Then chill, nothing to worry about, although if I know RTR right, there would be some oil deposit near the cylinder which can be washed off.
If you are using TVS oil, get the service done before the 2000kms interval (1700-1800)
I will check that out for oil deposit and the service guys or the manual recommending TVS Oil only and might void warranty if we change to others. Sure I will rush to the service once I hit 2000kms mark. Thanks for your help greatly appreciated and I am happy to be here
If you rev your bike a lot. Then with tvs oil u need to change them earlier than 2500kms. Tvs oil doesnt last long if you are a spirited rider. I am a slow rider , hardly cross 60 in town & max 85 on highways. My tvs oil lasts for about 1800kms after which there are signs that you need an oil change.
I work in remote place and in weekends need to drive back around 60kms to get back to the city. So, I need to change the oil as you suggested.
Stick with tvs oil till the free services are over. After that you may change to motul or shell as per ur needs.
I use the tvs oil because my running is very low. Max 500kms a month.
Just noticed the tyre noise on my remora's is pretty much high . If you are on the highway , doing 70+ & if its a less windy day then the most annoying part of the ride will be the tyres. U can hear them even with your helmet on & its very much audible & annoying too.
But this noise becomes less audible if you have a pillion.
So this is my only concern about the remora & other duties it does good like cornering, not skidding under hard braking & vehicle composure at highway speeds.

i think you haven't ridden on other tyres or bikes.
I am from Goa and have been reading xbhp since long. Last week I sold my RTR 160 hyperedge 2014 model.............just to buy RTR 180 ABS .
Today I booked my RTR180 ABS, black colour. Eagerly waiting for the delivery, which is expected tomorrow or day after.
I pretty much have the idea how RTR160 rides , so even more excited to get my hands on RTR 180. Hope the new tyres, which are different than what came on RTR160. on the bike work better( In fact I never had any issues with previous tyres, probably because I extremely rarely rode on wet tarmac or gravel at a speed that can test them).
Hoping to do long trips on new RTR 180 once I break it in. I have decided to break it in the hard way (not harsh) after reading a lot about the method which made sense to me.Let's see how it goes.

What method is that? I wish you all the best with your new 180.
Moto man method, mentioned in the faq link in my signature too
Didn't know whatever he read was from yours or the same he read elsewhere that made sense to him. Fine. Wondering if there is still any other method too taking that my question is still left unanswered.
Because, in the initial stages, this bike sounded stressed while revving above 4k or 5k rpm. I always felt revving beyond certain rpm actually strained the motor because of the vibes and hard feel. But then the bike still runs so no problem.
@srinath2494 : I guessyou have assumed things without actually going through the faqs, I have mentioned Moto-Man method via link and have mentioned clearly that run-in depends from person to person. There is no hard and fast rule that one has to carry as per the manual. To each his own.
And afaik, there is no other method of run-in apart from these two methods
P. S : Bear is not only animal. Please search for other meanings of the word.
One of the sources of my information about break in procedure was that RTR FAQ (the same link has been posted in multiple other threads as well). That FAQ is quite informative in general.
Here is another reference, which seems to be more specific as far as the exact procedure goes (logic still remains the same )
I gave a long thought to RTR 200cc option. I noted following 'possible' issues and decided not to wait for 200 cc.
1) Pillion seat is likely to be split and higher (going by current trend) which is not to my liking
2) Many times there are niggles in first batches, so it takes about one year or so before one can say for sure if new version is reliable or no.
3) I read that the engine block will be same but with bigger bore (and may be higher compression ratio). I am not into engineering but from whatever I could gather,
I thought that the vibrations may be worse. On my RTR 160, it was very smooth and vibe free till 6k RPM and then it used to give vibrations. But at 6k RPM in top gear, it used to run at 83-84 kmph (was overgeared by using front sprocket of RTR180) , I hardly needed to go any faster. I changed gears around 5-5.5k RPM. So this vibration was a non-issue for me . I don't know what would happen with 200 cc version.
4) Fuel efficiency may take a hit. I did not want anything below 35 kmpl
5) New version may be liquid cooled and Fuel injected. Good technologies but I have doubt whether the service centres here would be able to handle that.
6) RTR 180 produces enough power/torque to allow crusing at 85-90 kmph with intermittent bursts above 100kmph, more than enough for my use. I don't cross
110 kmph even in my car on Mumbai-Bengaluru highway. It is a well tested and appreciated bike.
