Well, this is what I had planned, but is yet to do
Kameeney! By "experience" (here), I meant the understanding of symptoms, knowing what to do after seeing certain symptoms and EXPERIENCING atleast someone tuning a bike in front of you and making you note things like concentrate on the beats, now the strokes are uniform or something. I took it to be obvious about what experience could stand for, here.

P.S. During the second service of my steed, I asked the mechanic to allow me see what he's doing and tell me little things about everything, saying bhaiya maine abhi mechanical engineering mein admission liya hai... mujhe ye sab practically dekhna hai (making a puppy face) Yes, I lied!
Though, it didn't help me to learn something new from them

          • Ohke now as im gonna get the engine head back from joel soon , so i need to change some stuff :

            1. Which Tyre

I have been using 120-80-17 since last 6k kms and now its the time to change , i wont go in for the same size as it affects performance. I had chosen michellin pilot sporty as a option but people here have reported puncture issues with it, which i cant afford (severe lack of time). My second option is The r15's rear tyre i.e 100/80-17 but the guy who installed the same (earlier in the thread) reported that the tyre reduces the speedo reading and the bike feels undergeared ( is it so....??). Plzz gimme some good option regarding this

            2. Which Engine oil

Not much debate about this but i just wanted to knw tht will putting in motul 300v or any other fully synth oil of xxW40 make the rev sluggishly . As im more of a street tourer and racer and hardly do 100+ kms , so heating is not a problem for me i just want a smooth ride with a oil which helps in reaching the top end sooner.

Sorry for posting this here , i had already posted in the tyres and engine oil section but didnt get any final decision. And it is more advisable to ask all this from a person who is riding the same bike and has good knowledge abt it.

            • Saw this Picture from a Apache-Brazil forum and felt I should share here:

See how they have modified our Apache's front to much larger wind shield? Has this been done here? Will this help to stop wind blasts when touring?

Also I liked how they use front crashguard to hold stuff (maybe a chain lube can)

                About engine oil.
No, a full synthetic engine oil does not hamper the free revving nature of RTR engines, especially if it's of a W40 grade. It is advisable to use these oils only after around 7000km. Motul's 300V Factory Line and Shell's Advance Ultra are good FS oil options.

P.S. I've bought a pack of Motul 300V FL 15W50 a while back. Yes, before knowing Drifty and Sid's not so nice experience with the W50 grade. I have got no choice but to try it (for the first time).
The 11K service is not yet done. Will post the updates.

The Apache is ever willing to red line each cog, but the Rider ain't. Enjoy RTR, Safely. Period.

                • @UTKARSH the sluggishness depends on the grade of the oil !
any good FS or SS with 10W40 grade will do well!

@VINESH nice catch there! these windscreens available at ebay or somewhere yet?

@ RTRLOVER with the 15W50 u'll notice the that the bike wont heat up as quickly and yeah it will be a bit more smoother to!
but once the oil sets in like say 500-1k kms then u'll really feel loss in revvability of ur menace! anyways do tell us how it feels

thnxx , and i knw how pathetic the xxw50 oil are for the menace as i was using valvoline and yamahalube of the same grade.

But plzz someone tell me about the tyres as they are a lot more important to me than engine oil

                            • guys i need your help with this...today when my bike hit reserve i filled exactly half a litere of petrol to check mileage and reset the trip meter to zero. after 14.3kms it felt as though my bike is running out of fuel and i should hit reserve and the engine got switched off... then i waited for sometime and then started the bike again and it started without switching it to reserve...then it went upto 21.4 kms but the egnine used to get switched off here and there but once i thumb the starter it used to start again...after 21.3 kms the fuel bar starting blinking so i switched to reserve..now whats the actual mileage of my bike 14.3kms for half a litrer which means 26 kmpl or 21.3kms for half a litere which means ~ 41 kmpl???? i know that even when the fuel cock is switched to "OFF" the bike can go about 1 km before the engine gets switched off....help me out guys getting confused..i cannot live with mileage figures like 28-38...i at least want 40...also i never ripped the bike, never crossed 80 and shifting at 4 k RPM and tyre pressure was also corect and fuel i filled in shell.

You aren't using premium petrol, are you?

Do not under any circumstances use petrol over 95 octane in Apache. It will screw the bike up.

If you aren't Using premium petrol, then it is most likely either the fuel delivery hose or the carb or the air filter.Would be very helpful if you posted a few more details

Check if your engine is overheating.and next time you you got to the SVC get your carb cleaned.or you can do it yourself when you have the time.
