ECU failure
maybe he switched off and switched on the ignition too fast, like in a couple of seconds switch off, then turn it on, like that.. if you do it, yes, the ECU failure will come.. it's a software thing with a little support from hardware.. but yeah.. mostly software and I guess it can be fixed with software update..
those two videos should help..
and this..
Drop in coolant level
check if there is any marks in the bottom of the engine, usually coolant won't evaporate, but maybe there's a leak from one of the hoses.. rare case, there's a leak that's causing the coolant to enter into the engine and the engine feels like it's struggling to go past 80 or 100 KMPH...
low oil pressure
when? after it's in traffic for a long time? - just rev the bike, the svc will put only 1.5 liters of oil inside that engine.. earlier it used to be about 1.7-1.8, now it's 1.5.. check for any oil leaks & top up the oil.. if there's any oil leak from the crank case, get the case replaced immediately under warranty..
keep topping up the oil little by little as and when required till the fix..
ABS failure
did he do any burnout when the abs is in "road" mode?? i.e. active in both the wheels, coz if that's the case, yeah, it will happen.. make sure you switch the mode to "super moto" when doing a burnout or stuff like that...
if not, check if the cables near the brakes are chewed or something, if he has a doggie at home & the doggie chewed up the ABS cable, there's nothing much we can do can we??
that's all that I could rake up from my brain and whatever little I was able to remember from the previous posts of this thread & the old duke/RC 390 threads..
P.S. even I have a RC200, good piece of machine.. so is the 390, just bad software.. but little bit from our end also it's needed to care for the bike..
OR
worst case, it's a one odd of a lemon.. happens, I picked up my bike, even my friend did, he had all the issues, me, touchwood, nothing.. care, riding and all are almost very similar.. so yeah.. it should be good.. not sure why.. like I said, probably one odd of the lemon.. just bad luck.. but screw them with warranty & get it all fixed..
