From the pics it appeared that the wheel/tyre failed suddenly while riding . Try removing a deflated tyre from a rim , it's quite difficult . I have pushed bike with deflated tyre for few kms , it never came off . Wheel rims are designed to keep tyre captured securely . The Himalayan has tubeless or tubed ? Cause tubeless shouldn't even deflate that fast even if punctured .
However I can't say what would happen if you continue to ride on deflated tyres for long distance at good speed - Know nobody that would do that
Anything that may even slightly endanger my or a fellow biker's limbs or investment does concern me much . Never given a fat rat's ass for any bike manufacturer or their holy cows . If they wish to keep their reputations , they'd better do their act properly . Else they'll face the brickbats .

Dont jump to conclusions without knowing about some basic things about the bike.
• So you assumed tyre came off the rim by just looking at the pic. Good good!!
• Himalayan has tube tyres.
• Pushing a punctured bike and riding a punctured bike on an off road trail is like comparing apples to oranges.
• And before quoting everyone and putting your point, you should have read the attached image before your reply to clear everything out.

The topic is become quite spread across the web , so people shall decide whatever is good for them anyway . So I feel no need to argue it . I did not conclude anything , it's not possible to draw conclusions from 3 viral pics on the inter-net . However , since there is a possibility of some inherent defect , it drew my interest and comment . I feel it's important to be aware and watchful and share info whenever any possible problems in any model comes to our notice . I am also not invested in the model to have any personal concerns . It was good to know from all the real owners that there is actually nothing to be worried .

Hi xbhpians, does anybody know about the recall made by RE for the Himalayan? Did my 1st servicing at 450kms and came to know about a faulty clutch plate in my unit which they are going to replace when the part arrives. Someone also having hard gear shift issues with the Himalayan?

The clutch plate & rocker shaft were replaced. Gear shift is usually hard. Try shifting between 2000-2500 RPM. It should be smooth. Heard RE is working on gear shift issue.

Okay, thanks man! Hope the new parts arrive soon in the dealer that I bought the bike from.

Linking a first impressions review courtesy of our biking brothers from stateside. Seems RE is actually looking at US as possible market for the Himalayan considering there is a lack of budget ADV tourers. Might provide additional impetus for including FI and ABS (switchable of course).

So post our trip to hills, my friend's himalayan developed a new issue. CONE SET

He went to svc for the same but as usual it was not in stock, told to come back post 15days

I rode it the other day, the front feels like someone took out all the air from the tyre, its difficult to turn in slow speeds. Quite scary while turing.
Escalated the matter to Chennai, will keep you guys updated

prateek2210.. ask him to sell the bike and get another which is more reliable. Not worth visiting svc every few weeks.

Ride safe and have fun.

The bike is good , the parts issue is something to worry about.
IMO, RE should have taken little nit of more time in R&D for this
