      1. The chain makes noise while running. I tried lubing it but the noise continues again after 2 3 days of applying the lube. Should I try loosing up the chain? I have heard it may reduce the noise.

      2. Should I opt for any other oil for the bike or the TVS one is fine?

      3. I want to increase the power output of the bike and I am thinking of buying a new filter. Should I or should I not? Does using an aftermarket filter cause any harm or a drop in mileage?

      Thanks in advance !
For chain noise after cleaning the chain try using white grease spray. Also if the chain is to tight then loosen it a bit. It helps in keeping the chain noise to minimal.

Till you are doing servicing from TVS you will have to use TVS oil. It is better but not the best.... You can change only if service center is offering any other engine oil....

About power increase I have no idea...I haven't done anything to increase power output.. this is more than sufficient for me....

Hi Ayush, where do you find the power lacking? Could you give us a little more details?

        Thanks

          1. The chain on the RTR200 is slightly on the noisier side. Lube it regularly to minimise it.

          2. You can use any other oil of the prescribed grade 10w-30 (JASOma). However, at least until you have free services left, I suggest you stick to the TVS oil. It's FS and of decent quality too

          3. Avoid aftermarket filters. Especially those conical k&n ones. There is almost no gain to be had from simply plonking a filter. In fact, in the long run it may adversely affect your engine

Just check the exhaust pipe. I had the same issue, came to know plastic bag was stuck due to heat under belly on exhaust pipe[emoji16] . Removed the pieces which was not burnt and stuck pieces burnt itself of.

I by far had no issues with my RTR 200.
Rode it to almost 4k km. Tour regular to short distance ride(100-300km)every weekend. Only problem is the factory fitted tyres. Skid a lot. Be ware if you are driving on a busy wet road. Pirelli's would be a great choice.

Pirelli's are great. My brothers bike skid and mine doesn't. Only difference Pirelli's [emoji4] . I am happy that I made decision to spend extra money for Pirelli's version. Abs one would be great [emoji20] sadly it's not available, even till date.

At 120 it jerked a bit once like the rev limiter cutting it, couldn't see the rpm at that time. Also after that it was misfiring for about 1 to 2 kms. Like the farting noise from silencer. Now I m scared to take it to 120+ speed. I had taken it to 117 before this but no problems that time. I thinking achieving 120+ speed will be a big task on this bike as u need plain traffic less roads which are rare in Mumbai. Do anybody have idea about this misfiring problem and high speed? 80-90-100-110 is butter smooth on this bike even 115 is quick to achieve but after that is a problem.
My rtr 200 has misfiring issues occasionally. I have a feeling this is due to water going into petrol tank due to heavy rains. I got it checked once and got repaired but i did not get a proper answer as to why this was happening. It still does that and then i took it to service center but it was fine. After a few days it again started the same issue. Does water usually go into the petrol tank? Or what could be the issue.

                  I feel i have got a faulty one.maybe

Most of us owners here haven't had any misfiring issues. The bike crosses 130 with no funny behaviour at all.

Water should ideally not be seeping into the fuel tank. Mine personally is parked in the open for office hours every day and regularly gets pelted with heavy rain this season. But not had any issues whatsoever.

Is your fuel cap a proper fit? The RTR fuel caps are often notoriously difficult to close after refuelling and I've heard of keys being bent as a result. Check for that. Alternatively it could also be a spark plug issue or the air intake pipe being blocked off somehow and messing with the AFR.

                      - As stated previously, an AS200 visor was used. Custom clamps were made from aluminium strips and painted black. (as it can be bent easily and is quite strong).

                      - One hole was required to be drilled at the bottom of the visor to bolt it to the number plate clamp.

                      - Four false chrome buttons (from a Unicorn according to the mechanic) were used to seal off the additional stock holes on the visor (a total of 4).

                      - two small pieces of shoe sole foam were used at the points where the visor is touching the instrument console to totally eliminate vibrations

                      - got a TVS Racing sticker done at the local graphics shop and it looks quite nice on the visor IMHO

                      Photos attached...

                      Hope the above helps!

can u tell me how did u attach the bottom of the visor to the number plate holder??

                        Hey.

There is a small bracket type extension behind the number plate holder. It was straightened down, then drilled a hole into it to insert the screw for attaching the windshield.

                        Hope that helps!

Booked mine! Was torn between red and grey but went for red because my car and scooter are already grey. It looked great, but I have a headful of grey also so this would just be too much of a grey overload lol.

I was sold on it theoretically, but the test ride really sealed it. This will be my first bike and for some reason I felt instantly at home, it's low CG (compared to NS200) feels great, the clutch is really forgiving. As a car driver I felt the power kept coming, so that's a new feeling for me.
