Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan
Hey Guys,
Got my snow variant beauty this Saturday. Its an amazing motorcycle. Loving it. Planning to take it for a 4k plus trip after 1st service. Few concerns that I had:-
1) Faulty fuel meter:- The meter doesnt work properly. I filled up petrol, it went out of the red zone but within a min of riding it dropped to the red zone like a bag of potatoes. It fluctuated a bit and then dropped all the way down. The fuel knob is on main though. I went through the posts on this forum an noticed that few of you have mentioned about the faulty fuel meter issue. Were you able to get this fixed?
2) Odometer reading:- I have a feeling that the Odometer display might be faulty. It seems as though its rushing through the kilometers even if you havent actually ridden that many. Anybody faced this? Ill also check this again and post back.
3) Poor finishing:- The welding seems amateurish and few bolts are rusty. Overall the finishing could have been better.
Thanks,
NavaneethLast edited by thewanderer85; 08-29-2016, 01:43 AM.

1) get it changed under warranty. RE guys here have been really helpful. I had water bubbles in my console and they changed it promptly. Trip F meter is pretty accurate.
2) Cross check it with Strava or similar apps and get it rectified.
3) RE needs a better QC department. One life to ride....

Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan
I too am searching so are a lot of RE riders but company seems tight lipped about it. You can't even buy Himalayan parts off the shelf. You have to produce the broken/ faulty part first.Originally posted by avinraj46 View PostWhich is the rear shock absorber brand used in the Himalayan??One life to ride....

Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan
Hey guys!
Just wanted a feedback of the RE Service Centres in Mumbai!
How's the RE Service Centre in Andheri East?
Are they good?
Or any other SC which is safe to give my beast!
I've heard the one in Mahim is bad!
Mumbaikar Enfielders...what do you have to say about that?

Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan
He is the friend I mention in my posts. So I know each and every issue Himalayan went through and how it was handled.Originally posted by Pique242 View PostThere is a YouTube channel "As I ride motovlogging". He is very positive about RE after sales and prompt issue check ups. How are other non celebrity riders doing with early bird issues? Please throw some light.
Btw met Bunny Punia (gaadi.com) this Sunday, he had diff exhaust installed and was quite bassy.
Samrat, As I RIde, got the same day before, 3700 + labor charges. More bassy sound , and more loud popcorns too

2) Cross check it with Strava or similar apps and get it rectified.
3) RE needs a better QC department.
Just got my mc after 1st service. Its much better now. Loving it to a new level. Few things I got checked:-
1) Fuel meter and odometer:- Svc guys confirmed its working fine. Even before giving it for 1st service I had gone on a 400 km short ride and noticed that the readings were pretty accurate. Odd that the fuel meter was behaving drunk initially.
2) Idling issue:- Before service, the motorcycle wouldnt idle after starting it after a short gap. It would hit 1 k rpm and engine would stall. Had to give some throttle to keep the engine running. After a min or so it would idle(without giving any throttle) at the expected 1k- 1.5 k rpm.
Got this tuned. Now its idling at the first start itsel.
3) Clutch was stiff before. Now after svc its smoother
Other than this they carried out general check up(fork oil, brake fluid, chain free play, chain lube etc) and also changed the oil and oil filter. First service cost about 1200.
Now the mc is all set for higher speeds and long rides.
