re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 Owners Experiences
I'm planning to buy it from Reliance AutoZone. Saw it on their product shelf yesterday.. The label read "Imported from USA etc etc".. The price was Rs 225 for a 110 gms box.. I guess it may be the original productOriginally posted by toben View PostIf u are planning to buy it, then look for geniunity of the product, there are lots of fake formula one wax available in market. Re: Misc queries before taking delivery of RE Thunderbird 350
The air fly guard fits perfectly. No question of interfering with the foot pedals. It is the diamond guard which interferes with the pedals. And you can surely get the guard fitted from outside (in fact I strongly suggest you do it, since the RE guys double charge for the guards, as compared to its price in a spare parts shop). There is no question of warranty being void wrt the guard.Originally posted by TranquilRageHello everyone,
1) The crash-guard: For the new Thunderbird, RE hasn't come up with any crash-guards. I have read everywhere that the existing air-fly and diamond designs interfere with the foot on the brake-pedal. On asking at the Brand store, I got an uninterested two minute silence, then a 'maybe it does', then a 'it does interfere', and then 'we will set the guard a little ahead' reply. Needless to say, it doesn't inspire any faith. I have seen an interesting design in one of the Ownership posts by J Ravi (Sorry, I don't know how to tag the post or username), but it is manufactured in Chennai!
So, what are the solution(s) that can be considered? Also, can you get the crash-guard installed from any local shop without making the warranty void as I assume the Brand store will charge higher (maybe not too much, but still) for the same? Any suggestions for a local shop selling original RE spares?
Regarding your question on how to protect the new TB during the monsoons, now that is a situation which I too would be facing for the first time.. so let's wait for some replies on that from our esteemed xbhpians

Re: Misc queries before taking delivery of RE Thunderbird 350
Hello everyone... I purchased an 2013 RE TB350 in January.... ITs been almost 2.5k kms on my ride mostly to college... What problems I'm facing are:
1) Vacuum is getting created in the tank when the fuel tank is aroun 25-30% full (w/o inclusion of reserve fuel). This makes the engine stop abruptly, as there is no fuel supply to the gas chamber.
I just wanted to ask are all owners facing somewhat same problem that I'm facing? If so are there some remedies.

Re: Misc queries before taking delivery of RE Thunderbird 350
This happened to me on a test drive vehicle. The sales guy just opened the lid and closed it again and it worked. But yes this incident did make me doubt my decision of buying the bike. But thankfully my bike does not have that issue (touchwood)Originally posted by harshavardhanchivate View PostHello everyone... I purchased an 2013 RE TB350 in January.... Re: Misc queries before taking delivery of RE Thunderbird 350
Are you talking about 9Amp and 14 Amp Battery? Voltage will be 12 or 24 volt. In RE TBTS case the battery will be 12 V. RE showroom once told me maintenence free battery causes issues like shut down and battery failure. I dont have proof or explaination. I suggest you stick to 12V 14 AMP battery as per manufacterer specs.Originally posted by ripudaman View PostHey guy .. i just replaced my battery .. its a maintenance free but it 9V as I was not able to find 14 V now & my current battery was dead, i have checked every thing is working fine .. but I am not the expert that y I am asking should I get this replaced again to 14 V.

Re: Misc queries before taking delivery of RE Thunderbird 350
Finally got my TBTS 500 stone black yesterday after a looong wait of more than 100 days. Rode home which is 3 kms from the showroom in Gachibowli. Excited to drive the beast during weekend. The fitting was not great couple of places. I need to go to showroom / ASC and ask them to fix it. Otherwise, it looks awesome. Thanks,

Re: Misc queries before taking delivery of RE Thunderbird 350
Hi Guys,
I am planning to buy an RE from quite some time. Was confused between Classic Chrome, CL350, TBTS350 and 500. Now finally planning to settle down to TBTS. Now the confusion is, should I buy TBTS 350 or 500? I would be using this as my daily commute to office (around 60kms to and fro) and I have no plans of using this bike for touring as for touring I would prefer a car any day. So which avtat of TBTS would you guys suggest? And also I heard from RE sales guys that the new TBTS is more reliable and trouble free compared to that of the CL series, because the new TBTS has been tested extensively before it was launched is that true?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Misc queries before taking delivery of RE Thunderbird 350
4: Rain cover is sufficient, no problem if u put it while the engine's still hot, but make sure it doesn't touch the engine or bend pipe. the chrome surfaces are more prone to rusting so better wipe them asap after u finish riding. water will not seep inside the consoles as they will be sealed, but moisture may accumulate sometimes on the glass surface inside, in such cases sunlight will dry it off.Originally posted by TranquilRage
4) Monsoons: I assume rains will start just around the time I receive my bike. Being an amateur, this first monsoon I will probably have the bike parked rather than ridden when it pours (that too in Mumbai rains!), so I wish to know how do you protect the bike from a)rusting and b)water seepage in the speedometer/display consoles, especially with the new digital console in the new TBs? Is just a rain-cover sufficient? If yes, kindly suggest brands, cost and shop. Also, I assume covers cannot be immediately put after riding because of the engine heat?
5) Documents: How do you carry the documents, keep it at home and on person each time you ride or let it remain in the utility box all the time? Is it okay to carry only photocopies while in town?
7) Unwanted attention: Okay, now everyone wants and gets attention while riding an RE. But, what do you do when you are not on it and you have to park it for a few hours in an unprotected place? Might sound a little silly to some, but I would hate anyone doing their Grand Prix simulations on my bike
5: RC and license are cards so they can be carried in wallet. Insurance and pollution certificates can be snugged in the tool kit locker. i dont know about other places but in AP most of us carry only color photocopies
6: well, that's an issue with every RE owner i guess! but u cant help it but live with it. or u can try installing an alarm system which yells when someone touches the bike
