Welcome bro The stock one, Bosch Twin electrode (for model no. refer Users Manual) would cost Rs.110.
You could try NGK Iridium spark plug. Model for our ride is CR7EIX. Cost Rs.550. The benefits though marginal, could be found if you check back some previous pages.

I'll be using it couple of days later.

The Apache is ever willing to red line each cog, but the Rider ain't. Enjoy RTR, Safely. Period.

Don't go for any other brand. The stock one is BOSCH Twin electrode, if you ask in spare part shop, ask them about RTR180 sparkplug cause they don't know about Bosch twin electrode plug.Although the packing of the plug will sport the name TVS.It will cost around Rs.120.Part no-M7011010.

Yes, just refer the Users Manual. If you are not sure, get it done by a mech. I'am going to the SVC though

Bro, made a typo on one of my posts for you. The part no. of NGK Iridium IX spark plug for our ride is CR7EIX. Thanks.

                • Few problems that I have noticed lately:

                  1. Headlight switch-Has gone completely kaput! Pass switch(dipper) works but headlights don't.

                  2. Already done 21k kilometers. Should I go and change the spark plug? I feel it works all very well though.

                  3. While braking (hard!), some weird sort of sounds are heard. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr and very hollow noise comes from inside the console or rtr panel covering clip-ons. Could it be a worn out cone-set?

                  5. Going at speeds over 100kph makes the bike very uncomfortable. Ride is very bumpy and it wobbles all the time. Note, tire pressure and preload-suspension settings are as per advised and have not been fiddled with.

                  6. Carb and Air filter have been cleaned thoroughly; Oil filter and engine oil have been changed. Carb has been tuned again to a slightly rich mixture setting. Still, it does not the feel the way it should. While twisting the throttle suddenly from lower revs, engine feels like been strangulated. Pick-up has dropped significantly!
If you ride like there's no tomorrow...worry not there won't be!

Most probably water has seeped in. WD40 should do the trick or ask any mech to open up check for loose connection. Nothing there that can go kaput.

                    2. Already done 21k kilometers. Should I go and change the spark plug? I feel it works all very well though.
Yes ASAP. I would suggest changing it every 7-8k since it is cheap at 114 bucks.

No idea But I ain't betting against it. Maybe you should also change the fork oil and also tighten all the nut and bolts.

Can you ride handsfree. If not check the alignment of the suspension. Or the alloys may be bent slightly or rear and front tires may not be aligned.

You are definitely running rich or your spark plug is not producing a consistent spark

My suggestions for two of your problems

                      2. Please replace the Spark Plug ASAP, you'd definitely notice some difference like better power delivery, reduced emissions as well as an improved FE.

                      6. Could you check out the throttle cable assembly.

Bro, next time you should try Motul 5100 ester 10W40 4T. This one's really a very good buy. One of the benefits I've noticed is that the engine performs equally well, even after riding at higher rpm for a long time.

IMO, it is the proper SS oil out there.

                      • ^^ Thanks for your suggestions bro.

Okay, I will change the spark plug asap. Have been thinking of it for a long but...

The mechanic to who I had sent my for servicing tells me that throttle-cable is alright.

Now, I would like to share one more thing. I have never used any of the Motul oils but I feel Shell, for the time being I am not able to find any Motul retailers, is a wonderful oil for RTR. I am running my bike with AX7 SS oil. I feel a world of difference compared to other oils used before. Okay, this wasn't actually that thing.

As my bike is already and officially out of warranty now, I am trying to stay away from tvs service center here. I have found a local roadside mechanic who I find knowledgeable. He did service in two installments. First day, oil filter and engine oil. Second day, carb and air-filter cleaned. All this was done in front of my eyes only. After the oil change, I was just amazed by the change in way the RTR revved (I think, I have posted about it earlier too). But after when the carb and filter were cleaned I could feel this harshness and jerkiness in throttle response. My first thoughts were exactly the same as yours-'throttle cable' but the mechanic dismissed.

I don't know whether he's been ignorant or true. But yes, this thing started from the day carb was cleaned.
If you ride like there's no tomorrow...worry not there won't be!

                            1. If your bike is under warranty, change the complete switch set free.I did it last week....if not, then u have to clean it by some electrical wiring shop for 20 rs...

                            2. So old spark plug?change it,No.6 problem would be solved.

No more under warranty. Thanks, anyway.

1,2 and 3 will be solved in due time (I missed or there's nothing as no. 4 problem ) but I would like to hear more about the 5th and 6th.

As you are based in Delhi/NCR only, could you guide me to a shop, where I can check all these alignment problems-wheels, alloys and suspension. I will be visiting Karol Bagh soon. If there's anyone you know, please suggest.

Running rich-I am doing the carb tuning all by myself. I do not believe in mechanics as they don't count and just 'screw' it in any direction they like (mostly lean). How many turns shall I rotate it to? Currently, it's set to about 4 and a half turns.

First, let me change the spark plug and see if there's any improvement.
