    • Guys i have completed 1,100Kms on my odo. Now the tepete sound from the engine has increased a lot. Earlier it used to come only when the engine was hot. nowadays when i start the tepete sounds starts. I showed it the Mechanic @TVS service center they told me they will be changing the the tepete setting in the 2nd servicing which is after another 1.5K kilometers ... Is it normal or should i do anything ?

          • Hey guys, having a small query, my RTR180 which is about 1 year and 10 months old is doing 66kmph @ 5krpm in 5th gear and today i observed that my friends RTR 160 which is about 3 months old is doing something like 64kmph @ 5krpm, i have a feeling that the difference is very low, may be my bike is going too slow, i'm kinda worried...

            @achu
            what exactly do you mean by smoking the tail light bro?

              Well to answer your query dude....even my dad's unicorn goes at 62-63 around 5 rpm....it's got something to do with gear ratio i guess.....

              By smoking i mean to make the tail light appear black in colour but when i press the brakes the red light will appear

                  I don't think it's a good idea as the tail lights indicate that you're braking so only red colour is good for them.

                    err....when you apply the brakes....the lights appear red in colour....the smoking is a transparent black coating only

                      It might be the exhaust popping/back firing you've heard. If you hear this sound only occasionally, then it's OK. If it's otherwise, take your ride to the SVC. Keep us updated.

                      The Apache is ever willing to red line each cog, but the Rider ain't. Enjoy RTR, Safely. Period.

                                Yes, as Drifty suggested, it may be the symptom of the one-way clutch damage.

                                Personally i've had this problem. Eventually mine blew with a loud sound. If that happens then you cannot ride the bike. Nope it won't start at all. So i'd too suggest as Drifty already did, to go to the SVC and check it out as soon as possible. And you could tell them about that sound from the exhaust you've heard and difficulty in shifting gears.

                                Just relax, everything is going to be fine
