And in case of RE FI I think cleaning it at every 6000 Km will be good and whenever the fuel light gets on immediately fuel up - will this process works ?
Maintenance wise - in my case only Oil + filter + AF fil + spark - has been changed at every 2000 - 3000 km with drive chain tighted at around 3000 km - still has the same slackness with 10 mm - I oil it at every service of my own . Did not faced any issue man !
Hmm.i too service on my own..My point is if I am paying 2lacs for a bike.its obvious that I should get something premium.and u know well bro it's not just the service but the parts u get in the bike are a hell sub standard.in case of bajaj ya they are catching market their dominar 400 is great they have actually given u a VLM bike.and in case of KTM they bike is advanced with all the safety features with all the premium backup don't forget the VLM advantage.in case of a royal Enfield u get none of this bus just a royal owner feeling along with all the solve yourself issues and extra expenses.Love the RE ...Just being practical. At some point of ownership u do feel so.

Rohan12 I remember you expounding the benefits of RE last year on some what bike threads. Good to hear you've outgrown the 350 and looking for a 500 now. If I was in your position, I would have saved the cash and bought a 500 directly. It's a great torque monster, and if I remember correctly, a friend of mine does 140 kmph on his Desert Storm regularly.

The Duke 390 would give you hell in the city streets at low gears due to the poor torque at low rpms. Whereas the 500 would just sail through.

If you are alright with the extra Maintenance some Bullets require, by all means go out and buy one.

Thanks for the info about 500 but today I tested R15 V2 for the first time in my whole life and CL 500 - AND THE CONCLUSION

Well what a bike is R15 V2 is - I mean it is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy smooth / has 6th gear for cruising / can ride all day at 100 - 120 kmph without vibes / mono suspension / 40-43 kmpl / bigger tyres at back / superb aero dynamic - I MEAN SUPER - did not had any wobbling effect on strong winds / liquid cool engine / and the most important thing its is in here under 1.30 lac way cheap than my RE TB 350 .

And in case of RE CL 500

Ok nothing that excites me after riding Yam ! Its a gentle man motorcycle . HUGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE torque . 184 kg vs 136 Kg . Fe is around 30 kmpl . No fuel gauge . Drum Setup . Behaves like STEROID 200 CC Motorcycle . But to be true I did not find anything that would excites me . Like it did with TB .

I think in near coming months I will sell my Tb and get the Yam R15 .
In case of seating posture I am 6 ft 2 and weigh 98 kg yes it looks cramed but I did not felt any pain because of long hands of mine . Can't say about others .

Lol Rohan12 - when an RE guy rides a performance bike for the first time...

You're not the first RE guy to feel like that. Do consider Duke 200 and CBR 250 too. Also Dominar 400.

I will consider Duke 200 but let see what I get after I sell my RE . Duke in here costs around 1.69 lacs and YAM costs around 1.30 lacs . So let see which one will I buy . And thirdly I won't consider Honda as they won't update your CBR Range and they are concentrating only of Commuter segment and CBR600 . My heart lies with YAM and my brain want KTM . Really confusing . And also test ridden both of them and I love both (its like choosing whom I love most Father or Mother).......

And thirdly I don't trust Bajaj as for example - If later in future if Dominor sales fall they will simply cut the product from the market as in case of 100M / 125ST / 150 S , F/ - So I fear if that happens I won't be able to get the spare and also the weight is like RE 184 KG !! I want a bike within 140 kg - thts why KTM and YAM .
And I think I should buy YAM over KTM because of mileage / vibe free / full fairing / light weight 136 vs 138-140 kg / better SVC in my area / Upgrade kit for YAM (Mechanically and visually)..... What is you opinion...........

Well I previously owned Bajaj 220 F and next was Karizma ZMR 2014 version - so I have the idea of performance of the sports bike . Yeah never that this type of Brutal Performance - well I never owned a liquid cool engine in my life so the feeling was ALIEN ! and the reason of buying RE was my fathers choice as he told me that RE will suit me for my body type .. well can't ignore my dad so I told ok ..

• Need help regarding RE thunderbird console panel

Hey Guys,

So last week I was riding my bike thunderbird and while driving its console panel suddenly came off. When I checked the metal plate holding console panel had broken in half. Now when I took it to the service center, I was told that just metal part won't be available with them and I will have check other parts shops such as in JC road (I am from Bangalore) or I can have it welded.

Have anyone else faced this issue before in RE thunderbird? Also, is it possible to get it welded and secure?

I'll go to JC road anyway and update here guys.

thanks

Same case was with me. Mine broke because few smarties thought of it as arm/elbow resting platform.
Nevertheless, when it broke I simply got it welded back together by a local mechanic. It's pretty economical and quick.

Its a DIY
Next time when you get your new console PLEASE at every 5000 KM just tighten the three bolts underneath it . I do it at every 5000 KM - Things I noticed " Yes the nuts get loosen up , but not at a alarming rate . I just tighten it with my tools (Spanner) and problem solved ."
Or
While taking the bike to the SVC for your Servicing just tell them to tighten the bolt of the console in front of you - If you can't DIY yourself or don't have the tools
Or
If you don't trust the SVC just take it to any local mechanic they will do it .
Listen to what I say if you want and never in your life your console will fall off . Falling of the console shows that the nuts were way too loose . Owning a RE is a headache but this headache is really enjoyable when you DIY !

Guys if you'll want to reduce the console's vibrations substantially then I would suggest you'll to get that console cover which is for barely 100 bucks and is a snug fit...I fixed it on my tb within a month of purchasing my bike as even I got worried by the console's vibes but post fitting that cover it has dampened the vibes extensively...
