But what draws me back from booking a new TBTS 350 is that I read here, that RE is going to launch new TBTS 350 next month side by side with the TBTS 500. My earnest request to my friends, will somebody please confirm whether this information is to be taken seriously or not. The reason is I don't want to regret.

Why don't you check with your nearest dealer and confirm us too....

      • ok, finally i managed to do the k&n air filter test on my bird... result was not at all satisfactory. for starters i have an RC-1060 (bullets use E-0900) which fits directly to the carburetor so i had to remove the entire air box. installed the filter, started the engine. idling was stable at regular RPM but when it started to move, the 350cc monster was behaving like a 50cc luna moped. pick up was horrible and even after revving up the RPM was increasing but the bird was moving slowly like a luna (or slower). i thought it'll not cross 60kmph but somehow it took a lot of effort to reach 75-80 speed after which the engine felt a bit alive and after reaching 90kmph the acceleration increased and managed a top end of 105kmph. just 1 week back it was able to do 120kmph on a windy highway, that too i was sure the bird had a lot of juice left but given the strong wind and instability at higher speeds i dint push it further but today wind was very less compared to last week but it managed only a mere 105. sorry guys, i dint do the mileage test as i had to stop the test in between as my bird is just 5k kms old and i dont want to mess it up.

Well this really puts me in a fix as well. The delivery for my TBTS is in Jan2013. Following this thread, it seems like there will be a new model launched coming month, so i called up to confirm, the dealer says he knows nothing about it. Called up the chennai fellows, they gave me phone number for Area manager in mumbai. This guy never answers the phone. My dealer also said, don't believe in rumors. the TBTS 500 launch has already been delayed by almost 1 year. not sure if at all there is a new model, for TBTS350, but if there is, no one can confirm anything. He said, go ahead with your booking. He had a bike ready for me 2 weeks back(maybe someone canceled), but I didn't take it. Now I am not sure if that was a wise decision anymore...

Will a news confirmed by many RE dealers across India (except your dealer) be a rumor !? I don't think so...
But why are you worrying ? Your TBTS is gonna be delivered in Jan 2013 right ?? May be you'll be able to TR new TBTS 350 and 500 both before taking your baby who knows...!?

make some excuse but don't take the current lot at all!! You regret badly if new TBTS gets launched in nov!!

Say that you are out of town for some reasons and won't be back till Dec- JAn and ask him to give that bike to some one else!! And tell him that you will take bike maufactured of same or last month only when ever you take the delivery!!

That is a good suggestion. Does anyone have any idea if the new model 350 will come with rear disc brakes as well?

                        • enquired in the secunderabad showroom about new TBTS's and the sales people were unaware about ravamped 350 cc TBTS. though the manager said "it may take some time". he neither confirmed it nor denied it.

You have to change the the Pilot jet if you are using the K&N filter. Your bird was running too much lean, and thats why the bird was behaving differently.
You have to change the pilot, re-tune the carb and then check.

To every one :: The new Tbird is going to be launched for sure.
The bookings have been stopped in the Brand store in Bangalore. For people who dont know what is a brand store, it means that its the direct sales outlet from the company. They confirmed that the new TBTS will come with a new engine (350). And it will no more be available in the colors of red and grey. only different shades of black.
And what i believe is that the RE is waiting for that film to be launched so that they can promote the new bike along with that.
Just wait for another one month max i think so . no more than that i guess.
