I don't think this mod will be possible in the Apache 200. It has no spring outside the clutch case (the only spring(s) are inside the clutch case). [I might've misunderstood you here.]Originally posted by Zapps View Post

I Own the white RTR 200 ABS. Please choose, white if you're really into it, and you can spend a lot of time and care for your bike. Because the white really wears off very quickly. It's been only just 1 month for me, already my bike looks like an old one. few times I dropped the bike, while taking the 'U turn', unable to handle the weight of the bike. The scratches are almost like 'On your face' kind of thing. Also the Teflon coating doesn't really work on white color. So choose carefully.Originally posted by Harry J View PostHello Apachians.

After a lot of confusion in my mind and discussion in “What bike” topic here, I have decided to book APACHE RTR200 2.0 ABS in White-Red colour.
As owners, please let me know what are the things I must take care while booking and also while taking delivery (any special PDI for RTR?)
What are the tax, insurance amount and cost breakup details ?
What should I understand about their charges and how to check if there is any hidden charges by the dealer.
I live in Madurai TN.
I paid the 1.40 lacks for the bike including 5 years own damage protection insurance (which doesn't come in the usual On-Road price).
If you don't want that, bike 1.34L on-road, anything more than that ask your dealer about the price breakup.
For this amount you have two options, Fz 25 (of course without any ABS or so) and you have fully loaded RTR 200.
All the best! The bike is really awesome, just make sure you're familiar with the bike fully, before opening that throttle wide open!!

Thanx 0001vashishtha for response. Although what you said is the issue i am facing and dont want any lube on rear wheel rim. Actually, I heard that Black is the toughest to maintain (any bike, Not RTR alone).
So I thought of getting a white one.
Also white is readily available near my place and I can get it at the earliest.
Only 1 unit of Carb ABS (white-red) is available and when I asked the dealer about stockyard quantity, he said only one unit is available and also this bike is not fast moving in my locality. So, the bike will be delivered only on order basis.
But it will be better if there are few more number of the same variant, so that I can check all the bikes thoroughly and choose one.
Scratches will be more visible in black than white right?
At lastI think whatever Colour I choose, the results will be based on my maintenance part. What you say ?

Use kerosene/ diesel on the rims to clean them followed by liquid detergent to remove residual diesel. This is the first time I own a white one. The brighter the color, tougher it is to maintain. Blue and black were easier to maintain based on my experience. I had my troubles with the yellow, now I troubling with white.
White will obviously look better in crowded traffic. But it needs some good maintenance. Even though I had my share of experience with the bikes, This one is really tough to balance the weight. It always tend to fall down while turning, I'm 5'8 and 85 KGs, still I find it it tough to balance this bike on dead slow turning. While on the move you don't feel the weight, but while you had to move it on your feet or had to turn it on your feet, this is really heavy. Because of this, I've put this bike down 3 times already in road while taking U turns and made myself feel ashamed. I'm with the bikes for almost 15 years, but this is the first time falling down.
Due to all these, I had to buy the woodland boots, which increased my height by 2 inches. After which I feel very comfortable balancing the weight.
So be prepared for the fall downs and scratches till you get yourself fully familiar with the bike.

I’ll re-consider my choice of color. However I have ridden this bike for some 100 kms within city limits and so I hope I can balance the machine.When Life Throws You A Curve..

I faced similar problems with bikes in my initial years. What helped me is practicing(off busy hours) in parking lots and in my native, where traffic is minimal. Please wear riding gloves and a proper fitting helmet while practicing, and ofcourse while on the road. I am merely saying this to cultivate a habbit of riding in appropriate gear. Its a confidence booster and you might actually not wish to ride without gear once youre used to it. Its like insurance.
Back to the point, U-truns can be overwhelming as we've got to manage the weight of the bike and the clutch/throttle. Having a pillion doesnt make matters any better.
Let me come to the throttle part. Its important to have control on the throttle. Practice with varying amounts and find the right balance. You will want to stay off loose gravel and practice preferably on tarmac.
Also, while practicing you may use the rear brakes for stability, please remember to only slightly grace the brake with your foot. Dont stamp on it or progressively increase the pressure on the lever. You'll notice drastic differences in stability and smootheness when you use rear brakes but again find the right balance and dont overdo the rear brake. You might end up performing weird stunts. I am too learning to get a grip of my rear brake.
I would also suggest keeping the feet off the ground when turning, that way you ensure that you're learning the right technique. On slower speeds try to manage the weight with the clutch or throttle inputs or counterweight. Nobody rides bikes with their feet on the ground.
For theoretical knowledge, you could research some more about countersteering and counterweight. Youtube is a great place to start.
This will not only help you turn better but also increase confidence in crammed areas or in slow moving traffic.

Is anyone using 14-45 sprocket setup?
If yes then, is there any improvement in top end or does the bike still struggle post 120 kmph?
Also im going to convert a old gen RTR 160 to 200 4v
I actually was running a 250cc setup previously, got a different engine to convert to 200 4v for daily usage and touring.
About the 250 cc setup
It had a big bore kit
Head from 200 4v
6 plate clutch assy.
Flat slide carb
Free flow exhaust

Today I find a very unique survival kit to keep on your bike from my colleague.
It consists of :
power bank / basic phone - always kept in bike switched off, for emergency purpose
potassium permanganate - doubles as fire igniter when combined with glycerin and used for antiseptic when mixed with any water.
glycerin - used for igniting fire and can be used as dry skin care.
knife - all purpose
scissor - all purpose
steel wire (very very thin) - to tie down anything
Hope this is useful to you guys, I'm gonna prepare this kit.

Just a compact sized one that you can fold and fit in your pocket.
I always carry a fold-able small knife with myself, never once I was asked intriguing questions by police.
