    +1
yeah !! even i get the same figures regularly . actually a bit more, around 47-49, and people may think that i'm going overboard if i say that it crossed 50 a couple of times but that's true !! but only a few times !

    • You guys are quoting stratospheric FE figures! My TBTS gives me ~36kmpl. On a recent trip, i finished 500 bucks of fuel in just 196km! of course, i was ripping at 90-110kmph that time

I think most of the petrol bunks in my area are cheats. Have almost identified a good bunk here......... seem to be getting around 40kmpl whenever i top up there.

@madelikeagun - I was following your Leh travelogue quite keenly last year. Did you change your clutch plates? or immediately after returning back? All I remember was that you changed back to mineral oil from Synthetic. Am I missing something?

Hey Have not logged into xBHP for a long time. I missed it so much. I have never changed clutch plates till today. Still running hot! Carry Clutch cables with you. The Royal Enfield Clutch plates are solid, that I can tell you.

        Dear riders,

I am doing LEH again next year in 2014 around June/July. I recently bought a new car and thought I will do LEH on my car. But my heart will not allow me. As I have most of the gear already with me, I will focus next year on shipping bike to Delhi and starting. This will give me more days to spend in LEH. I hope the recent chinese incursion is resolved. LEH is so close to my heart, anything negative happens there burns inside me with patriotism.

Last year we rolled, this time I wanna Rock n Roll

after 15k km it seems that my front suspension has become a bit stiff. what is the procedure to change fork oil for TBTS? does it involve removing the forks or just removing the bolts at top and bottom is sufficient to do the job? if it is the latter, then im hoping to do it as a DIY

            Hello Mates,
I just got my new ThunderBird 350 20 days back. Initially there was no issue, but for the last 8 days, I am noticing a rattling sound from the engine. This is distincly different from the "Thump" and it is more pronounced towards the space between the fuel tank and engine. You can call it a 'clatter' or metallic 'rattling' noise. The dealer says he will rectify it during 1st service. I am only worried that it may damage the engine or something like that. Please advise what should I tell the dealer when I give by Bull for the service. Meaning, where should I ask them to check for the source of the noise. I don't want them to dismiss saying that it is a normal sound. I checked with my friends who own TBTS, Electra and such a noise doesn't come from their engines. Help me folks.

from what you described, that sound is completely normal in all UCE engines. but if its more than usual then get it rectified.

This might be tappet noise. I am assuming that it is more once the engine has warmed up. To get this be properly rectified at asc, take it to them after riding for quite some distance and bring it to notice of asc supervisor.

I would suggest you to go for a std. or electra and then get the handle bars changes. It would be a safe bet.

                          1) for city riding change your reflector dome to metallic reflector of autopal or lumax and put a philips 3700k bulb. for highways, if you have the dough, put new tbts headlight assembly. put a hid inside the projector for good measure!
2)i am guessing you havent changed your spark plugs. i replaced my stock ones with ngk conventional ones at 14.5k and they serve the purpose. iridium is too costly, and if your mech unknowingly removes them and tries to scrape them for cleaning purpose, then its 1k down the drain.
3)if you upgrade to k&n, then you have to upjet your carb and change exhaust to free flow also. i am guessing you haven't changed your air filter also. i changed mine along with the spark plugs and bike pulls like it did when it was new.

now i have decided to change parts as per intervals mentioned in service manual.
Hi Thanks for the reply .. where I can get Metallic reflector .. I am in Gurgaon as if now & also I feel my bike is not tuned well as now it take too much effort to cross 110 or 105 .. previously it use to go 120 with easy so any suggestion for that also .. and shall i change to Synthetic will have make bike run smoother.

                          Thanks,

the Brand store guys used Formula 1 wax on my bike at the time of delivery. So i guess that gives Formula 1 some credibility.
