The ASC folks changed the oil, possibly the barrel oil? Anyhow what oil do u suggest ?

    • If topped up, you could ride for another 500 odd kms. If the brand of oil was known, could've commented bit more exactly. Anyways, here are my suggestions.

If total Kms covered up until now is:
      Less than 5000, Motul 3000 4T Plus 20W40/Shell Advance AX5 10W40 (Premium mineral)
      More than 5000, Motul 3100 Gold 10W30 or 40/Shell Advance AX7 10W40 (Semi-Synthetic).

If going for Motul 3000 4T Plus, make sure the pack is 1 liter. It's 900 ml version is common.

The Apache is ever willing to red line each cog, but the Rider ain't. Enjoy RTR, Safely. Period.

Guys, a word of advice. Stay long away from all after market air filters, be it K&N, Green Cotton, Simota what ever. These are meant to be used only with a completely modified system, just as a part of the kit.
My fourth engine rebuilt has now partially seized and this weekend I'll be giving the bike for the fifth. :banghead: AND reverting to bone stock config. I'm totally done with modifications.

              • Yeah I've tested K&N & Cosworth both on stock RTR & it's only meant for Chapri people's on the Road you cannot take it to your office you cannot roam in your near by area, at first 10-15 minutes after installing sounds seems to be more like tune but after listening to few minutes more I've started feeling like some metal is been stucked inside the Engine & Silencer which is making irritating noise, attracting people & yes there was slight less jerk in pick up but don't know if Pick up has improved or not but Jerk was less in pick up that's it ....

Let's see if NKG with Spitfire works or its also hyped

I've used NGK Iridium spark plug. I felt some smoothness lost at higher revs. So reverted back pretty soon. The stock Bosch plug has twin electrodes while NGK IR comes with single. That might be a reason.
Now, Splitfire cables available locally are Chinese made and costs 350 INR. While original AFAIK, is difficult to source and costs double the amount. Plus, it's not a plug n play thing between the coil and spark plug for an RTR... some mods are needed to fit this after market cable.

Again as lijok suggested, staying stock is the way to go. IMO, need more power, upgrade to a bigger motorcycle.

                              • Downsizing the Tyres of RTR 180

                                Hi guys,

My front tyre of my RTR 180 is almost worn out and has to be changed. I've decided to change my tyres (both front and rear).

                                The stock size is (90/90 17 - Front) and (110/80 17 - Rear).

                                1. Can i downsize both the Tyres to the ones from R15 V1??? i heard that it has quite a good grip. The tyre size of R15 V1 is (80/90 17 - Front) and (100/80 17 - Rear).

                                2. Or i can go for the front tyre of R15 V2 which is (90/80 17) and the rear tyre of R15 V1.

Which one of these two is the better option??? the reason is that i couldn't find any good set of tyres (grip wise) for the stock size of RTR 180.
Every BIKE has a lot of speed in it. The trick is getting the speed out of it.
