re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 Owners Experiences
yah the sound grom the disc has gone after drying up. The Molykote spray cost me 200 bucks. I think it should be available with industrial spares dealers. I got it through one of those guys only.Originally posted by TranquilRageExcellent. How much does it cost? Available easily?
Were you able to verify if that rubbing sound in the disk has gone after it has dried?

re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 Owners Experiences
Hi All,
Few updates from my side after getting the TBTS 500 stone black.
I have not ridden much so far in 20 days. The ODO is 175 Kms. Yesterday went for 80+ kms (Kondapur to Vanasthalipuram). The speed being maintained within the norms (50-60 kmph). Still I see some oil leakage from the engine spill over the body
. Looks like this problem cannot be solved in the factory itself. We have to get blessings of ASC. Overall looks amazing and no issues encountered whatsoever.
Will keep updating the status.

re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 Owners Experiences
this sunday i went for some off-roading on the 'Bird. Some 30 odd kilometers in total mud slush and grime. The bike did incredibly well...it was easy to drive in all that mud. At one point there was a sharp turn and i fell..... I was afraid of two things - 1. The air fly leg guard would bend under the weight of the bike and would lead to damage to the bike and 2. If ever I fell with the bike I would not be able to lift it up all by myself.
This fall helped me get over my fears. The air fly guard turned out to be adequate enough to protect the bike. Not a single scratch to the bike and not even one to me. Secondly, even though the Thunderbird 500 is just 5Kgs short of 200, it can be lifted up by one person in case of a fall. I lifted my bike, started the engine and was back on two wheels !Last edited by elliot.swan; 06-03-2013, 09:09 PM.

re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 Owners Experiences
I fell on a relatively hard surface. It was not as hard as a proper road but it was as hard as wet earth can be. While falling if one manages to withdraw his legs then there is no reason why he should be trapped by the air fly crash guard.Originally posted by TranquilRageYou said you were afraid the air fly will bend under the weight of the bike. Did you fall on hard surface or on the soft, muddy ground? That might also be an important factor. Am actually concerned that the air fly will bend and trap the leg to the bike.
Also, have you checked whether there are any options for rear crash guards for new TB?
yes there are options available for rear crash guards but imo they dont look good on the bike.

Reduced braking efficiency during rains/wet roads
Hi everyone.. with the onset of the monsoons, I guess the subject of braking properly becomes an important one.. I rode my Thunderbird in moderate rain and on wet tar roads for the 1st time yesterday, and noticed a significant difference in the quality and efficiency of braking. It felt as the brakes weren't strong enough and because I was afraid that applying the brakes too strongly may cause skidding, invariably the bike took much longer to slow down as compared to braking in dry road conditions. I'm assuming this must be the case with everyone... This is normal brake behavior right? Any precautions that we can take to take care of the brakes and the bike in general with respect to the rains etc?

By the way, does any one know whether the original seat cover for the front seat of the new Thunderbird would be available at the RE ASC? I think a cat jumped onto my bike and damaged the seat cover in a few places with her/his claws

Re: Query: Wobbling from the front tyre
Does anyone know where I can get a set of 55/60W lamps in Bangalore (near Koramangala) for Thunderbird 350? It's a 2003 AVL and the headlamps are too dim to be useful in the night. I am guessing that the bulb is worn out and I need new lamps desperately before the weekend ride that I am part of.Baby Tourer

Re: Query: Wobbling from the front tyre
I have noticed that the handlebar of my 'Bird tends to vibrate when I am riding it one handed. Haven't checked for any loose bolts though.Originally posted by nikhilanand7 View PostI noticed on my new TBTS that when I cross 60 (when riding solo) and 40 (with a pillion), there is a little bit of wobbling on the handle. Could anyone please tell me if it is caused due to improper tyre pressure or a fork bend or some other issue?
