Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
First service at 12k! I hope you meant 1200 kms.Originally posted by nick_Alok View PostMy bike has done 12k kms and recently done with the first service.
the chain needs a proper cleaning and a lube.
another point - In case you use a pressure washer to wash your bike frequently then stay away from the chain.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
Has anyone tried adding a headlight switch for the BS4 Model?
Can probably try swapping the switch gear for the Right Hand Side from the BS3 Model which has a switch for headlight.
SafexBikes.com is a one stop online solution for your need of Motorcycle Parts,Motorcycle Accessories,OEM Parts,Original Parts, Riding gears, Best Modification Parts.,,,,
Or can add a generic switch which people are using for hazard lights.

Oh!! My bad, yes it's 1200 kms. Sorry about that. So i guess service center doesn't provide chain lubing during first service, as it's been 20 days and chain started rusting.Originally posted by jomson13 View PostFirst service at 12k! I hope you meant 1200 kms.

Sorry, i meant 1200kms. Yes, that's what I thought, service was done at 700kms about 25 days back, how come chain gets rusted so soon, I've not used water to clean my bike as of yet, and it is parked below the shelter. That means serice center have not lubed the chain properly.Originally posted by kiran2508 View PostMaybe he referred as First paid service after the 4 free services!

Does anyone know a good accesories shop in south delhi? I want to add fog lamps to my apache 200 as I frequently travel to dehradun which is around 250 kms one side and usually I start in the morning and the highway is very foggy at this time of the year.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
Don't depend on them, they barely do the things properly, try keeping a bottle of chain lube spray or a gear oil and lube the chain yourself once 500-1000kms depending on your riding conditions.Originally posted by nick_Alok View PostThat means serice center have not lubed the chain properly.
Why do you want to do that? always on headlight is made mandatory for a safety reason and TVS has designed new electricals taking all this into consideration, if you do that it defeats the whole purposeOriginally posted by vspraneeth View PostHas anyone tried adding a headlight switch for the BS4 Model?.Last edited by kiran2508; 01-11-2019, 10:21 AM.Bajaj SuperFE 150 - Forever in my heart

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
Then what’s the purpose of DRL pal and why didn’t they follow AHO in cars? In broad daylight the headlight illumination is barely visible. Led drl is more than enough. It’s waste of energy about 55w. In actual they should have employed a light sensor to switch the headlights automatically depending upon the light ambience. That is what we should call as auto headlamp on( AHO) but this is CHO-compulsory headlamp on.[emoji12]Originally posted by kiran2508 View PostDon't depend on them, they barely do the things properly, try keeping a bottle of chain lube spray or a gear oil and lube the chain yourself once 500-1000kms depending on your riding conditions.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
Got my registration done yesterday. So, today, went on a night ride to South Mumbai. Got to know the bike a bit better. Suspension seems to be quite stiff. I do not know whether it is just me or others have felt it too.Originally posted by lone_wolf7508 View PostGot the delivery of my bike today. Rode a few kilometres from the showroom to my home.
First impression:
1) I had read that the suspension is softer than Dominar. However, it seemed stiffer than Dominar to me. But the Dominar I rode was well used. Hence, hoping the suspension will soften over time.
2) No major difference from my 150cc CBX Xtreme. But that may be due to the fact that I was riding in a subdued manner never going beyond 5k rpm.
3) Handling is good. It will be more evident when I ride freely.
Now that I will be riding the bike regularly, I want to know how much you can rev the engine during the run-in period. I have kept it to 5k rpm. Although the manual recommends riding below 50 km/hr, I did exceed that speed but not by much. The bike feels relaxed at 5k rpm even in lower gears which is a good thing. Feels like there is quite a bit of power on tap.

"AHO" is "ALWAYS HEADLAMP ON" and not "auto headlamp on"Originally posted by Aswinlogi View PostLOL [emoji16] YOU NAILED THE DAMN TRUTH!!!
if somebody gives sensors then the cost would shoot up to a good 5-10k just for the light sensing sensors

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
I can confidently say that a bike with headlight on is easier to note, even in daylight. It is not about illumination. Also no energy is wasted I guess. Not 100% of energy is used to charge the battery. So I don't think energy is 'wasted' by headlamp on.Originally posted by deepakmadhivanan View PostThen what’s the purpose of DRL pal and why didn’t they follow AHO in cars? Cost will be 1k max.Originally posted by Anuj Agarwal View Post"AHO" is "ALWAYS HEADLAMP ON" and not "auto headlamp on"

Agree with you. The headlamp does aid in visibility and i'm pretty sure it doesn't load the electricals too much.Originally posted by ayrus View PostI can confidently say that a bike with headlight on is easier to note, even in daylight. Just out of curiosity @deepakmadhivanan - what will you gain by keeping the headlamp off?

1. over inflated tyres - the dealers tend to do that so that they don't have to worry about vehicles lying in their inventory for a long time
2. the main seat will slightly soften over time and this leads to you feeling a bit more cushioned
more than the absolute bike speed or engine speed, it is important to go easy on the bike till the first oil change.
Going easy involves riding very sedately until the oil warms up, not riding in any specific gear for too long, easy acceleration and braking
