I was thinking if i cud get it packed from the TVS guys....i put in a query too. they said something like removal of battery, drainin the engine oil, emptying the petrol tank and cleaning it with some sodium stuff and finally wrapping it up properly with plastic and other cloth kind material. Advice?Originally posted by Puneet1 View Post

resale price would change from place to place , you wont have lost much value as your bike is still under a year old . just consult some dealers who sell 2nd hand bikes .
sell now and invest the money and after 5 years buy new bike . no matter how well you store bike , it wont be the same after 5 years .

If it were a year then you could have stored it,if you are going for 5 years you should definitely sell off the bike to someone who will take care of rather than killing it in you garage!Originally posted by ssugadhanam View Postok guys in need of some urgent advice. goin abroad for job
, won't b back for sometime (5 years). people advising to sell of the menace
. i thought if there was any procedure to store it so that wen i return, i find it as gud and roaring
as it is now
After 5 years you will be able to get good bike with advanced technology!Speak Less,Speak Wise!

Idle speed
Guys, after riding for some time (yes, some spirited riding that is) the idle speed increases and settles a wee bit above 2k rpm
(of course i notice this when stopping)
Why is this happening?
Going to the SVC tommorrow, but if you guys give me an idea of what could be wrong, it' be nice
The Apache is ever willing to red line each cog, but the Rider ain't. Enjoy RTR, Safely. Period.

Adjust the idling speed to 1krpm in the cold conditions by the idling screw when the engine is hot it must be at 1.2-1.3k rpms the idling rpm should not exceed 1.5k rpmOriginally posted by Rtrlover83 View PostGuys, after riding for some time (yes, some spirited riding that is) the idle speed increases and settles a wee bit above 2k rpm

I was told by many guys here and also the svc that idling should be adjusted when engine is hot. earlier i too used to do it when cold but that led to erratic rpm when hot. it would be better to set it while engine is hot to 1.4k.Originally posted by truelypulsarian View PostAdjust the idling speed to 1krpm in the cold conditions by the idling screw when the engine is hot it must be at 1.2-1.3k rpms the idling rpm should not exceed 1.5k rpm

I used to do the same in my pulsar 135 but for some reason when i set the idling at 1k in my apache at cold it some times goes to 1.4 k when hot but sometimes lingers around 1k even when ridden hard.Originally posted by truelypulsarian View PostThats why i said adjust the idling rpm only to 1k during cold when the engine becmes hot it will increase up to 1.3k rpm i do the same in my 220.
and when the svc set it when hot, it was ok.

@trulypulsarian @New guy
Thanks for your advice. So the idle speed setting might change in course of time right ? and we have to adjust it.
Though i understood the thing to be done (i'am happy with that), it'd be better i go to the SVC since i'am poor in the DIY thing LOL

Hello guys ,,,
I have almost done 600 kms on my menace and it is due for its first service tomorrow....
I will insist the SVC ppl that they carry out the service in front of me only but in case if they dont agree ,,,what should be the necessary steps that i should take care so that the service is carried out properly...
I am really worriied about the original parts been stolen from the bike !!

only thing you can do it lessen the water going in is to remove the air filter pipe from the air filter box and fit the K&N on it. but it will still get wet. which K&N air filter have you installed on your RTR. IF RC-1060 then fit it on the pipe and If RC-1100 then try to get it fitted inside the airfilter box. but take my advice the K&N will not give you power gain it will just make more sound like a bassy exhaust of a cruiser. i installed the K&N and removed it and got back to stock.Originally posted by rajeshmushtang View Postdude any one can help does anyone gotta K&N filter
The Apache is a high revving machine it has a shorter stroke and big bore. so if you want real performance then try the K&N on a longer stroke bike{if you want to compare then the Apache RTR180 has bigger bore than the Pulsar 200} thats how the RTR works. when you install the K&N on the apache you can't take the bike upto the higher RPM's the bike feels stressed. Keep the bikes engine stock and if you want to go for modding go for full mods like free flow exhaust, bigger carb. etc.
but since you already bought the K&N use it. go for upjetting. it might help you and get the Air-fuel-mixture right. RTR's main jet is of 125 try to get a bigger one

talk to the manager and do the servicing in front of you. and dont get stressed. take the bike first in the morning try to get the first no. or so. it will also save you time. check the engine oil is changed. i have still doubt that pouring a TVS Tru4 premium 10w-30 semi-synthetic oil in a new running in bike. as synthetic oil must not be used on a bike till 2000km or so. if possible try to get a 20w-40 TVS Tru4 oilOriginally posted by sujithbvm View PostHello guys ,,,
