looks like your bike have some serious issues .a stock rtr with single rider on plane can do 120 easily. above max load doesn't harm engine.
and now you are getting 40 then what you were getting before..
when ever you try dose the wind was opposite to you, cus wind play a big role in top end try to lean on front and then try.

When one revs his bike unnecessarily in front of you and does all sort of things which other riders around don't ,you know there's ego involvement.I can't help but would want to crush that guys' ego sometime or the other.And half of the wits on the road think 'higher the gear higher is the speed' so they try to reach for the 5th/6th immediately.The 100kph debate is settled then I guess.

Even I have done that and mostly all of us do when they get the bike, but some realize its not a good thing and some dont care. And trust me its not et all a good thing. Just think about those ppl who have learned this hard way. I would never want anyone to learn it that way. And seriously speaking, those who show ego with their bikes, just dont respond to them, it may not show your bike is faster but it will definitely show that you are a much better and sensible rider.


If you are interested in arguing then yes,why wouldn't you mention this 0-any speed thing? Tell him you prioritize performance above mileage and smoothness.

If not,then ask to him keep mum as you don't want to discuss silly things. Simple as that.

I just agree with him, and tell him ya his bike is better than mine in its own standard and mine better than his in diff standards and then we dont argue and get a mutual understanding that our bikes are good.

First thing I would like to ask you Abhi is to STOP reading BIKE India magazine.They are always contradicting themselves and their own testing standards.The same R15 which was faster than the P220 by over three seconds earlier on the track has now been beaten by the same P220 around the same track.The RTR180 which has set a lap time of 2:22 earlier has now gone down to 2:25 with better brakes and ABS!
I had already stopped reading it long back, may be a year or so. I remember there was a article where they showed that RTR180 is faster in 0 to 100 and thats why I mentioned it. Haven't seen any other official comparison in 0 to 100kmph between those 2 bikes.

After a long long wait, I'm back on the saddle.... new piston and rings, new set of shock absorbers. 2000 kms of extended run-in to be done in two weeks... phew...

After starting, especially when engine is cold, does idling for about 30 secs to 1 min before riding, do any good? Like, will this make the oil cover all the engine internals well enough during this time... I think so, and been doing this for a while now
Don't know if this is necessary for an air cooled motorcycle engine.
