Hi Fellow Tribesmen (and Future Tribesmen)

I have done 9800 km on my mojo and my rear tyre needs replacement already. I am just curious if anyone else got their tyre replaced at less than 10000. I know a couple of guys who did it at 12000-14000 kms.

Also it would be great help if you guys share your experience with different tyres on mojo. I don't wanna buy another Pirelli which doesn't last even a year

    Thanks and Cheers!

    Happy riding.........!

    1) How braking performance of Mojo? Is it adequate? How is front & rear brake?
    2) How is pillon seat? Is it sufficient for city commuting?
    3) Are twin headlights bright enough for highway?
    4) How much smooth engine is & how much it is reliable?

Sorry for replying so late.... I was not following xbhp for a while.
The good thing is that now I have done 9800 Kms and can give you even better review.

    1) Braking performance is good. It is a heavy bike and breaking performance is dependent on the rider as well. Once you are acquainted with the bike dynamics you will feel quite comfortable with the breaks. I like the breaking performance personally.
    2) Pillion seat is OK for light weight pillion. Girls love it and dont feel shy to hold the rider when you rev little hard.
    3) I feel twin headlamps offer same illumination as the single one. I feel the need of additional fog lamps to suffice for the gap between low beam and high beam. Mahindra has launched its 20W fog lamp with stand at Rs. 5000/-
    4) Engine is smooth as **** and reliable as hell. My radiator fan rarely turns itself on unless I am riding slow in traffic conditions. Heat dispersion is also quite good compared to KTM. Very low vibrations felt and engine doesn't mind hard revving.

Another point I would like to mention here is the tyre life. My rear Pirelli is already a goner and needs replacement. I might opt for other cheaper brand than Pirelli as its cost and life don't vouch much for economic viability.

    Cheers!
I hope you have already purchased the mojo

Buddy pirelli is soft compound and on our Indian conditions 10000km sounds right, its a wonderful tyre to corner on and feel but will wear out, do try out Michelin pilot street radials, I've heard it last upto 25k km-30k km if ridden sanely

As deathwing said, Pirellis are soft compound tyres which offer superior grip in all conditions. Hence they wear out sooner, 10-15K is the usual range but again it depends on your riding style, riding conditions etc. I am still running stock rear tyre at 16K kms. Will change in next 1-2K kms depending upon the wear. While changing you have the Michelin Pilot Street Radial as an option which would be cheaper and provide longer life but you will be compromising on grip slightly. So it boils down to your preferences, if you corner a lot and want grippy tyres then stick to Pirellis otherwise for munching miles you can opt for the Michellin.

Synergy, Basvangudi and Alfa Motors, Domlur are the two preferred outlets for Sales are Service, atleast for me. Both of them have a master mechanic who will solve any of your concerns in a jiffy. I personally prefer Synergy mech though as he has been very understanding and helpful in solving my concerns in a timely manner.

Congratulations in advance. See you in the Tribe soon!

You can try MRF Masseter Tyres, MRF tyres usually have good amount of grip and lasts long.
Rear tyre of Size 140/70-17" will cost around Rs. 3800, but for front tyre, you have to go for another series as the same size is not available in this series.

                ----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

I'm from Chennai (sub urb), I have seen Mojo (Volcano Red) in Adyar once.
From that time I'm thinking to get one. Learnt riding from all time star RX - 100, and enjoyed riding JAVA during my college days, but after that I have became a Car guy.

2 years before I started to go office with my new Mahindra Centuro disc brake version. It's rock solid and suspension is at its best. My daily commute is 40 Kms, normally I ride at 45-60 KMPH.

After seeing Mojo last week and reading all your reviews, I got some few questions in my mind.
Why did I bought a commuter bike after riding all the classics available during my college days? and why should I ride it at speeds which will give mileage of just 50-55 KMPL? By using centuro for last 2 years I'm sure that Mojo (their Flagship) will also score good, so why don't you go for it?

RE ticks most of my requirements, but now many people are having RE, during 2005, RE is symbol of status and only very few people will have it. So going for RE now is just like getting Hero Honda Splendor. Now Mojo and Duke is holding that status. Dominar may disturb my mind.

There are just few things that stop me before taking a decision, service and availability of ABS.
As far as service is concerned, I don't mind travelling 40 Kms for service where mojo is sold. (it is presently at Porur)
I reduced riding bikes after realising that, RX 100 may go fast, but there is no safety in it. And Pulsar in those times are not to my liking. So I've moved to driving cars for 5 year for my daily commute to ensure safety, after that I came back to Centuro. It is totally good in handling and braking. Now days bikes are coming with ABS and wide tyres which makes them safe and make ride stable.
I've also seen some threads saying that Mojo will also get ABS soon, but when?

I'll be ready with funds by April/May 2017, whether that ABS variant will be ready by that time? because I've read that by 2018 ABS is mandatory for bikes over 125 cc. Will Mahindra will make available of it right before the deadline as Bajaj did it for Dominar?
Please help me in taking decision.

The rear tyre size is also incorrect. Mojo uses 150/60 R17 at the rear which is not available in the Masseter series. 140/70 will be a downsize.

                      Hi,

After considering Dominar and Mojo for touring purpose, I am inclining towards Mojo even though it doesn't have ABS and costlier.
I am from Pune and seems there is only one dealer for Mojo here. Can anyone tell me how the ASS has been?
Also, long time owners, can you tell me how the experience has been with Mojo for you when it comes to touring? Have you faced any major issues?

Oh, Sorry for giving wrong info.
Then MRF Revz C is available @ 4K , and Michelin Pilot is available @ Rs. 5.5 K

                          Hi,

There was a video post by sachindesai (if I am not wrong) under motorcycle ownership experience. He has the bike for a year now. Probably you can find it here or search on YouTube for his review. Pretty honest!

Leaking in the sense is it dripping around? If so then go to a well known SVC and ask them to do a fork overhaul and fix it. Don't take your bike back unless they confirm that the issue is fixed and wont reoccur. If it is not dripping and just becoming a little greasy then its normal, my forks become a bit greasy after riding a while. But the fork seal is intact.
