Your bike would run fine with any of the oils, be it 10W30, 20W40 or 20W50. The latter two would be heavier hence the sluggishness but it does protect better considering our Indian riding conditions.
Ok bro, thanks for the assurance. I was riding afraid my engine will wear. But why the hell they don't have 10w30, when their own user manual suggests it. And do I need to alter my startup / warming up procedure with this new oil?

Honestly no clue. Due to the lack of a fuel gauge I presumed that the bike would go for a while in reserve before stalling but I was wrong, I was left stranded nearing the Kerala border and I had to push the bike across past the Tamil Nadu border to fill fuel, the bike being light was a boon cause I can't imagine doing the same with a Royal Enfield.

Jokes apart I guess I'm the only guy I know of who ran out of fuel in one state and pushed the motorcycle across to the next state to refill.

Hey! Guys i bought platina on 2nd. I'm facing a problem. While accelerating and deaccelarating between 20-50kmph some noise comes from the bike. The noise appears after i change the gear and gear gets engaged. Noise is like an unpleasant harsh click.
Can anyone help me out with this?

That's the chain and sprockets clicking when power is transferred to the drive train. Very clumsy.

So is it a serious issue. I still need to cover 300kms to qualify for the first service.

Just ignore and move on. But if uncertain do get a professional opinion. Use your best judgement.

I think I'll wait for the first service since I don't know any local mechanic nor do i know how chain and sprocket work is done.
                      Thanks for the advice

At what speeds do you upshift and downshift your gears?

I'm shifting the gears at optimum speed like 2nd around 10, 3rd around 20, 4th around 30. And while cruising at the same gear noise still comes at the first second of acceleration and same when i leave the accelerator to deaccelarate.

Describe the issue in detail, are the gears failing to engage or is the clutch sticking?
Best means of finding out would be by setting the bike on main stand (so that your rear wheel is freely rotating) with the engine idling try upshifting and downshifting without using clutch. If you feel the bike is shifting without any issues then that would mean that your clutch is sticking, in which case try going in for an oil change.

You might be very light cause below are my shifting speeds.

                              1~2 - 20 kmph.
                              2~3 - 35 kmph.
                              3~4 - 50 kmph.

At around 2.2K kms today morning she topped out at 90 kmph on the Speedo on a slight incline.
