    Hey everyone,

Today I saw a few drops of petrol on my fuel cap. I rotated the fuel cap from normal to reserve and then back to normal and I found that petrol was leaking from the fuel cap. It was not much, hardly 2-3 drops but this has never happened before in my bike . Is this normal and what is the reason behind it ?

Fuel Tap, change it, costs under 200/- at best.

Went for the first free service of my bike here in Mumbai and the bill amounted to 1030/-, they charged for engine oil, oil filter, chain lubrication(210/-) and rest for other consumables. I am not at all convinced by this, what can I do now, any suggestions?

For the first free service ideally only engine oil and filter should be charged which should come somewhere around Rs.700. Chain lubrication is how they are making additional money and I was charged Rs.100 billed as labour. I questioned this as we should not be charged any labour cost for free services, and I was told this is the cost of chain lube itself. I was pretty sure they didnt put Rs 100 worth of lube on the chain. So nowadays I specifically tell them not to lube chain and I do it myself using gear oil.

I had my bike's 3rd servicing recently at TVS service centre. This is what the mechanic found when he opened the cover. (See 1st and 2nd image). This cover over the battery was broken. I have no idea how it broke because I never met with an accident before. The mechanic there somehow managed to stick the broken part back in the cover and fixed it. He also couldn't tell how the cover got damaged. Now after 10 days I see that the broken part is further breaking down. (See the 3rd and 4th image). More cracks have occurred in it. And I don't have any idea why it's happening. I know it's not possible to tell just by looking at the images but can anyone please suggest any probable reason as to why the cover is breaking down further ?

Thanks in advance. Click image for larger version

Hi Akshaymishra94, looks like your bike's swing arm axle screw and bolt are over tighten (or) missing some washer material in between to handle the tension on the plastic cover. since the crack developed from the foot peg area , it must be over tighten or un-even tension applied on it.

I got its first service done on 550 kms and till now It has ran 1820 kms.
After the first service, I started facing some issues like:
1 - Bike's engine or chain making loud noise as soon as the bike reaches 40km/h speed.
2 - The front disc brake makes noise as if something is rubbing with the disc brakes. It makes the noise even when I rotate the front wheel manually with my hands by keeping the bike on main (double) stand
3 - I feel somewhere somehow the pickup is low as opposed to the reviews all over the internet and youtube videos. My bike can reach 0-60 in 10-12 seconds.

Note: I have contacted the service center from where I bought the bike regarding the disc brake noise issue, but they always tell me that its due to dust being stuck within brakes. While I keep it clean as much as I can always, daily. They are not doing anything regarding the issue of disc brake.
Regarding the noise, they say its coz of too much heat in summers that the bike gets heated up. But now its monsoon and still the problem stays.

Please guide me as what could be the cause of these things and how these things could be taken care of? How to resolve such things?

                hi sumitbadaya,
                1. Check your bike's chain slackness.. chain can make noise with excess or in adequate slackness then lubricate chain . Make sure you clean the chain , adjust and then lube.
                2. As service center people said, dirt and debris gets deposited between the rotors and brake pads. These dirt and debris make un even friction when you apply brake and thus makes the noise. Clean the brake pads with wire brush or sand paper. To access the brake pads you need to remove the calipers from the forks.
                3. Re-jet the carb setting. seems like your carb running on low or lean mixture also check the clutch play.

Sorry. I don't have the picture of the leakage from fuel knob. But thank you for your advice on the crack issue. I will get it attended to by the service center.

Okay. Can you send the picture of the place where you find fuel. Like if it’s from the fuelling petcock knob , send picture of the petcock

Looks like your fuel filter cork is not tightened enough. I can find some screwing grove.

Under / below the petcock tap for fuel flow control you can find a small container with 10mm nut. Close or turn off the fuel flow. Use 10mm spanner and remove the small container. It’ll have lil bit of petrol say less than 5ml along with a plastic fuel filter (some times the plastic filter may stuck with the petcock, you can hand pull it to remove ) and rubber o ring shaped washer. Clean the washer and container also the filter. Put all back in order. First the filter , rubber washer and the container. Ensure that you tight all the way in. So that you won’t find any screwing grove visible.

My apache 160 4v's silencer is creating awkward noise mostly.
The sound is exactly the one as in this video

What is its solution and what is the root cause of it? Please anyone help me.

My bike is just 2500 kms and 4 months old
