Again changed the Gear sensor under warranty. No charge for the same. This sensor costing is cheap and so i think the quality is not good. It is only for Rs.150/-.
I checked it out personal when they changed it. Rest all was normal servicing which was done properly. This was the first time that i saw them servicing my bike personally as they told me to collect the bike in 3hrs so i waited there. I changed the Engine oil to Motul 5100 10W30 from TVS synthetic. Service center themselves were selling MOTUL so grabbed it for a change. Motul is anytime better then TVS. They told me to change the clutch plates also as its 16000kms up and the clutch plate as per their experience has become weak. But i thought otherwise and told them will change the same in next service. I didn't feel the clutch plates had become weak. Next service will be at approx. 20000kms so its ok for change.
Hi rakowli, congrats for completing the one year. Indeed it' s beautiful bike.
Is svc selling the original motul packed bottles or is it the Tvs Synthetic blue bottled engine oil?
Also, its surprising that clutch plates have become weak in 17k kms. These should last atleast 35-40k kms considering your riding style.

Thanks

However, the Sport Demon on the front has been really disappointing, to me at least. It seems they occasionally lack composure/grip and I found Michelins on my old FZ far better. Will definitely shift to them once adequate miles have been put on. I also wish TVS provided a 100 section front like all others do on the segment. Would make the bike more stable on highways and under hard braking

-during my purchase, was told on several occasions that ABS would be made available for retrofitting by June-July. But there is no news of it and clearly the sales agents were fibbing I realise now. It's a crucial miss and even the Gixxer SF has now been launched with an ABS option. Pisses me off :/

Would love to know about the things /updates I've missed out on this thread! Cheers.

Hi Ali

Welcome back. Just wanted to ask how is the windshield holding up. Wanted to do the same on my bike and just wanted to check if you have done a few long rides to check it usability on the highway (i am not really bothered by the looks).

Also, while you are here since you mentioned you had used the michelins before (i assume it michelin pilot street?) which one do you think is better Angel GT or Michelin (I am thinking if I should change the Remoras on the rear atleast...my experience with them has been mostly negative).

Regarding ABS, i remember telling a lot of prospective owners here not to believe the sales agents on stuff like retrofitting it (those guys will say anything to make a sale..ask them to give it in writing...then you get the whole story). Suzuki really did a good move with the ABS thing.

The fact that this bike was released so long ago and still doesn't have the ABS variant is disappointing to say the least.

Bhai. But something is better than nothing. Plus it just might be the difference between staying up or tasting gravel when grabbing that front brake in panic stops. . A lot of bikes with dual ABS are offering switchable modes where you can switch rear ABS off (supermoto mode). I think even the new D390 has that.

Hey Dovahkiin! Hope you are doing well.

The windshield was holding up wonderfully on the highways. Unfortunately some a**#$&$ thela which carries goods backed into my parked bike and cracked it. Even the number plate got twisted. Thankfully the headlight assembly survived miraculously. Stocks of those AS200 windscreen are low and I'll be replacing it soon.

It's totally worth it especially as our RTRs come with zero wind protection.

Coming to the tyres. Yes I used Pilot Street Radials on my FZ and absolutely loved them. The all weather grip they offered was amazing and seemed completely puncture proof (not one in 2 years). If I were given a choice, I'd choose a Michelin PSR set anyday over the Pirelli set provided by TVS. Make sure you buy the Thailand made set and not the Indian made one. The is a sizable difference in price and massive difference in quality.

The Angel GT (rear) however, on its own is great and extremely well received in international sports touring communities. Very good grip and long lasting. You can do some research on that. The front Sport Demon however is a different story altogether and I am not a fan. The difference in grip levels between the rear and front is evident under hard braking and it seems to lack composure.

I would also recommend changing tyres as a set. As the difference in grip levels between a used Remora front and a new Michelin rear would be quite big.

The ABS fiasco is bummer and I feel bit let down by TVS on this.

They are selling Original Motul packed bottles.
About clutch plates i also had doubt about becoming weak because i haven't felt much difference in pick up. So i pushed it to next servicing. Also the engine oil had become less in 3000kms of servicing. So SVC guy told me that maybe the clutch plates must have burnt which is causing to burn the engine oil. Lets see till the next servicing.

Hello all
I need advice on whether I should buy the RTR 200. I would appreciate it if you could compare it to your previous bikes - the positives and negatives.
My specific questions are :
1. Is the engine smooth ? I keep hearing it is better than the RTR180, but how good is it compared to the Unicorn?
2. How smooth are the gear shifts ? Again the Unicorn is the standard here.
3. Light clutch - I was impressed with the Hornet's super light clutch.
4. Niggle-free bike - I read about faulty gear sensors, anything else?
5. I am sure it has DC electricals, tubeless tyres and decent performance. Pillion is a problem. And the service centres are pathetic. Anything else?

Thanks

How much top end(speed) did you guys touched on this beautiful machine?
I made to 109kmph max and just done with 2 service.
After 2nd service bike is a lot smoother.
City rides are comfortable even in peak traffic Conditions. I can Cruse and find way to office and back in 20-30mins for 20km ride. I don't put much effort on bike.

Over all I'm happy the way RTR performance. But I feel tyres could have been better or I would have bought perillies.

I have made max. 130KMPH on this bike. But after 122KMPH the speed pick up is slow.

I'm thrilled to know that RTR can Cruse at that speed.
Have you made any performance tweaks with engine?
While I was making to 109kmph I could see red light was on after 7500rpm. So thought to slow down without causing and burnout to engine.

Thats not the cruising speed i hope u do understand difference between cruising & top speed. Thats the max my bike has achieved considering my weight. For achieving the top speed there are lots of factors Which plays the Major roll like weight, opposite wind Force, Tyre pressure.
coming to mods my bike is bone stock no mods till date & the red blinking light is the shift light Which is by default set on 7k rpm you can reset it according to your riding style. Mine blinks on 11k rpm 😉.

Yea i understand that. Even i Maintained 109kmph speed just for like 20-30 seconds may be. And yes i made my tweaks too i set it to 8500RPM.

How is your over all bike performance. I feel only the tyres is a bummer unless you are using the pirelli version of RTR.
Normal TVS tyres skids a lot.
Took out my bike on a ride to 320km destination and i did not feel any backache in single stretch of 80km straight. Heat dissipation is also very well controlled. Although i felt engine heat at foot pegs while was riding on. But let just say its normal.

Headlight could have been a little better which i felt is ok when it comes to city ride at the night but for highways i need more powerful headlamps going to replace my headlamp bulb soon.

Bike's performance is just superb one of the best in its class... Remoras are pretty decent but the wet grip is pretty bad.

Ride the with the MRF's the fz25 comes with. It judders in dry when cornering!

Wet, i was about to kill myself quite a few times.

Remoras are very decent tyres. But still Zapper S>Remora
