Actually nothings wrong with the bike i think :P TVS oil is like water if you ride the bike under sun . better change oil to castrol power 1 or motul or any one u prefer (i.e after u do a quick search on oils) and
to check oil level remove that dip stick and see if its well above the minimum level i.e the first line from bottom of stick. refer manual for more details and pics.

        • I got a pretty good scare today ! I had been to Yelagiri Hills as I had mentioned in my previous post. On the way back, i felt as if the engine became more loud and also realized that I forgot to check the Oil level before I left . So when I stopped for chai, I removed the Oil dip cleaned it, reinserted and to my horror the stick was completely DRY. I was like... . Tried dipping it several times to no avail. But later I realized that i had parked the bike on the side stand and the oil wasn't touching the dip stick at all . I tilted my bike and voila, everything normal !!

Anyway, below are some pics of the Beast taken during the trip !

          • Started my bike after 20 odd days and boy it refused to start After the first couple of kicks I realized that the fuel knob was off Then instinctively turned it to on and kicked about for another 10 times when I remembered that I was running on reserve when I rode last Turned the knob to reserve and voila the bike started in one kick .

However, the choke seems jammed. It doesn't move. I tried choke when the bike had refused to start

Cos the loose bits tangle with the magneto coil as you ride and may damage it... When I got this problem, even with the grinding noise I kept on tryin to start it and finally ended up with a bent valve... I finally took the vehicle to SVC in a small tempo type vehicle.. Just get it to the damn Svc as soon as possible and think abt stuff later...

Actually after 2-3 months of purchase...whn i used to start my bike...it used to produce a rough noise..whn i crank her..like some parts hitting each other badly...but i didnt pay attention to it..thinking that its a refinement problem with all the RTRs....and in this thread also i had never come across such kind of prob. or may be..i missed it ! ! !
At last...the SVC guys did a good job....send 2 guys to my house....took the bike...all the damaged/broken parts were replaced for free ..some niggles were there, which they rectified....
But as usual...there will be something awkard they wld do..when they hand over the bike....some guy have applied a lot of oil over the discs/brake pads ! ! !..Its damn slippery ! ! !...

Newazz it was still a decent service by them ! ! !
Nothing feels better than to gear up and burn some rubber ! ! !

better change spark plug now ,according to manual spark plug needs to be replaced at 15k kms, for one way clutch it costs around 1.4k or so not sure about its life

TVS True is not that bad...in my 5 services..i have used Shell Advance thrice..and TVS True for the 1st and the 5th service....the point is..TVS True 4 may not be at par..but still they are not as bad..as some guys describe over here like.."it behaves as water"..i live in chennai..and the tempr over here..I guess everybody knows...but i am yet to get any heating issues wid the bike....
and as per the vibes..although it doesnt bring it down significantly...still it functions well enough to keep it normal....This is just my experience with it...I am a fan of Shell tho ! ! !

i stand by it man , coz for my first service i took it out at 12 on a hot day , idling was at 2.5k rpm i told the mech about this he was the first person to suggest me to switch to another brand , he took out the dip stick and it was dropping like water drops , i asked him to put tvs ss not mineral oil he showed me the barrels in which they store its like true 4 only , its fine as long as you ride like riding in running in all the time but if you rip it looses its viscosity very quickly after switching to castrol i didnt face this heating issue and more over gear shifts are a lot better.
