Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
12 1/4 turns equals 3 full turns, 5 180° turns mean 2 and a half turns, he said it also works with 10 1/4 turns, that again means 2 and a half turns. Everything more or less is around 2 and a half to 3 turns. Try it out. It won't make much difference I guess (I'm not sure 100% but the angles and turns seems logical)Originally posted by vrkoppula View PostThanks buddy... Will change it to that setting. Heard somewhere that the factory seeking is around 5 180 degree turns.. But I will try your setting.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
UPDATE: Showroom guys were actually bluffing about ABS. They said that they are accepting the bookings for ABS + FI combo and will deliver whenever it gets launched.Originally posted by 2- stroke View PostHey fellow bikers!
This is my first ever interaction on xbhp.
So i just confirmed with the TVS's vehicle passing hub of north region (ChambhaGhaat, Solan), which they claim they are, that the FI variant is indeed having ABS (did not know whether it'll be dual or single channel).
They said itll be delivered within 10-15 days after pre booking. Thats where I'm headed now.
Bad karma for TVS for launching it without any notification.
Cheers!

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
Guys help me out i'm at the crossroads here.
The first thing i liked about this bike was the FI and ABS, as it was written on TVS's website. Finally made my mind about buying it.
Went to local showroom, they said that they don't have not a slight idea if such variant exists. Some even said that company isn't manufacturing them.
And then finally after almost a year FI variant gets launched, that too without ABS. On the other hand, its counterparts (NS200) now comes with ABS.
I really want to buy RTR200 and not the NS200 but will have to if ABS isnt made available in the former. If anybody has any information regarding the retrofitting of the ABS after its officially released, please do tell. If it is possible then i'll buy the Fi one and install the ABS later.
Cheers!

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
So my 4 day old RTR 200 was parked at the society's Basement. The Parking space is confined and hence I never use handle lock so that if needed someone can move my bike easily and get there's out. But some dumb f**k (probably unware of the handle lock thing) have lifted the bike using driver seat and now seat is out of it's place. It's not locking now, have been trying since morning. My guess the lock might got broken or the seat bracket is dislocated. Any help would be appreciated guys it's only 4 days old and I have only riden it 25 KM ..it's 29 on odo...4Km was already there on the day of Delivery.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
Issue started again yesterday. My battery got dried after using self start for 10-15 mins. Took the help of the local mechanic to start the engine. Identified two issues, one is spark plug other one is the dusty air filter.Originally posted by hemnath View PostI am able to make my bike start today. I engaged to apply the choke for 10 mins. kept constantly hitting the self for 3-4 times and give a break for 1 min, and then tried. Tried rotating the back wheel manually about 10-20 km speed. Tried the self, the engine came back to life. Will check for the same issue tomorrow, if it does appear again, will definitely take it to the svc.
Bike is just 5k kms driven. I was convinced to change the spark plug, but the air filter change was something i didnt expect. The air filter was so dirty, i dont have any other options other than changing it. Tvs recommends us to change the air filter for every 12k kms, but i dont think so.

Most probably the lock may have got dislocated and either you can set yet yourself or have a mechanic do it for you and for reference you should compare the positions of lock from a RTR 200 which you have access to.Originally posted by sanz112 View PostSo my 4 day old RTR 200 was parked at the society's Basement. Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
Hi,
Sorry for your issue. It definitely enrages when people mess with your bike especially a new one! I too got my 200 3 weeks ago.
So, the thing with back seat lock is, it doesn't usually lock in the first attempt. I think it wasn't locked beforehand. It happened to me too. I was trying to lock it but it didn't & when I looked at it the next day, I thought someone messed with it. But that wasn't the case with me.
So, maybe as you said, someone may have lifted the bike using back seat but it would be hard that the seat came out just by pulling. That's why I think it wasn't locked in the first place.
The trick is first to tilt the seat from the rear end & insert it in the lock & then press the front end hard until you hear a click sound. This sound confirms the lock. If it doesn't sound, then the seat hasn't locked yet, even if it looks like it has. Try this & confirm. Also, make sure the hole under the seat is not blocked as the seat lock has to enter that hole uninterrupted.
But if this doesn't work, & that lunatic did ruin your lock, then you may have to check it out at the service centre.
Also, I read your previous post about not getting insurance & service booklet. You can get the service book when you go for collecting the invoice & insurance. Even I didn't get the book for a week (I bought the bike from PCMC).
And legally, you can't drive the bike without registration & the dealer will tell you the same if you ask. But practically, the police would allow you up to 80-85 km (If caught) as I confirmed it personally. I haven't yet received registration number but I have driven almost 350 km.
Constantly follow up with your dealer for registration as they don't look at your registration on the said timeline. My dealer took 3 weeks to pay road tax & send the confirmation.
Hope this helps!

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
Thanks man, actually after trying thousands of time since morning I have handed over the bike to the service center guys to fix the issue. They too were unable to lock the seat and asked me to leave it with them for a day. I agreed since I'm not riding the bike in the city without registration since I'm not from Maharashtra and is unfamiliar with the Marathi language and cops do favor someone who can speak Marathi well here. I don't wanna give unreasonable bribe to these cops for riding my own bike.Originally posted by dark_enforcer View PostHi,

By the way, I too bought it from Pimpri Chinchwad "Sai Baba Sales Hinjewadi" to be specific. Damn, I would die if I have to wait for that long, 3 weeks and your bike still not registered what the hell, my friend's Royal Enfield classic 350 got registered in less than 2 weeks.

VFM combo is the MRF Zapper FY1+Masseter.Originally posted by devdebabrata View PostHi All,
What is the ideal range on ODO for replacement of tyres. My stead came with stock TVS tyres, currently ODO is at 8800+, I experience a lot of skids and feel that the tyres should be replaced. Will replacing them with Pirellis be an ideal option? What can be the cost approx.?

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
Usually, tyre life in years is approximately 4-5 years for front & 2-3 for rear, with average use. But if you go by kms, you don't generally have to replace before 25-30K if the use is not so rigourous & the roads are of average condition.
But the feel is also important. If you can see the visual wear & transition is not so smooth, you can choose to replace.

Myself Nakul Baliga from Mysuru.
I own a RTR 200 4v since January 21 2017,and I have few things to say about my experience with the bike.
I can say it as a review as I have clocked 11k kms [emoji1] .
The bike felt smooth since the beginning and hasn't changed a bit yet. The throttle response is good and the mileage is as expected of a 200C motorcycle.
The bike does a top speed of 130km/h,but starts vibrating after 110km/h.
There are things TVS could've included/improved like:
-fuel injector, ABS & Pirelli tyre version availability
-better headlamps
-bugs like gear sensor faulty (will get replaced if within warranty period) and the display.
-overall availability of spares like the body parts(front mudguard and other parts which are part of the colour scheme).
But there is a catch, for the price they are selling the bike (₹110000)-(when I bought it),the bike is worth every penny and can easily do the task of highway riding and best for city travel!!😀.
Hope this review was helpful.
