My bikes does 91-92 kmph @ 7krpm... so 8.5k rpm cant be 123...

Even i had a problem of engine not revving above 8.5k rpm in 5th gear... Will discuss about it once we confirm if the bike is running lean/normal and if the air filter is clean and if the reading is correct...

I'm not sure about what i'm saying, its just a guess.
My opinion is that, this flickering is something that happens when there is excessive load on the power supply(i.e. the battery in this case).
Our bike battery is made to handle 35 watt bulbs, if you put in a 55 watt bult it will obviously not bear the load.

Modding bikes without proper knowledge about it and cribbing about it on forums because no one is answering you queries is lame.
There is an entire thread which deals with these kind of stuff, take some time to go through it and actually understand instead of rolling your eyes...

dude m sure dat the top rpm is 8.5k and the top speed the bike touches is 123 m sure and my menace is not with me as i am not in my town to wen i will be home then let u know and ya you are rite the engine oil is 10w30 semisythetic anything else i have to check???? wats the matter with rpm why it is 8.5k max my odo is 2186 ....6 months old apache rtr 180 abs is the bike model

then first there is something wrong with the meter, i think you have to get it checked...

In the meanwhile lets hope other apachians come and share their speeds ant 7k rpm 8k rpm etc,..

garry,lijok,drifty,psr,gixxer junkie,julian.... where are you all these days? spend a few minutes atleast every few days for this thread...

Even my bike touches 125 easily i faced this problem before this can be solved by re-tuning your carb..Probably if you want to reach higher speeds like 80 in the third gear you can try cosworth filter..Just installed and my bike revs till 12K(Neutral) freely the maximum it can...

Hi guys,Happy New Year to all

Did 250kms trip on the 31st and was riding at 70-80km/hr continously for 70kms.The engine heated up and sound was like 'chan chan.'After taking a stop for sometime it was all fine.Is this normal?

I do read the thread everyday... but cannot contribute to such queries coz I dont keep track of the very minute details of what speed the bike is doing at specific rpms

call me whatever, but at those speeds, I'd rather scan the road for potential threats than the rpms :P

atleast you are gtting rpm till 11.7 i am stuck at 8.k in 5th gear

5th gear speedo readings with r15 rear i.e less speedo error

exact figures as per my cam test

bike not going above 8.5 was happening with me too, tried carb tune no good, changed spark plug still nothing, changed clutch plates and used yamahalube 20w40 and i could do 9-9.5 k frequenly. Maybe in ur case carb is the culprit,take a pic of ur spark plug and post it.

Note- take the pic in macro mode for a clear view

False alarm.Should have looked more into it.

Turns out the engine was cold coz i left it in the rain(at least i think so)Full 12k revvability restored after some kilometers.

Have you checked your spark plug for carbon deposits?AFAIK carb settings do not affect RPM(acted as a rev limiter,they however have determined the amount of grunt i have immensely)..The spark plug,Plug Cap,and the coil however will.Honestly i think it's a problem with your CDI assy. rather than your Carb.

Has disconnecting the TPS yielded anything?

@all : Repost..My bike is about 2.5 years old and have a thought of painting my black apache white, the shine in the tank seems to have worn off..Is there a place in Bangalore where i can get it done..Perfect painting like the stock RTR 180 white... Please suggest..and is it worth repainting my rtr 180 to white or shall i get a new one..am totally confused

no i didn't tried disconnecting TPS since day 1 i am able to reach only 125 max at 9k rpm but now after 2 services don my bike goes till 8.k and 123 top
