Congrats on the new tires. The fy1 is the best one for front and cost wise also is damn cheap.
I think you guys are paying more for the masseter x. I too bought a masseter x 100/90-18 recently but the cost was only rs 2200. Why is there so much difference. A friend of mine also bought the similar profile as yours but he paid rs 2900. Seems like the mrf dealers are looting you guys. I know we can argue about the size difference on pricing. I can agree if it was rs 100 or 200 more but a difference of 700-900 is what i cant comprehend.

Hey I bought the tyre online through mrf's website. They were giving discounts on masseter x before but not anymore.
Also the price is dependant on the size. I did pay 200 bucks more which is the mrp.

            Hi,
I have a problem with my bike, i don't know from exactly where but I can hear metallic sound from bike. The sound is more when in first and second gear.
When I went to local mechanic he said may be tappet adjustment should be done. And one other mechanic said net inside the exhaust is loose.
Please help as I am not getting what to do. I serviced my bike recently but svc didn't solved the problem

Yup, you are correct, even in and around Kolkata MRF dealers are selling the Masseter at a price of Rs. 2300-2500.

I am having a serious issue with my rtr, the bike pick up has gone down, have to twist the throttle a lot to reach 60/70. Engine heats up a lot even rding at eve and night. Bike has clocked more thn 40000. I am doing regular servicing @2500kms. Changed the bore, engine decarbonising recently. The svc is looting money, they keep on changing parts like sproket, spark plug, and cap, but no improvements.

I am totally disappointed, need some inputs.

When was the last time you changed throttle cables?

Also resistance to accelrate under the load is a common sumptom of the vaccum piston getting stuck, do overhaul the carburetter.

Hey all, I am confused between the RTR 200 and 180. I currently own a 2009 model RTR 160 which i am still in love with, but feel its time for some more oomph. Realized nothing else will do other than an Apache after test riding a few other bikes. I know 200 will be the logical choice since its newer and better in all aspects but the 160 fits me like a glove plus I love the burble of the 160/180 engine better and also am ok with the vibrations since it gives me the feeling of power (except during the long rides). Analog tacho is another weakness for me, especially seeing the needle climb. My queries include:
                        1. Are the vibrations in the new 180 comparatively lesser?(not a deciding factor, just to know)
                        2. Are the ergonomics and seating the same in the new design 160/180?
                        3. Was able to only test ride the 200 and not the 180 as they didn't have one. Can anyone who has ridden both back to back or experienced both to their full potential tell me if there is a huge difference between the performance, chuckability and ride?

P.S: Are the SVC's in Kerala good enough to manage the RTR relatively well, especially ABS versions if issues crop up?. Apache's are a rare sight in Kerala and i plan to get my new bike in Kochi as i will be shifting there in the coming months.

I've changed my rear tyre to Mogrip meteor 120/80 today. Compared to the stock ones, this thing sticks to the road like a gecko

160 and 180 are same, just a little bit faster the latter one.

                                Hi All,
I am facing a peculiar issue on my Apache RTR 180. Time on digital consol is resets to 12.00 am at ignition (every time). This issue is from a month and started from no where.

I checked the speedo as well as the fuel guage, all working fine except for the time. Tried of resetting to current time and changes all of a sudden on ignition. I asked my trusted mechanic and he has no clue about it. Checked with SVC, they say that the entire consol needs to be chnged. Is that true? Any body facing similar issue?

My Apache is 5 years old. 44k on odo
