  • Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan

Just got the MOST EXCITING CALL with reference to this group. My Royal H has been billed and is in transit. Expecting the PDI & registration to be done this week, hopefully I will get my bike early next week!!!!

Seems Snow color is available easily here in Coimbatore...

Please guide me with what PDI we should be doing?
Also can we inspect the vehicle before it is sent for registration??

Check out this PDI thread, for more info.

Specifically coming to RE, check for any loose fasteners, mudguards, headlamps, anything that you can visually inspect on an RE is a plus. Do keep a tab on the engine oil leak for the first 500 KMS. Some have reported faulty speedo gauge even on a new bike, so make sure you check your speedo console is perfect without any glitch.

      Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
      The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

      THE END

Anyone using Cramster colt? Will it fit on the Himalayan? Is it waterproof? Need a saddle bag asap and can't take motorcycle to the shop for test. Suggestions please.

Nice man you're lucky that you got it in 2.5 months. Also please do tell us about the issues and which lot your motorcycle belongs to. It will be a lot of help.

                      Hey Guys,
Could not update the thread as I was busy. Last week I got the Gear Shift Indicator Sensor replaced. Now the false neutral light is gone. But still the gear indicator does not work properly. RE is working on an updated part for this. A couple of days back oil started leaking from the pipe connecting the Oil cooler. Was supposed to visit the ASS. And I got a call on Saturday from the Authorised Service Centre to get my bike for a check up on Monday as Territory Service manager and Engineers were visiting to check the issues with Himalayan. Went there and got the faulty Oil Pipe replaced. Along with that an upgraded Clutch plate assembly and Rocker Shaft bolt were also fitted which the Service manager carried with him from Chennai.

Now the engine feels much more comfortable. The tappet noise has reduced to a great extent. Finding neutral is easier now. I dont need to come down to 1st gear to navigate through a road hump now like I used to earlier. I can easily ride in 2nd gear in low speeds and doing 45kmph in 5th gear feels comfy now. No Engine knocking like before. Expecting better fuel efficiency. But the gear shift is still hard. Will ride for a few days and check as its a brand new clutch plate and if it remains the same then will be reporting it to Terrotiry Service Manager, RE. Looks like they are developing another cam shaft which will make the gear shift smoother and also bring the engine NVH levels further down.

Guys do check with your Service Centre for the upgraded parts.

They are making a new camshaft. Will they replace it for all bikes or only for the new lots?

Cornering like a boss eh. so think its time to call Himalayan an all rounder or jack of all trades.
