  • Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V

I brought an Apache 200 Titanium Grey. Got it on 2nd August. Got the first service. Getting a tepid sound now. Also the the rear wheel skids a lot while braking.

Can someone also suggest a good chain lube?
Also, where can I get a touch paint for the bike.

And which polish should I use to retain the matte finish of the bike?

      Guys, need some help.
My bike's tappets make some noise on cold start, but the sound is not that annoying.
Today I rode the bike for 4 kms in B2B traffic followed by riding at 70kmph for next 4. During decelaration, I was able to hear the kat kat sewing machine noise very clearly and bike lost the power for 5 seconds, as if engine is going to die.
After that, bike behaved normally for next 1 km.
Has anyone faced this issue? Could loose tappets be the reason for this behaviour. Is there anything else which needs to be fixed?

I have faced this issue thrice in last 2 weeks.
ODO reading is 5600 kms and service is due in next 2 weeks.

      Thanks
      NS

Hey guys, I am looking to buy a bike confused between rtr 200 and ns200. Currently using P180 2010 model. I have almost finalised rtr only doubt I have is its highway cruising speed. Can speeds of 100-110 be maintained. Also suggestions will be helpful. Thanks

RTR is a well built bike than ns200( i own ns200) . fit and finish is better than ns . but rtr 200 has a good low & mid range that is upto 80 90 kmph . ns200 has a good top end , can do 100 + kmph full day without even worrying about heating since it has liquid cooling like 4 wheelers.

This bike can do 100 to 110 all day long without breaking sweat (personal experience)

Oil cooled with ram air assist is more than sufficient for this bike be it on highway or bumper to bumper traffic no heating issues are there & 100 to 110 is the sweet spot for this bike for cruising on the highways

What would be the milage you will get when you are cruising on highway at this speed. I am interested in this bike, but the deal breaker for me is the different milage reviews from different owners.

Hii all, one of my friend want to buy this bike, but he wants to know -
                        1) what is the maintenance cost of this bike compared to other foreign company bikes like honda, yamaha and suzuki's
                        2) spare parts cost
                        3) what average will he get if he ride in the speed of 90-100 as his usage is 50-50 city highway.

Bought the bike home today. One issue that I'm facing is that the fuel lid is extremely tight and doesn't open easily at all. What should I do? Poured some chain lube but still doesn't work.
