Re: Jawa & 42 Ownership Experience
I also booked the Jawa 42 this morning.
But to be honest, my first ride of the 42 was a month ago and I didn't like it. The positioning of the leg felt a little aggressive compared to the laid back Bullet 350. But I suppose it is just a question of getting used to it. So I went in again today and after riding the standard twice and the 42 once, I settled down for the 42. Delivery time is 6 months... so let's hope that flies by soon!
Damn excited!!!Last edited by srs; 04-18-2019, 12:42 PM.

If you have booked on 16/04/2019, has the dealer quoted waiting period of 6 months? It may take longer, because most of us, who have booked online in Nov-Dec 2018 are yet to get any update on delivery.
But the bike is awesome and it will be worth every second of the waiting period. If you are in no hurry to own a bike you must definitely wait, like us.

Yes, the dealer told 6 months at the time of booking. In fact he said he could advance the delivery date but I know that's just sales talk.Originally posted by J42 View PostCongratulations srs.

I am in no hurry. I already have a Bullet 350 and quite happy with it for now. I wanted something with better braking power. I first thought of going the 500 way but I haven't heard great things about RE's EFI engines. I don't find the RE Classics comfortable to ride and the 650 twins aren't really suited for city traffic in my opinion. So that leaves only Jawa on the table.
But if there are other alternatives, do suggest those and I'll take a look. I like heavy bikes that is suitable for chilling during the cruise. Not a big fan fast acceleration bikes.Last edited by srs; 04-19-2019, 01:13 PM.

Re: Jawa & 42 Ownership Experience
lol! I cancelled my Jawa booking today. Somehow I couldn't get myself to move away from RE. I'm planning to get something with ABS. A clear case of a known devil being better than an unknown angel and so on.Originally posted by srs View PostYes, the dealer told 6 months at the time of booking. Just checked the Dominar website. Isn't this one of those fast and zippy bikes? I am looking for something more laid back.Originally posted by Neo77k View PostHow about a Dominar?

I'm an old-fashioned guy. I'd look ridiculous on a Mojo!

Dominar is a mix of just partially laid back with a potential of blowing the hat off. How about you test ride one?Originally posted by srs View PostJust checked the Dominar website. Isn't this one of those fast and zippy bikes? I am looking for something more laid back.

Re: Jawa & 42 Ownership Experience
Well I'm unaware of your height, or your wife's. But my wife is 5'2 and she sits on the rear seat of my RS200. Whatever the seat height though, if you find it inconvenient you can soften the suspension and the seat height will come down along with it.Originally posted by srs View PostAlways worth a try. Will do it sometime this week. How's the pillion seat? Too high?
Happy riding
