I didnt use clutch assy from RTR 200

I modded the existing clutch basket and few other parts to accommodate an extra friction and steel plate.
This setup minimizes clutch slip, the throttle response improves by a lot

In short the connection between throttle and the rear wheel is just amazing, the moment you twist that throttle, without any delay the bike pulls ahead.

Also, this setup lasts longer and can handle more power. The feel at lever become slightly stiff as the clutch spring gets compressed more compared to stock.

A lot of people have done it. The SVCs in most places are doing it and it is a direct fit. If you've done 20k+ on the current clutch, go for the slipper clutch. It is worth it.

Dont know if slipper clutch will fit or not
RTR 200 has different clutch basket and different shaft(where the clutch basket fits) so cant really confirm if it'll fit.

                    Hello Apachians,

First of all, I would like to thank those ones who advised me in choosing the right variant for me.

I booked an Apache RTR 200 4V 2.0 ABS in white colour and got it delivered now.

                    Showroom Experiance :

At first, I was about to book an FI model, since it is an advanced tech and less maintenance than carb and also slightly better average.
To be honest, I was not at all satisfied with the showroom response. I have mentioned this in my thread in what bike section too. The showroom people were not even aware of their own product line-up, upcoming mandatory ABS rules and even about standard warranty period. My dad is not well known person about bikes, but even he is not at all happy with the response from the dealership.
My father asked which is TVS latest and highest power bike and the dealership person says its Apache 200. I asked him to check the calender which is hanging backside of him. It's with RR310 picture.
Then simply enquired about sandard warranty period for RTR200 and the answer we got shocked us. He said it is for one year only and no additional warranty provided with additional cost.
At this point, I started seeking help from Xbhpians whether to go for FI or not and most of those answerers said to go with carb+ABS.
Also, awareness of dealership people were not satisfactory and so I decided to go with Carb, but with ABS one for sure.
Booked the precious on Feb 27 and due to RTO transfer issue, registration was delayed, however bike was readily available at their main branch.
I informed them as I will take take insurance outside where I get better plans at approximately same price. They agreed to it and said and I have to submit insurance copy so that they can register the bike, which I did.
I'm located at a small town and so, nothing special in delivery experiance. They just handed over the keys and a bag with medical kit, tool kit and manual.

Here it is, presenting my new ride.

I just have few questions, hope experts and owners will be able to address the same.

I filled 2 litres of petrol and after runnning for 3-4 kms and stopped at my home, I can see some drops in brown colour as shown below.

Please throw some light, as is this normal? Kindly let me know what and why it is like this.

This drops is from a black tube near center stand, as shown below.

Also, is the rear seat position is same as shown below? Is this fully locked position? The black tray under rear seat is clearly visible when standing closely to rear end of bike.

After riding for some good 10-15 kms, there is some burning smell at left side engine area and a mild tappet noise.

There is a dealy of 1-2 seconds in gear indication when shifted from N to 1.

I hope there will not be any serious issues. I need some advice/guidance in run in maintenance and oil/chain lube usage.

I expect good run in formalities to be taken care of and also what is the ideal RPM setting for this bike? Initially, it will be at 7500 RPM and we have to set as per our riding. May I know ideal setting for the same for better life of engine and good ownership experiance?

                    Thanks in advance.

I got my motorcycle recently too (earlier this week to be precise). I have the same slight delay with the gear indicator, the sensor is apparently one of the pain points of the RTR 200.

I've set the RPM light to 5000 and I shift gars at 4500 as a rule.

According to TVS, you're not supposed to exceed 4000 RPM and 50kmph before 1000km are done for proper run-in. I've already covered 230km.

Did you get a user manual with the bike BTW?

The gear indicator is just working as intended. The gear may not slot as soon as you shift the lever in some cases, and that's why the indicator changes after a small delay.

About the break in, 5k RPM till 500 kms and 6k till 1st oil change is fine.

Yes. I got user Manual with the bike.

In the manual, it says as RPM preset at 7.5K RPM and we have to adjust it as per our riding style.

That black tube near center stand used to spill petrol, when the tank is overfilled. What is the fuel level when it was leaking? Is it leaking now?
The transparent tube goes into carburetor, I think there's a place above engine where it can be tucked away.
I never noticed the gap in the rear seat in mine. I'll check and reply, For now try to open the rear seat and then push close it. You'll hear a click when it closes properly.
Do you kept anything that is taking more space under the seat? That may be blocking the seat from locking.
All other minor issues will be sorted once the bike get some kms in ODO.
For the run-in period, keep your engine under 60, and once you are in the highway, occasional 100 won't kill the engine. Keep it below 60, for 90% of the time.
Whether the bike needs it or not, remains a mystery, but you need it to get familiarize with the bike.

                              Thanks for your inputs brother.

The fuel level is not full. It is still in reserve only. The showroom people said they will fill 3 litres of petrol at the time of delivery but they didn’t.

However I didn’t fight with them and I filled just 2 litres and there may be 1 litre in the tank already.

Even if we consider 3 litres (as dealer said) + 2 litres (myself filled) it is 5 litres right ? Tank capacity is 12 litres.
Then that tube should not spill the petrol.

The rear seat is locked well, there is no issue in locking. But that tray under the seat is slightly visible under rear seat when we see it. I think it is designed as such.

I have not kept anything under seat as of now. I will keep first aid and till kits there later.

I have not yet gone above 5k RPM and top speed is 72 now.
Not gone above 60 except this time.

I can observe Mild burning smell at right side of the engine after 10-15 kms ride.

Not gone above 60 except this time.

I can observe Mild burning smell at right side of the engine after 10-15 kms ride.
See if the leakage occurs repeatedly. If not, there is no need to worry.

Post a pic of the rear seat from a distance. The grabrail should be visible but the tray should not be.
