    Think 30k kms waranty rule holds good here. Manual Think they will need it to see that you got ur bike serviced on time , or if svc maintains job sheets that will also do i gueess

        can u explain how the piston went kaput? We, fellow rtr 180 owners will be careful in future, presuming that it happened by your mistake

          never ever ride ur MENACE when oil level is minimum and dont relay on tvs svc guys
          and change ur oil at regular intervals dont even go for ride even few km when oil level is minimum this can stop the heart beat of our menace

            Running rich-I am doing the carb tuning all by myself. I do not believe in mechanics as they don't count and just 'screw' it in any direction they like (mostly lean). How many turns shall I rotate it to? Currently, it's set to about 4 and a half turns.

            First, let me change the spark plug and see if there's any improvement.

            Can you ride handsfree ? Take you bike above 60+ and try lifting your hands off the handle. If you can, then there's nothing wrong with the suspension or wheel alignments. If the bike tends to go drift off a straight line or wobbles, the either suspension is mis-aligned or the tires.

            And if alloys are bent, the best course is to buy new ones (the new R15's look dandy) since alloys cannot be straightened. The karol bagh people hammer it but I think it is risky and life threatening though I had it done once out of ignorance.

            There is a whole lane in Karol Bagh where they hammer the bike The lanes behind Chopras

            And regarding the bike losing breath at lower rpms while accelerating, I am pretty sure you are running too rich. Make it leaner (1/2 turns at a time and test it out). Check your spark plug. Are there black deposits?

            If you haven't serviced the bikes in authorised TVS SC then you are in for some tough time. Write to TVS and explain the problem. They are pretty responsive. And don't tell them you were running with low oil level.

              I always ensure that i change the oil every 1.5k kms. Anyway, i feel so bad about what happened to ur menace. Is it covered under warranty?

                NGK has a spark plug for the Apache RTR's and that's NGK R CR7E.Go for the platinum spark plug NGK CR7E GP it costs 160 bucks and it's almost as good as the iridium one.

                The benefits are that the NGK spark plug is a flush center electrode one,so it will make the engine run cooler than the stock bosch twin electrode one.
                Secondly the benefits of platinum/iridium spark plugs are that they last longer,improves performance(without misfiring in higher revs) and mileage too as it burns better.

                  So the sound you were mentioning about was to do with this.

                  Your bike is very much under warranty so claim it,if in case you can't find the manual then take the docs,like receipts(which will show the date) etc and claim the warranty.

                      They will make a scene depending on what terms you're in with them.So be prepared not to compromise.

                      Coming to the sound part,i had previously asked you as to check it correctly,as to it's source.Do that once again with the mech.
                      From what you're saying,i think piston's been seizing.So ask for a complete bore-kit replacement and don't settle for a piston/rings change.

                      Secondly check whether the noise is coming from the crank,if yes,then ask them for a crank-kit replacement too.

                      Thirdly if there's noise from the engine-head as well,then ask the mech to check the cam/bearings ,valve-train too.If they are faulty ask for a new cam ,or better a new head assembly itself.

                      Why i'm saying the above things is because a engine's life depends on the oil quality and it's level is even more important.If engine runs without sufficient oil then all the above mentioned parts would have worn out or developed fault.So don't settle for "band-aid/patch-up" treatment,cause they will not last long(breakdown after warranty is over).

                                Your fuel tank drain hose is kinked under the tank. Just lift the tank from back side and re-route the same.
