Though another confusion I have is whether the new CT100's were BS3 in the first place. As I remember seeing BS4 in one of the ads. I just presumed mine was BS3 as it lacked a SAI module.
Thanks for the info. I'd be really furious if there's a printing mistake in owners manual regarding choke position. I had been riding it wrong all the time, if it were true.

If choke is on bike won't idle when hot. As far as the manual goes it's crap. The oil quantity itself is confusing as the crank case says 1L and the manual says 0.9L.

Then what you're saying goes correctly with what the asc told me.

I don't trust asc mechanic at all lol.

Bike stalls when I push the lever up and idles normally when lever is down.

If I go by what you're saying then there's probably printing mistake in manual. However I'll not leave Bajaj so easily for such a big goof up.

I think the choke has no use whenever I pull the lever bike stall (engine off).

That's how it's supposed to work. When motor is warm and tuning is perfect the engine would shut off. If the RPM raises then either the motor hasn't reached operating temp or you're running lean.

If your bike is running fine (whether idle or in gear), using choke will definitely shut-off the bike. This is how it is supposed to be.

Handle bar, no choke or anything like that.

Choke on. Lever down.

Choke off, lever up.

Then I asked them how is it possible that bike stalls with choke on, and with choke off the bike doesn't stall. They explained that with choke on the combustion chamber gets flooded with petrol and hence it stalls. I didn't argue further as I was tired with running around. They told that they have forwarded this mistake to Bajaj hq for correction and will inform me in couple of days.

I've a few questions:
1. How the hell could Bajaj make such a big mistake in their manual? With choke on off position, it's quite crucial I suppose.
2. Are their arguments which I have stated above correct, or they are just trying to fool me?
3. What is the position on your ct100b? The choke position.
The mechanic is right. When you use the choke and ride, the bike will eventually sputter and shut off. The choke is used to enrich the mixture (by cutting air supply, hence the name 'choke') and is useful at cold starts.
It doubt it to be a printing mistake (though bajaj's manuals have some errors, based on my experience with the dukes manual). Can you post a picture from the manual ?
Otherwise, they have probably not cleaned and fit the carb properly. Cloud be that a jet is blocked (i've seen that happen) i.e. less fuel entering carb.
When you pull the lever down, do feel tension/have to apply some force at the lever ? and moving it up feels like 'it is springing back to its normal position' ?
Because to me, looking at that picture it does indeed look like the 'down' position is choke 'on' and up is 'off'.

So your mechanic's explanation of the behavior of the bike on vs off choke is correct, but a good possibility that the carb was not cleaned and fixed back properly.

Pique242 in platina choke is also near the carborator. It becomes on when you pull it down and it turned off when you pull it up. I think this info will make you more confuse😂
