Hi everyone.. Well I'd gone over to my dealer yesterday evening with lots of anticipation.. he only had the new TBTS 350..the 500 was yet to arrive. Now let me put it in short.. The engine of the new TBTS 350 is completely the same as the earlier TBTS. No changes on that front whatsoever. Whatever the upgrades are, are entirely in the exterior department of the bike. Here are some key new features in the new TBTS 350:
    1: Rear disc brake
    2: LED Tail lamp
3: Wider rear tyre (It's the same tyre which is present on the Classic 500)
4: Re-designed rear fender with a default attached saree guard (i think it's similar to the ones present on the Classic)
5: Split seats with the detachable rear seat (I'm sure everyone knows this aspect by now )
6: Re-designed backrest ( I HATE this new backrest. Literally hate it.)
7: 20 litre fuel tank with the slightly off-set fuel cap
8: TBTS 350 will be available in only 2 choice of colors: Twilight Black and Flicker/Winter Black (This is what the showroom guys said. Matte is only for 500)
9: The new instrument display cluster (analog + digital)
10: Improved headlamp with the projector feature (I had gone to the showroom during the daytime, so couldn't test the power of the headlamp as such)
11: Slightly wider front forks (looks good!)
12: Slightly smaller indicator bulbs as compared to the earlier TBTS (something that I didn't quite like)
13: Double horn (it's loud as hell!!)
14: And a few other minor features which I may have missed out

Personally, I liked the new look of the bike except the backrest. I am hellbent on replacing this new backrest with that of the existing TBTS. I wonder if that's possible though, coz the showroom guy said it's not (but then, he also said that they aren't completely acquainted with the nitty gritties of the new model, since it had only just arrived). I had booked a red TBTS earlier and since red and silver have been discontinued, I had no choice but to switch over to black. I chose twilight black (it is black with a slight tinge of dark blue). The showroom owner said that delivery priority would be given to existing TBTS customers who were in the waiting period. I had booked the old model in mid-August. He said I should expect delivery by the 1st week of December. Hope he stays true to his word!

Regarding the test drive, I will be going back to the showroom next week.. Will post my experiences then. Cheers!

You missed those black RVMs. They ruine all the looks of beast. I'll be replacing them too...

After starting the bike and putting my hands on the handle (wasn't fortunate enough to take test ride as there's no TR bike available in Pune), I felt that the vibrations are reduced to considerable amount. Yes, they are ther but as compared to old one, much lesser. If there is 'no change' in engine, what can be the reason behind it?

Pardon my ignorance, but what is RVMs? And regarding the lesser vibrations, I have absolutely no idea buddy!!

Yeah 350 is only in 2 colors. Twilight looks neat, it s got a dark blue color reflection.
And matt black color looks good but RE doesnt give warranty on it.

Yeah even I feel chrome mirrors would have been better.

          • Just did a very short test ride on the 350 version. I must say it retains the character (vibes), and handling is slightly better and does not feel like a Enfield. yes, the 350 has all features like low beam projector, rear disc etc all same as the 500.One nice touch is the steering lock from the ignition slot like other bikes around and one big blunder is the back rest for the pillion. Im sure so many are going to have their lower back hurt while riding pillion. Didnt get a chance to ride long. Will probably try tomorrow.

              • For all who are concerned about vibrations. I have a 2 month old CL500 and have done almost 500kms till now with 1 service. So, my bike's engine is very new and shouldn't be as smooth as say after 3-4k kms. But, till now I have found that you can deal with the vibrations easily by adjusting your throttle response. My bike is smooth till 50 & then there are vibrations at 60 but at 65-70, the bike becomes real smooth with a machine gun like exhaust sound (not ridden on high speeds due to less kms). I am sure things will get better and not worse and the case will be similar with the TB500 since it has the same engine but is expected to be somewhat better than CL500 in few departments. Don't hesitate to own this machine guys, whether 350 or 500 as it's worth every penny just for the way it makes you feel. And that's what motorcycling is all about, right?

Yeah, it really looks tiny and misplaced. But will it hurt pillon's lower back !!? Can it be replaced with older one !!?

The speedo is measuring the speed as Digital and displays as analog. How much accurate it is..? Is the needle is steady...?

Saturday went to the dealer and changed my color option from silver to twilight Black(350),but I was unable to take the test drive due to time constrain ...last 4 months waiting for my TBTS350..

/ You missed a point that ,it is equipped with hazard indicator..first time in Indian bike...

cant say about hurting but i doubt about comfort. about replacing it, sadly i dont think so. as u can see in the pic, new one's much smaller than the old one and is just as long as the pillion seat. looks like there's no space to fit the old one unless u cut it , which may go dirty if not done properly.

I too have made up my mind to change it to the earlier backrest. I just hope it can be done. Surely there would be some way out to replace the new one with the earlier one. If not at the ASC, then from an outside mechanic..

Has anyone test ridden the new TBTS 350 yet? Do let us know how your experience was and in what ways did you find the riding experience different from riding the earlier TBTS...

Nope, no test rides available as of now (At Dhone atleast, dunno about Kings Riders).. It's more than a week now since the launch, but still no bike for test ride. Quite frustrating.

                            • The back rest is enough for the pillion.
The older one was too big and looked bad :-P ...
This one at least looks cool.

For me .. if a person needs more comfort, then they can fit a sofa for the pillion :-D
