Re: KTM RC and DUKE chain noise
Using bike for 3 years and I don't have such problem.Originally posted by Kh Bishal Singha View PostTill today there is no solution for the noise of the chain which comes out from DUKE and RC , there is a knocking sound when the chain becomes loose . Even after tightening the chain , after riding 10-20kms Chain becomes loose and the knocking sound comes out .
All you need to clean and lube chain every 300-400 kms and tighten/loose correctly.
Its 20kkms oddo and Still running on stock chain set without problem.

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
Okay, since we are talking about chains. I have a few questions:
1. What's the life of the chain and sprockets. I know that depends on the riding style. But we should definitely have an average life span for this. Please comment your personal experience.
I replaced mine at 15k kms.
2. Is it time to change the chain and sprockets once I start having uneven chain slack?
3. Can the sproket be reused with a new chain? I am beginning to think that the need to replace the chain along with the sprokets is a myth.
4. Talking about sproket wear, anyone have an example of a worn out sproket? My old sproket looked good without any of the teeth looking pointy or hooked. I just could not understand if the sproket indeed was worn.
Thanks

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
If cleaned and lubed well along with slack adjustments, chain set should last atleast for 18kkms+ with sedate riding.Originally posted by khaosavz View PostOkay, since we are talking about chains. I have a few questions:

Its better to replace both at a time as whole chain set costs around Rs 3-4k .
Beware that svc might force you to replace the chain set prematurely to earn few more bucks.

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
I didnt know about calibrating TPS as i was told that it is just a plug and play for powertronic v3! And i am running the stock bike map without quickshifter.Originally posted by Rahul.g View PostI mean do you face lag at a specific rpm?
You have to calibrate your bike's TPS with the piggyback, there is a option to do that on the software powertronic provide.
BTW which map are you using?

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
Okay this is really strange and I'm bit confused right now.. So after riding for exactly 12 minutes whenever I try to downshift from 2nd gear or neutral the gear indicator won't show up!! I mean exactly after 12 min of riding 🙁the gear writing on meter keeps blinking but won't show up the 1st gear sign

Yeah, I had a similar problem. The SVC will change the gear position sensor for you.Originally posted by SubhashGowda07 View PostOkay this is really strange and I'm bit confused right now.. Faulty gear position sensor. Usually these items are replaced under warranty wherever applicable.Originally posted by SubhashGowda07 View PostOkay this is really strange and I'm bit confused right now.. Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
Having constant engine knocking and FI issues as engine shuts off abruptly. Ignition problems after the abrupt engine shutdown. Going to the service centre today to get the injectors cleaned. Parts to be checked:
Fine fuel filter
Fuel tank for deposits
Fuel lines
Fuel injector
TPS
Anything else to be checked?
