Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Hey guys, one of my friend just bought a new RTR 180 3 days back. When I try to maintain the RPM between 2K to 3K, it never stables at a point. Once I cross 2K it goes all the way to 3K. Is it the same with all RTRs ? Is it because of AFR (no changes done to it). Help would be appreciated

are there any hiccups between that revv range? 2k to 3K rpm? if there are hiccups please visit your SVC.
regarding the problem i was facing
Guys,i went to the SVC and they said that
1.the woodruff key is present on the bike and the key which i found might be some other bike's key he also showed me the key after he opened up the starter case. so they say there is no problem.
2. the rubber hose which is attached to the bore(which had cracks as posted earlier) was not replaced the SVC claimed that it is okay and the carb is also fine and doesn't require any repair.
3.to stop the engine oil leak he said he placed oil seals.
4.replaced spark plug cover saying it is not okay.
5.front disc pad replaced.
now i will test and check if there are any problems.
quick update:-
just found some oil spills near my bike attaching pics.
is this engine oil leak or some extra lubrication which is leaking out?Last edited by pranav_salieri; 04-13-2017, 11:42 PM.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
No there aren't any. But due to this RPM rising issue, I've to keep adjusting the throttle to maintain a constant speed. The SVC guys are a bunch of morons, not willing to do a single work.Originally posted by pranav_salieri View Postare there any hiccups between that revv range? 2k to 3K rpm? if there are hiccups please visit your SVC.
The bike has other problems. So, I just mailed the TVS. Now, these SVC guys are at least trying to work

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Hi
My bike is 2 year old now with 24000 in odo.
I feel the rear tyre slips whenever taking a turn. Is it because I need to change the tyre or just alignment issue? If I need to change the tyre, which one should I go for?
Secondly, the push start button doesn't quite start quickly after a long period in idle. I need to keep it pressed for atleast 3-4 seconds. It works fine after. Only when there is a idle time of say 30 or more minutes, it doesn't start quickly. What could be the issue?

1) Yes please. Change the rear tire. I think the stock rear tire has lived its life.
2) It could be the battery issue here. I am just speculating the battery also needs changing as it maybe draining very fast. Or it could be even loose connection in the self start assembly.Everybody has their own version of TRUTH!!!!!!

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
If the rear wheel is 17 inch, then you have lot of options (though you might not find the same profile as stock). If 18 inch then look at mrf zapper vyde and masseter 100/90-18.Originally posted by nishanthhh View PostThanks for the reply. Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Hello Bros,
I bought my RTR 180 ABS on Dec 2012.
After so many years, today the ABS seems to have malfunctioned
as the ABS light didn't turn off even after going above 10 kmph.
Planning to visit a service station in Bengaluru.
Any suggestions regarding the service center I should be visiting for resolving this?
Past few times I have been to Marathahalli Advaith motors and also Trijal TVS many years back.
Thanks in advance !!

Thanks for replying mate.Originally posted by chetanrautdessai View PostHi,

Speedometer and everything else look fine.
How do I check the ABS sensor?
Also the ABS light is not blinking initially on starting the bike. The light is just constant after starting.
Also I feel that ABS is working fine, but not sure, because the braking didn't seem lot different today.
Most of the time I use front brakes.

Well usual indicator for sensor failure is speedometer. It shows no reading on speedometer if sensor has failed. Have you pressed the ABS button for more than six seconds?Originally posted by uzumaki View PostThanks for replying mate.

If no please show these to competant supervisor at TVS showroom.
If they say your ABS unit has failed ask them what was the cause for it's failure.

I see. I did try pressing ABS switch for more than 6-10 secs but no luck. Will visit the TVS service center soon.Originally posted by chetanrautdessai View PostWell usual indicator for sensor failure is speedometer. It shows no reading on speedometer if sensor has failed. Congos for the new shoes broOriginally posted by JS16 View PostThough my tyres were new i decided for go for the MRF Zapper FY1 + Masseter X combo!
Sizes :

Masseter X : 120/80/17 : Rs3100
