Ideally it will not affect the engine as viscosity is same. Just check with Mahindra whether it will affect the warranty as if you don't change oil from them at the time of servicing there are no records of engine oil change in their system which might affect warranty. So please check with fellow mojo owners.

I would suggest you to stick with brand which is used by company till warranty is applicable to be on safer side.
Post that use the brand you wish to use.

1. Smooth engine.
2. Tested for 5 years over lacs of km - so even the initial batches turned out good enough - less guinea pigs.
3. Loads of torque where it matters - mid range.
4. 600-700 km tank range.
5. Comfortable seats and riding stance.
6. Exhaust note (matters to some).
7. Good stock tires.
Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Tomal, the 1st and 2nd point given by Divya Sir are the main advantages. Please look at the competitor Himalayan's page and see the problems faced by it. New Dominar will also have problems. Mojo was tested for 5 years.
The only problem of Mojo is looks(subjective), price, marketing and ABS. I consider price to be the major disadvantage because we Indians are price oriented. Though is not bad to be price oriented, as we look for value for money product.

Thanks... I'm considering it on a serious note. One point of concern is the service center should not shut down if the sales figures is not good, especially in Northeast India. I'm from Guwahati, Assam.
And hope it can be ridden within the city on a daily basis.

Looks I like.. ABS should come out soon(though for me ABS is not that important as I don't ride very fast), why they are not marketing it in a full fledged way is confusing. Price doesn't matter if the bike is long lasting. I'm a Unicorn user and very happy with the bike even after 7 years.
Cheap and Free things are never good, but in India those only sells..

For touring, its the best you can get in market for that price. Brakes are effective and work how a tourer would need it to, just that they are different from the brakes on other bikes, rear locks easily and front is progressive, that is something you get used to in about 2k kms.

Fuel efficiency, I get around 32kmpl with speed ranging 85-105kmph on highway all day. If I go beyond that, FE is drops by ~2-3kmpl. In city, I did not bother to measure it. Many have reported drastic drop in FE after removing DB killers, as a tourer I dont think you need that noise.

Rear is lighter than Front for sure, I did not find it troublesome at all, with Lugggage tucked on the rear, it evens out without much issues.

Fuel indicator - yes, that happens on my bike too, from two bars to blinking in about 60kms, when it starts blinking it has arount 2-3ltrs of fuel. I think the last bar is considered as reserve, hence the blinking ( thats just my assumption).
Spares - Slightly on the higher side, but wont drill a hole in your wallet.

I went through same dilemma before taking the leap, now its just start it and leave without hesitation. If you ask me for "buy or not to buy?", I would say a solid yes. hope this helps, Cheers!
I'd prefer if the ABS has an ON/OFF option.

Cheers

Just wanted to know if anyone has experimented on the headlights like LED etc.
