Thanks madhav766

In all these years I have always helped the newbies in whatever way possible. Be it RTR thread or basic motorcycle questions, or riding gears or helmets. I made some FAQs on RTR and Helmet, which are easily accessible for anyone.
I did my part long time back but when I see same questions being asked again and again, thats when I pour some harsh replies.
If people have noticed, I seldom reply, leave aside me, very few old members are active now. And one of the reason is this repetitiveness in almost all threads. I reply when I see that there is a genuine problem or the query is something new. Members still pm me for their queries and I never say NO.

I again ask the new members to search the forum and invest little more time, there are high chances that the query you have , is already been answered somewhere. use keywords, use thread name while you search, may be instead of 5minutes it will take 15minutes, but in that process its high possibility that you stumble upon something that is new for you and you learn something from it.

Saying this I hope now newbies will take this in good spirit and start implying it.

Man, you don't have to tell me. I know how helpful you are - I have experienced it firsthand. Like you, I try to help out whenever I can and I only learnt that from the guys who were here when I was new to Xbhp. And the only reason I can help out is because I took the time to soak in all the knowledge this forum has to offer. Any "newbie" who is here and is reading this should do that too. There's already 124 pages here and I'm sure there's at least some info in there. Or else, there's always other TVS threads - the RTR180 thread remains relevant even to this day. If not there, comb through the rest of the forum. Information is abundant here. There is literally years of knowledge here that any motorcycle enthusiast will appreciate.

Guys, we're going *theoretically* OT on this thread.

Unless members stop considering xBhp as a rant/complaint/"share-your-problems-only" forum, situations aren't going to improve. Consider the forum as family where you share any major update (good or bad) within your personal biking space. And yes, please search the forum or search google with xBhp added to the keywords.
Lot of members like Prateek have signatures. Go through them.

Best of luck.

I went back a few pages and I noticed a few things: Same questions over and over again, same frustration over and over again and practically no one who owns the RTR200 minding the thread, with the exception of Prateek, who owns the RTR180. So the solution is simple: you guys who have owned the RTR200 should take a look at other ownership threads, especially in the nascent stages of the thread and learn from what they did to combat such issues because, let me assure you, every single new ownership thread has had issues like these. Difference was that there were some really helpful guys(seniors and newbies alike) who stepped in with a helpful document, a helpful link or contacted the mods to make a sticky, etc. Notice Prateek's signature? "RTR 180 FAQs" it says there. I can't begin to tell you how helpful that document was for me when I got my RTR180ABS and went on the RTR180 ownership thread looking for answers to every burning question I had. I don't see even one RTR200 owner with a signature, let alone a helpful blog linked in the signature. You can't really begin to complain this way if you won't do anything about it. I mean this as constructive criticism. It is not advice, neither is it a diss. Please don't get offended. This is not a personal attack. Just trying to make the forum a better place for us.

That bolded statement was harsh. I appreciate where you are coming from, I truly do, but people like you and me shouldn't have the hubris to say things like this when we haven't really contributed to adding "new content" to Xbhp. Heck, we aren't even part of the e-manual yet. We are just bystanders looking at Xbhp walking by, checking it out and commenting on it. Why don't we first add to the content, maybe get a blog entry approved, make this thread a better place for newbies, etc and then we can comment on not having new content. No?
I totally understand and no way this is offensive. You are 100℅ right and I will try to the required things to assist people better. 2 days, to jort down everything and the link to that post will be in my signature.
Thanks & Regards

The issue with fuel bar is not a problem at all. It works like that. If we read the manuals we will come to know the exact functioning of the sensor. I also thought it was a problem with the sensor but when I read I got to know that it works that way. Many a times when there are 2 bars the bike might go on reserve because it is nearing to the reserve level and when we are riding the fuel level is not constant. When there 1bar means around 2.2Litres of fuel is there and when it starts blinking there is 1.8Litres and then when there is no bar means the last 1.1Litres of fuel is left and the fuel indicator will come on. I think before that it also starts blinking.

I got my new RTR200 a few days back and I have completed 200kms on ODO.
Today I checked the engine oil level and it was at min level.
Dont know why the dealer gave the bike like this.
Should I go back and topup the oil or keep running till first service?

Please go to service center and top up the oil. It will not cost you much but the initial stage of the bike is critical for maintaining the bike for long. As the run in for bike is required the bike also requires proper amount to oil. So don't risk your lovely bike.....

I went to a near by showroom and they told the level is indeed lesser than minimum.
Got it topped up and happy riding again 😀

Hi guys ! Completed first service at 534 kms. Experience has been very bad after service. I am facing a host of new problems.
1) Bike makes a whining noise when decelerating ( i.e when the bike is running on its momentum without any throttle). When I press clutch, sound goes away. I am pretty sure that the noise is not because of engine braking. It wasn't there before service.
2) Rotating the rear wheel ( after putting the bike on centre stand ) makes a "tak tak tak" sound. It comes from front sprocket.
Even mileage has dropped significantly after 1st service. Took my bike twice to service center after 1st service, still the above mentioned problems are not resolved. Petrol leaked from fuel drain pipe, but thank god at least that was fixed ! Bike was much better before service.
Anyways, has anyone tried Motul or Shell engine oil ???

Your 2nd point, check if they have tightened the chain too much because i am also getting same noise but my bike chain is too tight so i need to loosen it a bit then will see. Noise is like some part of chain is touching something and making the Tak Tak sound.
Also they (SVC) will not allow other oil to be changed from them if you want you will have to change it from out.
But i havent yet changed to other oil. I will change to other oil once i completed my free servicing from them.

Point number one. Engines do produce a whine sound when decelerating, some produce a sweet while, some produce a distinct whine like signature Pulsar whine, sweet ringing sound. In your case, since you've mentioned the sound disappears when disengaging the clutch, I don't see any problem, it's absolutely fine.

To your second point, yes, kadak, kadak kinda sound emantes from the front front when the chain is tightened a little more than required. It also is caused due to improper lubrication and or misaligned tire. But mostly less lube and tight chain.

Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

THE END
