Hey, I was meaning to ask this before that the carb version of the Apache 200 too has the ABS icon on the console which lits up on startup.

But as the carb version doesn't have ABS, why did they give it? Does it have a purpose?

Do they plan to provide an upgrade to the non-ABS variant once the FI+ABS variant is available? That would really be great!

Dude this has already been discussed to death in this thread and others.

If you were at TVS management would you approve the use of two different consoles for the ABS and non-ABS version (with the singular difference between them being the ABS light) ...most definitely not.

Don't think that any company would offer to retrofit ABS since I imagine it to be a complex task. The only reason i responded to you is to warn you of showroom salesman who are definitely cheating you if they are saying that it can be done (its just an excuse for stock clearance) in case you are looking at getting this bike.

Also, if you are looking for a bike and are ok with single channel abs look at the equivalent bajaj one (saw somewhere that bajaj has started offering it).

Well, I already got the Apache so no worries, I'm fine with no ABS. And no, I wasn't fooled by the salesman with any promises. I just asked because I saw the icon & had the thought that apparently many others had as you mentioned. I didn't go through the entire thread so there's that too.

But apart from not using different consoles for ABS/non-ABS variants, they could possibly provide the optional upgrade as it's actually not a tedious job. On the contrary, its pretty straight-forward as many examples have been tried (unofficially of course) Most notably with the Apache 180. And it could possibly boost the sales too. Not a bad idea after all!

Battery is not drained, also the starter is not damaged. i can crank the engine. But the engine is not coming to life.
How to check the points 3 and 4. Please guide.

          2) Starter damaged
          3) Fuse blown
          4) Spark plug choke up

If the issues is one of the above you can either check it yourself with the help of manual or online videos or with the help of a local mechanic. If you are skeptical about safety with the local guy, be present there while check up.

But if you think the issue is something else, you can always go with the SVC option as it's safe & a less hectic alternative.

#Note - One more thing you can is trying the slope start method (Pushing the bike ahead & start while in gear). If your bike starts by this method then you can be sure that the problem lies with electrical system & the rest is just fine. I recommend this option before trying anything else.

          Hope this helps!

Point 3 & 4 are mentioned in detail in your service manual. How to check & replace the fuse and how to check spark plug too. The detailed points are too lengthy to explain here. If you lost the manual, try downloading it from the official website.
But I was wondering if you tried starting by push method. Because if you did & the engine didn't start, then the problem isn't electric. You may have to take it to the SVC or local mechanic at least. Usually, there isn't an issue because most engines start with this method. You should definitely try that.

Even if I am, it's not for a long time. So it all depends on how long your bike hasn't been used. Once started, it won't be a problem for at least a day but the next day you may have to use choke & get the heat up.

One thing you can try is "not to accelerate while ignition." Let the engine crank up on its own. I've experienced it many times that if I rev while ignition, the engine won't start. But once the engine starts, you can rev to check if it's started.

Other than that, I haven't experienced any other issues yet. Hope this goes as expected.
I was facing this issue as well sometimes but not all the times, I switched to shell. There after no cold start issues for me.

Hi my front break travel distance is long and also blocked while applying break. My back breaks are not at all responsive. When I apply the more pressure it tends to lock easily with out progress in breaking. I explained this in 3rd service. They told break pads are replaced in back break and master cylinder valves are cleaned in front. After service breaking performance is even worse. Front and back is not all responsive. Does anyone else faces this problem.?

Thanks! I'll try this next time. And no, I haven't experienced braking issues as it's a new bike (10 days). It's seems all good till now. Hope this stays long term.

                      Hi Abhimanyu,

First 3 gears of Rtr 200 are short and its normal to reach those rpm's. Also, the stock setting of rear shock is well balanced and doesn't requires any alterations.

                      Thanks,
                      NS

                        or tightning the tappets
make sound of engine more smooth??

                          The 1st is short!

                          2nd maxes at 81
                          3rd maxes at 109.

                          Not sure how that's short?😛

That's not possible. The first two gears are really short. Even 40kmph on the second gear, the engine starts wailing begging to shift.

Try it. Everyone under estimates this motor.

It's not about underestimating. The engine is really good and most of owners are happy with it. However we do not prefer to keep it on the boil every time. Engine asks for upshifts near 5k in initial gears.

                                Thanks,
