Well, now I am fine, got hip injury, not very big, just that I hit the ground on the on the hip joint, got few harsh bruises on the back which are still healing. I hit a lorry from behind, Lorry guy just suddenly went on from speed of 40 to 5 in 1 sec, looks like he was searching for a shop while driving in middle of main-road and he found the shop and suddenly braked. I was at speed of 40 too but could not come to halt in 1 sec and neither could turn to the left-right side of the lorry because of traffic going on same speed, it was main-road hence I could have gotten crushed by vehicles coming from behind if I would have suddenly turned. Anyway, the bike went under the lorry, some guys helped me to get the bike out and as soon it was taken out, the lorry guy sped like lion running behind him and I did not even not the number down because took me a while to get up and understand what just happened.

I applied for insurance and whole story I will cover and update it here once I get the claim settled

Very sorry to hear that. I am glad you're alive and well enough to write back. Get well soon. Bike damage is secondary & it can be repaired or even replaced. You can't, not for your near & dear ones. Just focus on your healing process. Take care. Do let me know if I can be of any help.

That is very unfortunate to hear. Hope you have a speedy recovery. As for the motorcycle I'd suggest you replace anything and everything that's bent/broken rather than lathe/jugaad cause those things might come back and bite you in the ass when you least expect it.

          Hi Arnuld:
I am happy to hear that you are safe and nothing worse happened apart from the injuries you sustained. These chutiya drivers must be bought before the law and punished. Please take care and rest well and get complete recovery. Financial loss, as said by the previous biker, can be recovered but not physical one.

          Take care,
          and happy riding.

@Rahul_Seeker : Yeah Rahul. Thank You. You remind me of my friend who said "How dare you let anything happen to your bike ? "

@Pique242: Thank you man. I am getting better, I am walking and a month more I will be running too.

@rk1685: Yeah RK. Exactly same I thought when I got up from road after few seconds of unconsciousness. My head hit the road thrice, almost 10 feet of rolling & rubbing on tho road after I hit the ground. when I saw nothing really serious, life threatening happened to me. Same thought occurred to me, Bike can be repaired and I can even get a new one better but I cant get better body for myself.

@IamAditya: Yeah Aditya, thanks. It was sad and still because of God's blessings I was saved from any major injuries. You know even the truck which was bringing my bike rim got accident. That's one reason repair got delayed

ashwinprakas: Yes Ashwin, I told same to Mechanic. I told him no matter how much time it takes, I want everything to be done well because I don't want to get into future problems on road driving this bike because of saving money or time right now. Told him not to focus on insurance but do his best and he did. Check the pics down.

SimpleGmail: Yeah man, I got financial loss but I am still happy because I am whole 100% eating my food and getting up and sleeping normal. My friend even gifted me his 2nd hand monitor on which I am typing this.

I am very much glad at your replies, I think I am able to get so much happiness because all of you blessed me indirectly without even having seen me. Since I don't drink, now coffee in Starbucks is due from my side to all of you

Bike used to have Iron Mudguard but since it no longer in production, they put CT100 Mudguards, its plastic.

Would appreciate if you could share the repair cost as well.

And what percentage of it was paid of by insurance, when you get your claim amount.

It will take a week to settle the claim. It is Bharati AXA insurance. How Bajaj works is I have to pay all the amount to them and after that I will get claim from insurance company and they will put into my bank account. Once it happens I will share the whole experience.

I had no idea that there used to be a metal guard. Thanks for the input. Plus I bet plastic would be lighter and cheaper.

Don't worry about the box, it's bound to loose colour, a little DIY'ing would cover it up.

But the metal guard would look more classy to me at least.

So after a week I started the motorcycle to ride it to office from where I'd ride it to my native once my shift ends.

Normal start routine didn't work as expected, so had to turn the engine a few times with the ignition off before she'd come alive and maintain idle with the ignition on.

After starting up and idling for around 3 mins. I got on and started to ride, it was funny as I was getting some weird noises from the front which went away after a few hundred meters. There was a few missed beats but as I make it a point to only upshift from first once the bike is able to maintain a consistent speed, she was back to normal in a few seconds and we headed straight down to office. I get the feeling that this motorcycle needs to be used daily, the reason I refrained from doing so is cause my office is only 2~3kms from the place where I stay.

As if now I can't wait to ride home in the evening.

Oh yeah, I spotted rusting on the metal leg of the indicator switch. But u guess it's normal.

                        UPDATE.

She's completed over 400 kms now, yesterday had taken the long route home and rode along with a colleague of mine who was on his Splendor which has close to 85k on the Odo, Man! Was the Splendor fast, had a real hard time keeping up. It was funny cause the first iteration of the Kawasaki designed motor used in the CT100 had a R.A.C.E badge on the crank case.

                        ANOTHER UPDATE.

She has completed 500 kms now and I've gone for the first and most essential upgrade already.

So I got my first service done today. Everything was fine in service except the brakes were tightened too much.

When I returned home, I felt the bike was little slow in pickup, but smoother. Also engine noise felt was less.

But the point of concern was, when I checked the bill properly at home, I saw they used Bajaj SAE 20W50 oil and charged 390 for that. However the owner manual recommend 10W30. Anyone faced similar issue? I'll take up this issue in ASC Tom. Will be glad if anyone can provide some info till then.

The SVC only have 20W40 and 20W50 available in OEM offerings so its not unlikely that they used either. Just hope the 20W50 doesn't come in 1150ML Qty as the P220 needs 1150ML on oil change and some 20W50 oils come in 1.15~1.2L bottles considering that.

Your bike would run fine with any of the oils, be it 10W30, 20W40 or 20W50. The latter two would be heavier hence the sluggishness but it does protect better considering our Indian riding conditions.
