Hi guys ! This is my first post in this thread. Just got the fourth service done on Saturday (24/01/2015). The idling was not set properly. While upshifting the gears, depressing the clutch would raise the rpm to around 3000. I set the idling rpm to 1000, but the rpm doesn\'t stay there once the ignition is switched off and turned on.

Turned on the ignition on Sunday, to get the 15A fuse blown. Replaced the fuse with the spare fuse which got blown as well. Again tried with another 15A fuse and the whole wiring under the tank got burned and smoked up, and the fuse blew off. I have informed the ASC about this and told them to pick up the bike from my place. Will get to know the reason by tomorrow.

      Hi Friends,

Going straight to my bikes condition.

Got the RE TB 350 last friday, completed 1100 kms in 4 day.

First 600 kms within 55 kms/hr and completed first service in 2 days.
Ride the bike at 70-80 kms/hr on highway and completed around 1100 kms in 4 days.

Engine sounds little odd, like some bolt feel down into it, but RE Service people say that sound will be there for sometime.

as per my knowledge and reading through the forum i ride it properly, no rash drives. But people who doesnt even own RE Machine says we should not take bike this long in this short time. just want to get some idea on which path i am taking my Pepper ( yes thunderbird 350 marine)

Engine rattle sound is bit more than mild.

Help me riders. if i am wrong will correct it form now.

      Thank you.
      SK and Pepper

                  Query: Tyres!

We have already completed close to 20K Kms, and its been a hell of a time. I realize, that in another 15K, it'll be time to change tyres! I'm contemplating going for alloy wheel and tubeless tyres assembly. Can anyone throw some light on the same?! Id it a good idea/really bad idea to go alloy wheels on the TB, Weight, balance, other characteristics being affected in better/worse ways, all your advice and experiences will be helpful.

Thanks in advance for your feedback!

                  Cheers!

                        Ok..

13500+Kms done. 13 months in (use her rarely. For office use my trusty ol pulsar as the parking lot is pathetic )
The bike is rev happy (for the limited revs she can give), is comfortable going on all day at 80-100, and cornering as far as the dynamics permit.
Giving around 40+ in city with sane riding, 32-35 on highways when insane riding.

Now my question is, I was looking for some really functional mods. I say functional mods, not looks or the simple "silencer change, air filter change"

Anyone tried reducing the weight? Better brake pads/calipers? Steel braided lines? P.S. I will not change the silencer unless i find one which is even quieter

Also, does any other manufacturer produce tires in this dimensions? The 90/90-19 front and 120/80-18 rear MRFs are good, but slippery. Can we put in tubeless tires? Will the continental GT's aluminium spokes and tires fit?

Anyone has tried putting in a better bulb (Osram Nightbreaker kind)? Any issues with the battery?

The thing is, whenever I ask these questions and say Royal Enfield in the same breath, people look at me as if I am some heretic. Trust me, I love my bike, but want to ride her harder and faster, take her to the extreme limits and back.

Please let me know if anyone here has thought about things like this. Here is a pic to thank you for reading

                          Hi Friends,

Got by TB Marine 350 a week before completed 1400 kms, nor the first one to say this neither the last one also.

The ride was awesome, have ride first 500 kms within 55 km/s after first service within 80 km/s.

Thing is as like almost everyone here engine is making wired sound, service people says asusual this sound in all RE is normal.
I am fool enough to believe that, unless i have my friend got the same bike ride around 800 kms with a butter soft soundless engine.
I am going to take couple more long rides coming weekend and planning to go for the second service.
Please tell me what all the things i have to fight with ASC guys to get my engine as a cranking sound free.
Gear shifting also having bit trouble as like rear brake and the thumping is not proper its comes with a little whistle sound like normal thumping mix with little odd sound may be because of engine, finally every morning the engine back fires for first few kicks and starts later is that normal too.
As I understood from other posts rear brake shoes will get set in some time, but about other things guide me please brothers.
Also tell me that the rubbers around the engine spaces are started departing from its place i tried to insert them back but failed finally, do they must be there for any reason ?
Need your experience for my peaceful ride and happy service from ASC. Thank you all in advance.

                          Thanks you
SK and PEPPER ( my blue bike )

For weight reduction you can see the weight reduction program by one user on bcm touring. Just google.
About steel braided lines etc, no idea but why not?
Tyre options are indeed available and you can also go tubeless. For making it tubeless you first need to put alloy wheels and then put tubeless tyres on it. I know people have done that.
                            CGT tyres are not tubeless.
Osram?Yes can be done without overloading the battery.

But you said you want to ride it harder and push it to limits then just bulb change or the tyre change would not serve the purpose. For pushing harder you need to at least make the bike more Rev friendly with some carb+filter+exhaust mods. Or if you want more then some engine mods like compression bump, s-cams, an aggresive carburetor, forged piston etc.

                              Thanks for the reply mate.

I do have some performance mods in mind, but am waiting to see if anyone launches a touring friendly performance exhaust The loud ones give me a headache...

The weight reduction i saw is a bit extreme, and few will defeat the touring point. Picked up some pointers though! Thanks.

Can you let me know who makes the front 19incher? I'll see what can be done. Need to see good alloys as well. Hope these are lighter than the stock spokes..
