The update in this article mentions its unrelated to the ABS and FI version: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V ABS FI variant teased; gets official website . I believe its about a new TVS blog: https://www.tvsmotor.com/blog/. It came on their Facebook page last night. But I hope they do launch it in September.

Even Rushlane has updated their article: https://www.rushlane.com/tvs-apache-...-12201289.html. Though like they say, TVS had mentioned Q3 of this year and hopefully it will launch next month. I am basically waiting for ownership reviews and experiences before taking the plunge. Still confused between this and the Fz25 . But with many tappet noise and a few performance issues with the engine on the Fz, I am waiting to see how the 200 FI will perform. There are only one or two long term reviews of the FI variant with Auto magazines.

                  Not considering NS200?

Yes I have also given up on FZ25 due to the coin rattle valve tappet business. I want the FI variant more for the matte yellow than the FI.

The only other bike I am tempted to go for is the Duke 250, though the budget stretching required is too much haha.

                    Apache for now

No. I test rode it and its Ergonomics didn't suit me. I liked the Dominar thought. But due to its lower mileage (pretty good mileage considering the capacity and power on offer), took it off my list. Apache came in as I am an Apache fan boy having owned a RTR 160 . Fz seemed very similar to Apache after back to back test rides. It offered more grunt without compromising on fuel efficiency. But now everywhere , be it the ownership thread of Fz25 in xBhp, Facebook or other forums, there are many people facing issues with the engine. So feeling more inclined towards the RTR for now.

I will be buying only by Jan or Feb. Hoping Yamaha is able to sort out the issues with Fz25 and TVS launches the FI variant by then. If either of these don't work out, then will most probably go with the carb RTR 200 .

Makes sense...even I felt going for the FZ25 over the RTR200 is not worth it [emoji14]
Since ur waiting till Jan anyway, may I suggest checking out the products at the Feb Auto show bfr taking a call? Something new might come up

I was pretty set on FZ25 but even if you ignore valve tappet issue, does it seem enough value? The lights are bad, the instrument cluster is boring, the colours are uninspiring, the design is not significantly differentiated from other FZs. Not mentioning 2 valve and old school frame design, because they are not necessarily bad things, but they do not demand a premium.

The way I see it, it's ₹30k more for amazing torque and the higher displacement number. The FZ is completely devoid of any bells and whistles, and when you do that you really have to make sure the rest of the package is bomb proof. Which, as we're discovering, is not the case.

True. Even Hero will launch their 200cc bike. But I prefer waiting for a few months after a bike is launched and assessing ownership reviews. Every manufacturer irons out the niggles and issues in the subsequent batches. My wait till Jan is mainly due to financial constraints. Hence, won't wait any further than that. Since RTR seems to have minimal issues, will go for it. Also slightly hoping the new RTR 160/180 might launch by the year end.

True that. I would have been ok spending that extra 30k for Yamaha's reliability. But I am someone who frets over even the smallest unusual noise that comes from my machine and won't be able to have a full nights sleep until it is resolved. But another factor that affects my decision is that I will be in Kerala when I buy the bike. There Fzs are more common with more SVC options and Apaches the opposite. At the end of the day, I need a bike that takes care of me and I can take care of .

Hey everyone. I am new to this thread. I own a matte black carb variant of the apache rtr 200. The odo readings are around 4000km. There are few issues though:-

                              1. The chain makes noise while running. I tried lubing it but the noise continues again after 2 3 days of applying the lube. Should I try loosing up the chain? I have heard it may reduce the noise.

                              2. Should I opt for any other oil for the bike or the TVS one is fine?

                              3. I want to increase the power output of the bike and I am thinking of buying a new filter. Should I or should I not? Does using an aftermarket filter cause any harm or a drop in mileage?

                              Thanks in advance !

Just bought brand new apache 200. But while running for 45kms there was a smell like something burning is it okay for very first run?
