I know the risk involved, but the bike was that stable (every with strong winds) that I was easily able to ride with one hand. Also the roads of Gujarat are much better and the route was familiar, so took the risk to click pics and video.

Thanks!Originally posted by Vector82 View PostThe bike looks awesome with newly installed handle guards.

BTW, the speedo error for most Bajaj's I've owned seem to be at a fixed 5kmph with a 1kmph difference when suddenly accelerating or deaccelerating. Which seems to be pretty decent I believe.
As for high speed, wow! The best I've managed is 90Kmph on the speedo, I believe that has something to do with me weighing 115Kgs now, the motorcycle is awesome, no doubt about it and another thing I've noticed is that she gains compression the more we ride and looses it when left idle, might be a run in thing hence waiting to see how she'd be once I complete 10k on the ODO. Fingers crossed

It is great that you know the risk involved. It is equally great that the roads in Gujarat are better than most states and are familiar to you.Originally posted by Vector82 View PostI know the risk involved, but the bike was that stable (every with strong winds) that I was easily able to ride with one hand. I am very happy that you are safe & sound after handling your mobile phone while riding a 100cc bike at it's top speed using only one hand to steer the bike.
Don't give in to "The Illusion of Control".
Please ride responsibly.
Wish you many happy and safe rides!

Re: Bajaj CT100B
Guys, have any of you ever converted a BA20D bulb setup to a H4 setup?
If yes, please guide me. My CT100B came with BA20D, and the stock bulb has recently blown out and I wish to utilize the opportunity to go for a H4 conversion.
Also this is my first HL change for a naked motorcycle, please guide me on how to open up the HL dome, I do not wish to experiment and break anything as I do not have a spare motorcycle at the moment.Motorcycling Experience:

why do you want to go for a h4 conversion ? Planning to upgrade the electrical/wiring and the bulb to a 60/55w h4? Or LED bulb ?Originally posted by ashwinprakas View PostGuys, have any of you ever converted a BA20D bulb setup to a H4 setup?

if not you could get a bosch halogen in the stock rating/type (i assume is 35W), and i've found it to be better and have been using the bosch ba20d halogen on my 2007 Dio for a long time now.
here are some of the nuances that you might have to go thru to get the connector converted:

you shouldn't be losing compression. it probably means sticky piston rings.Originally posted by ashwinprakas View Postanother thing I've noticed is that she gains compression the more we ride and looses it when left idle, might be a run in thing hence waiting to see how she'd be once I complete 10k on the ODO. try using an additive like system g or one tankful of fuel with 25ml of 2T oil.

After converting to H4, I wish to opt for a H1 40/45 bulb.Originally posted by s1d View Postwhy do you want to go for a h4 conversion ? Planning to upgrade the electrical/wiring and the bulb to a 60/55w h4? Or LED bulb ?

Would see if I'd be able to source the Bosch bulb you've mentioned. In the meanwhile a friend of mine from WB has mentioned that there are S1 to H4 adapters, and I've asked him to send me a piece. Lets see what life has in store for me.
BTW, are S1's easier to replace compared to H4's? If so I wont mind keeping the S1 in case the adapter focus is crap.
Would try our economical option 'Addon P' and see if anything changes.you shouldn't be losing compression. it probably means sticky piston rings.

As of now all is good as the motorcycle is used at least once a week.

Re: Bajaj CT100B
I've not heard of a S1 bulb.. I don't think a specific bulb type is going to make replacing a bulb any more difficult or easier. it depends on the headlight unit/motorcycle and how easy or complicated it is to access the bulb holder.. there after its just plugging in the bulb.Originally posted by ashwinprakas View PostAfter converting to H4, I wish to opt for a H1 40/45 bulb.

A better alternative would be to simply mount an auxiliary light (led or regular ones) on the crash guard/handle bar.. this is by far the easiest mod and works very well.

S1 is the same as BA20D, BA20D is the holder spec where as S1 is the bulb type, like P43t is for H4.Originally posted by s1d View PostI've not heard of a S1 bulb.. The parts have been finalized.
TATA Ace sealed beam multi reflector.
Ceramic H4 Holder.
Based on the part availability the rest would go on, would post an update once done.

Is that H4?Originally posted by deep007 View PostBajaj compact re 4s
I tried sourcing Amby/TATA Ace unit, but the spare shop did not have the piece we were looking for, hence had to get a replacement bulb to go with the current setup.
The Bulb we sourced was a Bosch M5 35/35, yet to ride and see the difference.

Wow! I can't believe I'm saying this but I won't be moving to H4'S anytime soon. The throw was just wow! I rode some 30kms just to test the beam spread through various conditions.Originally posted by s1d View PostThis is the bulb I was talking about. Do let us know your feedback.Motorcycling Experience:
