It would be great to see some pictures. Wonder if it'll look good on the new tb.

only thing is if something happens to the engine and you had aftermarket silencer then they would not consider the damage under warrenty else they don't care

I think that's the whole point of warranty... Better wait till 10k km in my opinion.

• 71000 km and counting

Latest update from my side: My bird just completed 71000 km mark in close to two years' time.

Latest issues faced: issue with the oil seal of front shock absorber: fixed in Kolhapur service station
Issue with the headlight: there seems to be issues due to loose connection: Mangalore showroom will check it coming weekend
Issue with the Swingarm Bush: replaced in Mangalore service station

Did a check-up ride of 350 km in the hills last weekend, was of no issue apart from the headlight issue which has been identified.

Planning for two 1000 km ride in September and one 5000 km ride in October, will update this thread accordingly.

Breakdowns/Major issues:

1. complete battery draindown on 22000 km run, had to recharge the same battery to get back to the destination. Had to change the battery after that only.
Place where issue identified: Hubli

2. Issue with crank shaft pin at around 33000 km run, was changed

3. Issues with wiring (at close to 49000 km run)

4. two pinctures in rear tyre.

That's all..

Vechicle has been used only for long rides and not for city commuting

Puncture can be sheer bad luck but apart from that all the other issues does not appears to be a big one.. Isn't it? Correct me if I am wrong

Avoiding the other aspects, I consider breakdowns as anything related to the machine that stops me from moving forward/complete the journey. Yes, its a mini breakdown and I fixed it myself with the tools I carry.

Ahaan good then, it is of your taste looks like. But be assured the thump it produces is really very nice and prominent. Now look is the only thing I don't like about this silencer as it is quite huge, now if that is not an issue for you then happily you can go for it

Cheers!!

Hello All,
I finally got by TBTS 350 delivered yesterday from the RE brand showroom in Bangalore.
It has been a frustrating and exciting 9 months of waiting from Dec 2012
But when I saw my bike wating in delivery area, all that frustration literally flew away
Have to get the crash guard fitted over the weekend. Owning an RE gets the best attention from family and neighbours... makes me look like a superstar
But almost everyone asks the same common question: "Kitna deti hai??" and this really pisses me off!!! When you are buying an RE, you are buying it with your heart... not with your head
Here is an initial pic from the showroom. More will follow later...

Congrats TwilightRider. Welcome to the club. Happy riding!

Ok now to the question of my own. Does anybody know the specs of the new TB350 Exhaust? I mean is it freeflow/with glasswool? is the glasswool fitted in the bendpipe and not the exhaust muffler itself? I have been snooping around this topic for a while, and have read all sorts of answers. This is just for the sake of curiosity. SO if any experienced members can shed some light on it, will make me a bit more familiar with my ride.

Cheers!

Thanks globe2ride
Right now completed about 160KMs on my T'bird. The ride is absolutely awesome!! I had a feeling that driving this in the city will be pretty tough, but after just 1 week of driving, I got so used to it that I had trouble driving my cousin's Splendor!!
There has been no issues so far(pretty lucky for that)... got a nice crash guard from JC road, Bangalore.
I am right now looking forward to fitting a better silencer. The stock one is too quiet for a Royal Enfield, though it feels great in the highways
Can anyone please suggest a nice silencer? I am just looking for the thump sound, not noisy ones.

-Regards,
Sudhir MK

That's awesome. Which crash guard did you use? Please post some snaps with the installed crash guard. I am looking for a better silencer myself, I'm considering the Wild Boar. But i would wait till the warranty period expires, So I have been told that installing an aftermarket silencer might void the engine warranty in some cases. I am not sure about this information though, but with the Bird, i am not going to risk it at all. I suggest you follow the same advise as far as the silencer goes. What options do you have in mind for the new silencer? Maybe we can hunt silencers together. :P
