I always wash my bike in the evening. I use Ariel / surf excel liquid with 1 cap : 5 lit water. After washing I use a dry cloth and wipe out droplets. For polishing you can buy any products like shine n go, Sheeba, vista. I use vista which is available in Bangalore shell petrol station.Originally posted by Adwait.R View PostHi,
Once I went to a village near Pandharpur which was approx 200 kms from Pune with my wife. That was my 1st long distance trip since getting the bike. Bike is definitely comfortable but only if you take break between your journey. Although I never went above 90 kmph, it can cruise at 100 with pillion. Road conditions can make more or less comfortable. Maybe other RTR owners will share their own experience.
AFAIK dealers are getting 1-2 bikes of Fi + ABS version because of low demand/higher cost of such variant. But they might be able to make it available if you book it considering that you have made payment for it. Its better to call their customer care regarding this.

Your suggestion might not work when I have to stop all of a sudden but still I will keep this in mind.

Can someone please suggest me something on this.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
Hi guys, finally got my first bike and so far I'm loving my choice ^_^ Odo was around 10kms. I'm guessing it's normal since it's ridden down to RTO for registration? Got a trash helmet as freebie and also some fuel ^_^ I'm kind of new to biking, but the bike seems very beginner friendly and forgiving. I have ridden a fz and rc200 before. This one feels similar to fz but with more power. Gears and clutch is so much better than RC200, In which I used to struggle to find neutral. (maybe it's just badly maintained), Ridden over 30 kms today in the city, felt a bit of heat on the right side other than that I have nothing to complain about. Also I'm over 182cms and skinny, I can tuck in my legs pretty comfortably and have no issues with posture. Also, thanks Harry for the tips regarding PDI. I did check screws and nuts, everything seemed well put together, hopefully this ownership experience goes well ^_^

I have 2 silly questions: Showroom guys didn't have a manual in stock, they told me it'll be given in a week. I don't feel like waiting for a week, Can I find user manual online anywhere?
So the showroom told me first service is either 500kms or 1 month whichever comes first. Is it correct? Because usually I see the first service will be at 1000 kms. 500kms seemed a bit odd. (Excuse my poor knowledge if I'm wrong)TVS Apache 200 RTR 4v (2019-Forever)

Showroom people is not giving the manual at the time of delivery.
This is not limited to TVS alone. Even other dealerships are practising the same.
However I got mine at the time of delivery itself along with medical and tool kits.
But my doubt is, why a manufacturer can’t provide one manual for each bike? So that there should not be an issue in handing over the manual to the owner at Day 1 itself.
I have no idea about online pdf document for the same.
But I suggest you to check every pages in this ownership topic and you might find one.
Regarding the service interval, yes the Manual says first service must be at 500-750 Kms or 1 month whichever comes earlier.
For safer side, showroom people will tell the minimum kms that is 500.
I have already received a text message from TVS for first service reminder, but still I didn’t get RC book on my hands. When Life Throws You A Curve..

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
I got my manual today, roughly one week after getting the bike from Hare Krishna TVS, Goregaon. Good timing since I'm at 475km and need the service coupons. Pretty good dealership experience apart from this little niggle.

Follow-up question: Did you go to the service center in Charkop for your first service yet? How much were you charged?Originally posted by lone_wolf7508 View PostMy overall experience was good. What I highlighted earlier was a case of overcommitment by one salesperson. You cannot judge the whole dealership based on that. Mr Sunil, who is the manager there, is very scrupulous about any commitments he makes. I complained to him about this particular incident and was assigned a different point of contact with whom I had a good experience. I am yet to experience the after-sales service. So, I cannot comment on that.

By the pictures you posted, it seems you have bought a wrong sized helmet, seems very loose.
A loose fitting helmet is not much of use.
Try to get a helmet that fits snugly without creating any pressure point.
Dont get me wrong brother, just imforming you as many guys make this mistake, i also did back in the day.

Hi Rahul, you're correct about it being loose and I understand it's bad. It's not too loose though, couldn't find the right size. Is there any solution for it? Like extra padding or something? Sorry if I'm going OT here.Originally posted by Rahul.g View PostCongrats on your new ride!

Anyway coming back to bike, few observations.
1. Doesn't start in the morning without choke. Showroom guy told me it's normal, but my friend's fz starts without any choke in first crank (the first version, carb model) So should I be worried?
2. Today I got the message "check speed sensor". It went off once I restarted the bike. Can anybody shed some light on it.
3. Maintenance of matte paint. It's a dust magnet. Just water wash is enough or should I use any products?
Apart from these, the bike is a gem. Was a bit skeptical before purchase as I was confused between NS and Apache. People told me Apache is for short people and it doesn't have power of NS200. Now after owning I feel I've made the perfect decision. 140kms done so far, couldn't ride much because I use cab for office.TVS Apache 200 RTR 4v (2019-Forever)

First measure your head and see what size you are, then if the size difference is too much changing the padding wont do you any good. You will have to get a new helmet.
Now lets say you're a size M and you have bought a size L then changing the padding will do the job.
You can check online how to measure your head size.

1) Carb needs some tuning. But let us not disturb it for the first 500kms/1st service.Originally posted by w4rrior View PostHi Rahul, you're correct about it being loose and I understand it's bad. 2) Check speedo sensor may show up if the key is on and the bike is stationary for more than 3 minutes. It'll go if you turn off the key and turn on again or if the bike is on the move. Appears irrespective of the position of the kill switch.

You're right about the 2nd one. Tried keeping the key on for few minutes and it happened again, guess it's all normal. Thanks for the help!
About carb tuning, showroom guy told me cold starts is normal. So I suppose the service guys also will tell me the same thing? Anyhow let's see how it goes. If they don't do it, I'll try to do it myself. I've gone through sportztourer's video of carb tuning, hopefully I don't screw it up.TVS Apache 200 RTR 4v (2019-Forever)
