Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
Can you do a Video on the Breaking Mod.Originally posted by ALI.R View PostHey. Not been active for a while and not ridden much either over the last year or so. Hopefully that will change soon. So I got this done by this brilliant dude who only does lighting work. And having seen how it needed to be done, I would recommend a lot of caution and patience if one is to go ahead with the projector mod. Primarily because the headlight casing on the RTR is tiny and almost fits nothing apart from stock bulbs or cheapo Leds. So the guy had to carefully grind/cut out a bit of plastic inside the casing to make more room and fit the projector/shroud.
My setup was sourced from https://feretrofit.com and cost 7000/- inclusive of installation charges.
I am keeping my fingers crossed that the headlight visor holds and doesn't crack much as it's a tight fit with almost no breathing space inside. That is why I am thinking of buying a spare headlight casing and keeping it just in case it goes sideways. The same guy had done a projector set-up on my old FZ16 and it held perfectly for more that 2 years before I sold the bike off. So it should work this time too.
Apart from the projector mod, I have managed to improve the braking performance by simply using a Pulsar 220 (BS4) steel braided brake line instead of the rubbish stock on. That is one change I'd recommend to all.
Finally, my trusty neighborhood mechanic just completed converting someone's non slipper clutch RTR 200 to a Slipper-clutch one by installing the updated gear box (with minor amendments)available at TVS workshops. I am trying to get hold of the owner and take a spin and if I find it to be working like slipper clutches should, will post an update here.
Cheers.

Hi Irfan
Can answer only on Point 2 & 3 as I have FI variant without ABS.
The ODO starts showing TRIP-F automatically once the Low Fuel indicator glows, after running for 0.5-1 .0 KM distance (with the indicator glowing). I have run upto 60 KM once the low fuel indicator glowed (in conservative mode) with some fuel still available and i usually get an average of 38 KMPL. So the reserve should be approximately 2.5 LLast edited by prashantbhat25; 04-12-2019, 01:24 PM.

For the 4th point, Give sometime to the break. It will have the jibe post 1000-1200km on odo. Meanwhile, ask svc to do the proper cleaning of the brakes. My way is apply 60-70% pressure on front and remaining on rear.Last edited by imashish2789; 04-17-2019, 01:40 PM.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
Hi everyone , Hope you all doing fine. Kindly help me to choose which aftermarket Engine oil to be used ?
Currently I am sticking to stock TVS FS TRU 4 OIL with ODO reading as 10,000+ KMS .
I need to change the oil . As you all been familiar to this , suggest me a good one .
I'm confused about different brands and types !!
It would be helpful to many ,if this topic is discussed. Kindly mention the oil drain interval and the name .
Thanks,

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
The aftermarket oils used mostly in this bike are Motul 5100, 7100 and 300V. I've seen various drain intervals being quoted for each of these oils, so I refrain from commenting on that. Other oils that can be used are Mobil1, Liqui Moly Street/Street Race. About the oil grade, you can use 10w30, 10w40 or 5w40.Originally posted by Aswinlogi View PostHi everyone , Hope you all doing fine. Kindly help me to choose which aftermarket Engine oil to be used ?

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
Hi guys,
Gave my bike for first free service. Going to collect it in the evening. Service center guy told me the oil is going to cost around 700rs (TVS synthetic oil) Is it that expensive? Motul seems better option for that price.TVS Apache 200 RTR 4v (2019-Forever)

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
TVS synthetic oil costs Rs.550/ltr whereas motul 7100 costs Rs.770/ltr. RTR200 needs 1.2litres of engine oil, thats why SVC quoted Rs.700 for TVS oil which is still lesser than motul's 1 litre cost.Originally posted by w4rrior View PostHi guys,

Until you're on company service, you can't opt for other engine oils. If you tried manually to change the oil, there are chances that they may void your warranty.Originally posted by w4rrior View PostHi guys,

So patience my friend! Patience!

It's not a straight fit is it? I believe you have already posted about fitting after doing some adjustments in the thread some time ago.Originally posted by ALI.R View PostAS200 visor.
Whether the KTM knuckle guard fits apache 200? Those are really good ones? What are other knuckle guards you considered before trying this?
Have you tried KTM LED blinkers?
