Follow rpms as opposed to speed during run in period, never ride at a constant rpm, keep varing the rpm and dont pull in the clutch when deaccelerating.
I say keep the rpm between 5 - 6k rpm and be gradual with the throttle, abrupt throttle input is not recommended.
Most importantly let the engine heat up to working temprature before riding, never a good idea to start on a cold engine.

The fuel level is not full. It is still in reserve only. The showroom people said they will fill 3 litres of petrol at the time of delivery but they didn’t.

However I didn’t fight with them and I filled just 2 litres and there may be 1 litre in the tank already.

Even if we consider 3 litres (as dealer said) + 2 litres (myself filled) it is 5 litres right ? Tank capacity is 12 litres.
Then that tube should not spill the petrol.

The rear seat is locked well, there is no issue in locking. But that tray under the seat is slightly visible under rear seat when we see it. I think it is designed as such.

I have not kept anything under seat as of now. I will keep first aid and till kits there later.

I have not yet gone above 5k RPM and top speed is 72 now.
Not gone above 60 except this time.

I can observe Mild burning smell at right side of the engine after 10-15 kms ride.
Since the bike is new, you will get the burning smell for few kms. That is the burning smell of the lubes and oils used in the engine. Dont go beyond 5k rpm. Maintain speed at 50-55max. Dont rev the engine too hard as the Duke guys do. Drive sensibly and wear helmet every time.

Regarding the rear seat, yes it will look awkward and questionable if the seat is properly locked or not, Unlock it once and lock it again and do hear the click sound. The tray shouldn't be visible.

Leakage issue shouldn't be present. check with the service centre once.

Gear position indicator doesn't work properly many time. For my vehicle it worked good till 1st service. Post that it has issues. every service, I do ask them to check it.

The engine is a beast. After run in period, you will notice that the engine is marvellous.

Last time i logged in you got newtyres and
        Exhaust replaced from sevice center.
Nothing major whatever changed is normal wear and tear. Have changed chain sprocket kit i think at 35000kms and no more using TVS engine oil. Because in TVS service center there is no stock of Synthetic oil which they used to pour earlier. Now all RTR 200 they are using either TVS semi-synthetic or Motul 5100 which as per my knowledge is of no use for RTR 200 as there will be heating issues. The manual itself say synthetic oil to be used but they use is semi-synthetic. So i carry the engine oil bottle with me whenever i take the bike for servicing. Average is still consistent at around 35-37 kmpl.

          Hi All,
What is the ideal way to downshift gears especially at sudden stoppage (like a car in front stopped all of sudden). I am finding that the gears are not shifting in such situations or while turning slowly. Sometimes even the shifter remains stucked downwards. However I hardly face this issue if I am doing Rev-matching while downshifting. I have highlighted this to SVC guys 'n' number of times. Servicing solves the issue but after a month post servicing same issue comes up. Is there really something wrong or it is just me getting paranoid. Need help as I am going to highlight this to TVS customer care.

Also I have noticed that due to residual chain lube light white patches are developed on rear wheel. How I can i get rid of them.

What kind of detergent/liquid soap can be used which leave little to no residue post washing.

Check clutch freeplay and chain slack. You must have about 1cm of freeplay in the lever end and at least 1 inch of chain slack.

Just press hard and wipe it using a tissue paper.

              Thanks ayrus for your inputs.

That was the 1st thing I checked and looks fine. As mentioned earlier, I face this issue only while slowing down or at sudden stoppage when trying to downshift to keep the momentum. Even after halting suddenly gears dont shift to 1st gear. Also this problem occurs while shifting from 2nd to 1st gear. Day by day I am getting paranoid as I know the bike is absolutely fine but them why I am facing this issue. That is why I wanted to know if I am doing something wrong. Although I am not new to bikes but this is my 1st new 200 CC bike.

Just press hard and wipe it using a tissue paper.
These spots are old. Tried to clean them by lightly scrubbing but in little to no improvement. Though the spots are not visible until closely seen.

What is the best way to wash the bike?.. Any shampoo/liquid soap or something you would like to suggest. Also I noticed that SVC guys use some kind of polish to make the tyres/exhaust look new. Any idea what is it and where can I get it.

Have anyone changed the right side panel. How much is gonna cost?
I don't know it's my bad time or the bike's, I keep on putting my bike down.
Today while struggling through one of the worst roads of my life, A car came from opposite to my wrong side, so I had to go to the right end to stop.
Just where I stopped, when I put my right leg down to stop, there was a foot deep pothole, Which made me fall vigorously.
The result is right side panel broken where the bolt is screwed in.

Another thing I noticed is my bike is relatively high when compare to other apache 200's in my office parking lot, which are relatively older.
Whether the height has been increased drastically in the latest model?

                  .
I would suggest that you pump the clutch lever in between gear shifts - This works fine for me.
For eg: You are doing around 60-70 in 5th and then you find that the traffic in front of you has completely stopped. You brake hard - all your attention is on the braking. After sometime you pull in the clutch lever and try to drop down to 2nd or 1st. This does not work well for me - i don't like the sound or the feel of the gear box when this is done.
                  alternate option
As soon as you hit the brake drop into 4th, let go of the clutch - let the engine do some of the braking, successively drop into 3rd and 2nd. Each time you change a gear make sure you re-engage the clutch. Since the 200 v2 has a slipper clutch and the lever is light you can easily do this with just two fingers by pulling the lever around half way. This will take some practice but I feel the bike feels much better under braking.

Hello guys! Been a secret follower of this thread. Joined xbhp 7 years back but finally getting my first bike now. Booked apache 200 non abs Grey color. Wanted to go for the abs but the price difference of 25k was a bummer ( also I'm kind of on budget). Getting delivery tomorrow, I've gone through the standard PDI thread, but is there anything Apache specific that I should be aware of?

Congrats for your new ride bro.
                      Welcome to our family.

By the way, me too a new member who joined RTRians last week.

I was told as there is no nothing specific for Apache regarding PDI.

However, check the nuts and bolts carefully and question them if anything is missing.

In my case, mine didn’t have nut holding the number plate light.

When I questioned them, they simply said, since it is a powerful bike, due to vibrations it will again miss out, so TVS is not providing it, which I know he is simply blabbering.

I asked him to check a 160 4V and he said it had it. So he accepted it might have been missed and they can’t put it with bare hands. They need some equipment since their hand can’t reach there and so they glued it.
However it is a not a big deal for me and so I accepted it and I’ll resolve it later.

You check everything and question them if you are not satisfied with any single/small part. You can postpone the delivery if you wish. Of course we will be in the mood to get the bike asap and might forget to check some small things like this. But, be cautious about the same.

Also, get details about insurance policy they are offering.

I got a better scheme outside at same price and so I opted that one and not from dealership.

Has anyone in this group done Touring on their Apache 200 with pillion? Can you share your experience regarding it? Is it comfortable for both rider and pillion? Can it cruise easily at 100km/h with pillion and luggage?

And is Fi + ABS version available? (According to Dealers in Mangalore they didn't get any till now)

                          Hi,

Once I went to a village near Pandharpur which was approx 200 kms from Pune with my wife. That was my 1st long distance trip since getting the bike. Bike is definitely comfortable but only if you take break between your journey. Although I never went above 90 kmph, it can cruise at 100 with pillion. Road conditions can make more or less comfortable. Maybe other RTR owners will share their own experience.

AFAIK dealers are getting 1-2 bikes of Fi + ABS version because of low demand/higher cost of such variant. But they might be able to make it available if you book it considering that you have made payment for it. Its better to call their customer care regarding this.

I don't think cruising at 100 will be comfortable at this bike with a pillion. The wind will try to blow down the pillion. It's really dangerous to cruise at 100 at any bike with a pillion, if you don't have a huge windscreen upfront, like a Bajaj avenger (Funny that avenger is not capable to do that).

For the solo though, I always used to cruise at 100 on highways, You can tuck in yourself comfortably and cruise at triple digit all day long and this bike won't drop a sweat.

I find this bike extremely comfortable for long rides, when compared to all my previous bikes. I have both avenger and this, I found apache to be more comfortable at highways, because the avenger engine is really a piece of shit, you can't go above 80 in that, it will start to cry like a baby.

What! I didn't know that about avenger. I did 90 kmph with my 2018 hornet for 160 kilometers comfortably with pillion+ luggage, and touched 110 kmph multiple times. I weight 80kg+ 70kg( pillion)+ 10 kg luggage( dslr +lens+ cloths+ chain lube can)

When you drive solo, you can tuck in yourself comfortably. But the pillion can't do that, especially in the raised pillion seat setup like the one in Apache 200.
