So something unfortunate happened this morning. There was a patch of gravel on the road which leads into a corner, and the bike slipped while I was riding it. The bike got scraped along the road on its right hand side. There are a few scratches here and there, but the rider footpeg is broken, and the handle seems off. The bike leans towards the right when I ride it. I observed the forks but nothing seems bent. I just wanted to know what could be the repair costs for fixing the handlebar, considering everything is normal with the forks, and if it is a good idea to claim insurance on it. The bike is just 6 months old with 4k kms on the odo.

That's unfortunate to hear mate. Hope you're all fine, unscathed.Originally posted by salman97 View PostSo something unfortunate happened this morning. Claiming insurance just to replace the handlebars isn't advisable since yours is a relatively new bike. It's not going to cost you more. If you have faced any other major issues like a bent fork or broken panels etc, you can go ahead with the claim. Also, footpeg can be replaced too. All these are available for cheap. Get the forks checked for any misalignment and bends too, just to be on a safer side.Honda Dio [2010 - 2011]

Thanks for the reply! Yes, I'm absolutely fine, escaped with just minor bruises. How do I figure out for myself if the forks are misaligned or bent?Originally posted by Ashwiin Napster View PostThat's unfortunate to hear mate. Hope you're all fine, unscathed.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
Typically, if a bike's forks are bent, it sways to one side when the handlebar is left free. Since you've already posted that the bike is swaying towards the right, i think the fork is bent. Get it checked at the svc and take necessary action. If it is costing too much and if you cannot afford it, claim insurance. But if it is minor issues, then i'd suggest replacing without claiming insurance.Originally posted by salman97 View PostThanks for the reply! Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
One of the SVC guy said the same thing to me for heating. ‘Heating issue is common with Apache’. And I’m also facing noise issue with my bike. They couldn’t resolve it. Mine has just completed 4K km in odo.Originally posted by sagarchandrac View Post* lean carb- it started after service. Regularly I will maintain 5-6 litres of petrol- How to overcome this issue?
*Regarding chain noise- it started after service. Even I suspect they have screwed up alignment . I have complained about it they said to svc. They said noise is usual in Apache bikes.
Iam frustrated. This is my first bike.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
There is no heating issue with the Apache 200. Either you are running a lean carb or the oil needs replacement or both maybe. The stock oil TVS TRU4 is good for only 2.5-3k kms.Originally posted by bishalc7399 View PostOne of the SVC guy said the same thing to me for heating. ‘Heating issue is common with Apache’. Also don't trust SVC people in each and everything. They'll say anything to avoid doing work.Last edited by ayrus; 01-22-2019, 08:22 PM.

Oil was changed at 600 km and when second service was done I’ve asked them to change the oil but they said that the oil in use is synthetic one and can run till third service at 6k.Originally posted by ayrus View PostThere is no heating issue with the Apache 200. Regarding the noise I’ve taken the bike for 2 times.
1st time- they have adjusted the clutch wire.
Problem not resolved.
2nd time- left front indicator was loose and they have tightened it.
Front wheel was removed and lubrications done still problems persists and I’m learning to live with the noise.
Besides, I’m feeling sudden disappearance of power at above 5k RPM in 4th gear.
And gear shift indicator is lying me every now and then. It shows 3 in 2nd gear and comes back to show 2 again. It happens every now and then.

Tru4 - 2500 to 3000 kms, Motul 5100 - 3000 to 3500 kms, Motul 7100 - 4500 to 5000 kms, Motul 300V - ~3000 kms. This is an air cooled engine and no oil will last 6000 kms.Originally posted by bishalc7399 View PostOil was changed at 600 km and when second service was done I’ve asked them to change the oil but they said that the oil in use is synthetic one and can run till third service at 6k.

Try to localize the source of the noise. Trying some random things won't fix it. I've have chain noise and fixed it. Now I'm getting some noise from the front of the bike and I'll do some DIY to fix it.
Get the carb properly tuned. It should solve both the heating and power loss.
Yeah, the gear indicator does play spoilsport at times.

So the power delivery variable most be associated with the oil and I don’t have much heating issues. Noise is there.Originally posted by ayrus View PostTru4 - 2500 to 3000 kms, Motul 5100 - 3000 to 3500 kms, Motul 7100 - 4500 to 5000 kms, Motul 300V - ~3000 kms. Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
Try to localize the noise. If present only while on the move, it could be chain noise. If present while on the move and while standing, it could be loose body panels, number plate (I'm having it; planning to use foam tape) or from the engine.Originally posted by bishalc7399 View PostSo the power delivery variable most be associated with the oil and I don’t have much heating issues. Oil won't usually cause loss of power, especially at a particular rpm. I still think it's could be the carb.

Hi ayrus,Originally posted by ayrus View PostRide for 15-30 mins. Stop the bike somewhere, put in neutral and observe the idle rpm. Rev till 5k rpm and release the throttle. It should drop to the idle quickly without any lag.
Today morning I have checked idle RPM. It was not idle it was not idle it's keeps increasing and decreasing. Also I have rev till 5k rpm and released the throttle , there is a lag will it being dropped.
Can you please help me in this to over come this problem.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
Did you note down the exact value?? It should be constant at 7 bars (1500 rpm). If it oscillates between 6 and 7 bars (1250-1500), better to ride for some more time and see if it stabilizes. However lag when rpm drops is indicative of a lean setting.Originally posted by sagarchandrac View PostHi ayrus,

I do love the bikes with analog tacho as you can observe even the small changes.
See the sportztourer youtube video on carb tuning. It should help.

Yesterday I have went through that video. It's little bit confusing. Can you help me with the screenshots, adjusting both ones.

The full carb tuning procedure requires you to increase the idle and adjust the AFR screw till you arrive at the best spot.Originally posted by sagarchandrac View PostHi ayrus,

That video basically tells you to fully close the AFR screw and open 3 full turns. No need to do anything else. BTW note down the number of turns while closing the screw.

Light sensors pcb usually cost less than a 100 bucks. One can get lamps for 2-300 odd of reputed make for home use.Originally posted by Anuj Agarwal View Post"AHO" is "ALWAYS HEADLAMP ON" and not "auto headlamp on"
if somebody gives sensors then the cost would shoot up to a good 5-10k just for the light sensing sensors
