrative, priced around 12,000 roughly for the rear. Has anyone used these, or could help me out in deciding if these are suitable or compatible for replacement? There is both, a 150/60 and a 160/60, how would the 160 be different?
Secondly, would these affect warranty in any way, and would I have an option to purchase them from KTM itself?
Thanks!

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
Don't expect superior performance than metz in wet condition from Michelin mrf or Pirelli. But in dry and gravel mrf Michelin are performing very well.Originally posted by AngadV View PostHey guys,

I own a 2016 rc390 and i want to change its stock horn. I feel irritated with the stock one.
Please suggest some good horn with loud and decent sound. Also it should get fixed on the place of stock horn i mean i dont want to mess up with any electricals etc.

Hi5 on this. The stock horn is seriously irritating and even my Activa horn is louder than thisOriginally posted by kunal24 View PostHi everyone, i am new here and its my first post.

I've done some search on this thing too.
I have plans of fitting Pulsar220 dual horn set into this, that pretty loud, road legal and not much load on battery.
You'll need horns (around 350₹ for a set I guess) and a relay(50₹) to power it up. But first confirm with your svc. It purely depends on how friendly they are. Because a electrical change will lead to warranty issues if they are not helpful.
I have plans of changing horn since 1 year but I'm just a bit lazy and I will do it soon. [emoji13]First I was Scared But then We Made a Deal

)
